Mutual Aid Or Extinction

       That cornerstone of anarchism, mutual aid, a very natural attitude in humans, hindered, thwarted, stifled and denied under the rules of capitalism.  However, it is also necessary for us to solve the problems that humanity face today, and in all probability, our only chance of survival. Capitalism creates poverty for the many, widens inequality and rapes the planet in search for resources to exploit for profit for the few. Mutual aid benefits all who participate and wider afield. If we continue with capitalism, we will continue with the injustice, inequality, poverty and an ever increasing myriad of wars and other "crises", the end product being a ravished environment and a high possibility of species extinction. It seems such a simple choice, it is odd that we don't grasp it with both hands and enthusiasm. Capitalism must go, it must be seen as humanity's darkest hour, it must be destroyed and written into the history books as a precautionary lesson for future generations. We are capable of helping one and other, we enjoy doing so, we have the ability and the resources, we are capable of creating that society where the foundations are mutual aid, co-operation, free association, sustainability, seeing to the needs of all our people, and the environment we depend on for survival.

The Phoney Legal System.

         American imperialism adapts to different situations, from the military overthrow and dirty guerilla wars, in South America, they have now moved to the phoney, "legal process", whereby presidents are removed to suit the American neo-liberal ideology. Anything remotely "leftwing", is seen as a threat, a hindrance to the plundering of that continent, and so must be removed, one way or the other. The result is still the same, turmoil and poverty for the people, and more avenues opened up for the big corporations to loot to their hearts content. The latest Legal removal of a head of state to suit that American ideology, being Dilma Rousseff, no saint, but she did fight the previous military dictatorship and suffer torture and imprisonment for her trouble, now being removed and impeached. She is not alone, others have been removed in similar circumstance to suit the American agenda of looting and plundering the South American continent. However, the people are fighting back and fighting hard.

         Like the man said, there are literally millions of people on this planet facing a slow agonising death by starvation, while we in the West, throw away and destroy tons of food, though it is the man made system of capitalism that is the root cause, we by our acceptance of that system are complicit and responsible. When do we sort it out, when do we turn our eyes to the starving millions of men women and children, who are slowly starving to death in a world of plenty?

        In this sedition of ITEOTWAWKIAIFF we look at the growing class unrest in Hong Kong that kicked off a massive rebellion in the lunar new year. Also street battles   in Athens, where anarchists and farmers stormed the Greek capital in reaction to Syriza’s structural adjustment policies.
