When Is Enough, Enough?

As I said before, the people of Greece have been put through the capitalist shredder by its bully boys, the financial Mafia. Now the vampires are back for more. Their puppet government in Greece are now humbly accepting the latest crippling demands from the Troika, (IMF, International Mankind Fuckers, ECB, European Criminal Bastards, EC, Exceptional Criminals,)
With its health service in ruins, its education system disintegrating rapidly, wages slashed, pensions decimated, the Greek government is set to unleash more savage "austerity" on the unfortunate people of Greece. Here are some of the measures to be foisted on the ordinary people. There will be 14.32bn euros ($20.50bn; £12.82bn) cuts in public spending, tax rises of 14.09bn euros, over the next five years. There will be 2.32bn euros of tax increases this year, this follows on from 3.38bn euros increase in 2012, 152m in 2013, and 699m in 2014. There will be a levy to be raised twice next year from households of 1% to 5% of income. A vast swath of the poorest of families who were below the tax threshold will now find themselves paying tax. as the tax free threshold will be lowered from 12,000 euros to 5,000 euros, and property tax will be raised. Then there is that tax that hits the poorest most, VAT, 19% will go to 23%, the 11% rate will rise to 13% and the 5.5% goes up to 6.5%, restaurants will see their vat rate go from 13% to 23%.
There is no end in sight for the people of Greece as long as this economic strangulation system of capitalism persists, the financial Mafia is not going to come over all compassionate and devise a plan to help the ordinary people of Greece, it is not in their DNA. However the people of Greece, as I said before, are not sitting down weeping and hoping for a return of the "good old days".
This from Act For Freedom Now:

“We won’t live like slaves – The only lost battles are the one that they have not been given”. On Wednesday 17 May 2017 thousands of people joined the general strike protests all over Greece, against the new harsh financial measures of 4.9 billion euros incorporated in the 4th Memorandum signed by a Greek government, aimed once again against the lower income classes rather, than the banks and the wealthy.
The self proclaimed left government of SYRIZA in co-operation with the right wing party of ANEL have unleashed a new class war, this time specifically aimed against people with disability and pensioners that have worked all their lives and paid their share under the false notion -as it seems- that during the time when they will be most vulnerable, they would have free public health services and subsidies that would help them get by. On the contrary after 23(!) severe cuts in pensions and allowances during the 8 years of the financial crisis in Greece (amounting to more than 50 billion euros in pension and allowances cuts during the last 7 years), that has forced people to live like beggars, a further 18% cut will be imposed on pensions under the 4th Memorandum being voted in the Greek parliament these days and a “freezing” of even the slightest raise in pensions until 2022.
And as if a life with no future wasn’t enough, the streets of Athens have been filled with thousands of riot policemen to impose fear on people daring to protest during the general strike of 17 May 2017. Thus, during the protest in Athens anarchists attacked the riot police brigades in Syntagma Square around the Greek parliament, whilst inside politicians were discussing the new harsh financial measures to be imposed on the people, without the people. More protest will take place tomorrow 18 May during the voting of the measures in the Greek parliament.

The Trophies Of War.

In Exarchia Square in Athens, they do things differently, apparently they have a rather endearing tradition. They decorate a statue in Exarchia Square with the spoils of their encounters with the state's hounds, the police. The latest artwork is formed from police riot shields and helmets.

17/11/ Exarhia: Traditional decorating of the statue in the square with riot cop helmets and shields.
A group of comrades this morning trapped a police van transferring riot cop gear, the comrades managed to grab 2 shields and 2 helmets, before being attacked by the riot cops. The shields and helmets then traditionally decorated the statue in Exarhia square, as happens with all loot that is grabbed by the cops.

Worries About Academics.

I have always been a bit wary of academics, I feel a lot of them could put all that research and studying to better use. I'm afraid young Ben Palmer has just reinforced that feeling. It appears that universities are just there for the furtherance of corporate profits and assisting the state. Yes, I know, there is a spin-off, that benefits society, a mere by product.

Smart riot shields that appear see-through one-way could allow police to hide their numbers during potentially violent clashes. The design – by Nottingham Trent University undergraduate Ben Palmer - may help diffuse or prevent disorders, as protestors would have little or no knowledge of who they face.
The 21-year-old – who's studying BA Product Design - interviewed rioters and police to help shape his product. "Riot police have a difficult job to do, and can regularly face very intense situations", said Ben, who's studying at the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment. "So I wanted to use my degree to explore how smart technology could be used to enhance the tools they have at their disposal. "By interviewing rioters, it became very clear that police could gain a psychological advantage if their shields incorporated one-way privacy. "Not only would it allow police to mask their numbers, but rioters wouldn't know who or what they were facing."
Ben's designs recently went on show for Nottingham Trent University's 2016 Art & Design Degree Show. The show was one of the largest collections of graduating art and design talent in the UK, with more than 1,300 works on public display.

A Cameraman's Oversight!!!

While the babbling brook of bullshit, our mainstream media, has been over in France covering the football and the "supporters" kicking the shit out of each other, it seems amazing that with all their high-tec equipment and rapid access to getting anything of interest to their pulp making base here in the UK, they seem to have missed a few facts. One being that France, has been in turmoil for weeks with strikes, mass protests, and streets bathed with water cannons, and a haze of tear gas hanging in the air. Eager to show those nasty Russians kicking the shit out of those nice law abiding English, they failed to notice the French police in riot gear, kicking the shit out of the French citizens. You would be lead to believe that the only violence in France was those nasty Russians, everywhere else the population were sitting in cafés sipping cappuccinos.
Here are a couple of "little incidents" that all those cameras and microphones seem to have missed. Probably a small oversight, or biased or censored reporting.

Riot Police At The Funeral March.

December 11 saw the funeral of Sara, the young 13 year old girl who died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Thessaloniki, after her mother, in desperation to keep herself and her daughter warm, lit a fire in a make-shift stove in their apartment. The young girl and her unemployed mother lived alone and had their power cut off three months earlier. They were doing their best to try and keep warm, as temperatures dropped to near freezing in their part of northern Greece.

In Greece even a funeral march by students, is accompanied by riot police in full riot gear. The march to the funeral by high school students in the Thessaloniki, was also in commemoration of the murder of a 15 year old teenager, Alexis Grigoropoulos, by a Athens police officer in December 2008. An event that set off a wave of protest that engulfed all of Greece in the worst civil violence experienced since the overthrow of the country's military dictatorship in in 1973.
Sara died because of the Troika and their subservient Greek puppet government. They forced the banksters' policies of “austerity” and “structural adjustments” onto the people of Greece, they are directly responsible for the deaths by suicide, malnutrition and ill-health that must follow in the wake of their social destruction. These events are not accidents, they are the expected consequences of driving people to deprivation.
Alexis Grigoropoulos was murdered my the state apparatus, likewise, Sara was murdered by that same state apparatus. You can point a gun and shoot, or you can starve and freeze people, the effect is the same, death by a deliberate action. All the poverty and deprivation brought about by the actions of the Troika, (EC, European Commission, ECB, European Central Bank, IMF, International Mankind Fuckers) are not accidental events, they are aware that if you slash people's standard of living, they will suffer, the more you cut, the more they suffer, and that suffering can and does end in death. There is nothing accidental in that.

EPICENTRE OF LAWLESSNESS.

More on the raid by riot police on the Villa Amalias Squat in Athens.
Under the pretext of the search, then, they materialise a long-standing wet dream of theirs: their raid into a space that is one of the spatial symbols of all those who stand in hostility against anything that represents sovereignty, imposition, sterilization, indifference, surrender, subjection. In this they are right. That’s who we are. Us and the thousands of demonstrators, the people in struggle, squatters, strikers, people fighting in the streets. We are the homeless, the punks and the rebels, the vegetarians and the feminists, the nocturnal ones and the workers, poor and the aggrieved, the victims of racism and the avengers of injustice. The minister called us an epicentre of lawlessness…

STATE REPRESSION.

As poverty bites ever deeper in Greece so does state repressions. This morning the riot police raid and tried to evict a squat that has been in existence for 22 years. There has been several attempts to evict but it has always been re-occupied.

Hands off Villa Amalias! Solidarity with squats.

Today, December 20th, 2012 at 7am police forces raided Villa Amalias squat. Pretext for this oppressive exhibition of power has been an ‘anonymous complaint’ to the police. Eight comrades (six Greek-born and two from abroad) who were inside the squat have been arrested and taken to the GADA police headquarters on Alexandras avenue, where they are still being held.
Comrades who came to the area in solidarity with the squatters were also detained by repression motorcycle units, while the same happened to other comrades who were caught inside the Athens City Hall, on Liosion street, where they had gone to make an intervention against the repression mayor Giorgos Kaminis. (The latter were reportedly released after a while.)
From the beginning of the raid, dozens of comrades gathered outside the squat; we remain on Acharnon street till this moment calling out for solidarity.
Mayors and ministers just get it through your head: not even in your wildest dreams could you take Villa Amalias from us.

SPANISH ANGER RISES.

The Spanish miners marching from Asturias to Madrid and then being attacked by riot police seems to have been the spark that lit the fire. Since then the people of Spain have mounted a series of protests across the country. Unemployed have marched from Andalusia, Catalonia and elsewhere into Madrid and are filling the centre of the city. The effects of previous “austerity” measures and the newly announced IMF/ECB dictated further €65 billion “austerity” cuts, a 3% increase in VAT, the attack on the miners and their supporters and an unemployment rate of 24.6% takes life in Spain to the level to which the financial Mafia have succeeded in foisting on the Greek people. Now, like Greece, the Spanish people are fighting back, the protests have been joined by fire-fighters and police in civilian clothes as well as civil servants. Last Thursday evening 500 police and fire-fighters protested in front of the Spanish parliament saying “We are angry because we have lost 30% of our income.” and on Friday, civil servants set up road blocks and were soon joined by nurses, teachers, university professors and doctors. On Friday evening a Facebook organised protest brought thousands out in front of parliament, they were promptly attacked by riot police. The ruling parasites are obviously concerned and there has been a rather stupid and shallow token response from the royal family, they have suggested that their budget takes a slight cut. Another piece of “we're all in this together” shit.
The quicker the people of Europe realise that what is happening In Greece and Spain, with Italy, Ireland and Portugal not far behind, is coming our way, the better. The system isn't going to fix itself and get everybody back to “The good ol' days”, that never were, this is a downward spiral with ordinary people having their social structures decimated, a downward spiral the will make deprivation the norm. Call it what you will, but this is murder, thousands of people are dying, some slowly by health problems and malnutrition caused by poverty, others quickly by suicide, (check the increase in Greece). It is not an accident, it is the result of deliberate financial policies carried by our so called elected representatives at the dictate of the financial Mafia. A financial Mafia that is faceless, unelected, unaccountable, and yet controls our lives. These policies have only two results, the destruction of our standard of living and an increase in the wealth of that financial Mafia and their hit men. That's the system that we accept, why?

SOUP KITCHENS NOT ALLOWED.

While the Greek political class prostrate themselves in front of the financial Mafia, trying to get a deal that will not cost the financial moguls too much, what is happening to the Greek people? In freezing conditions, yes it is very cold in Athens at the moment, the homeless of the city, approximately 20,000 in Athens alone, were being helped out by various political groups setting up soup kitchens. However the caring compassionate government has issued a decree, which, claiming public health issues, closes these soup kitchens. Secretary of Public Health, Dimopoulos, obviously thinks that getting free food is more dangerous than going hungry in a freezing city. His decree states that only formal agencies can publicly offer free food, churches, municipalities and NGOs. Others wishing to offer help to the hungry have to get official approval from the authorities.

It was not just the homeless that were turning up at these soup kitchens, even those who still have a roof over their head can't afford to eat. Spontaneous self help and mutual aid, are terms that are an anathema to the authority worshipping political class. In another recent show of compassionate government, in Athens, while it was snowing and the temperature plummeting 24 or so of the 20,000 homeless in Athens squatted an empty municipal coffee house. The Mayor of Athens, Kaminis, order action to be taken against them and the riot police arrived and arrested 15 of the squatters. The Mayor, for whatever reason withdrew his complaint but the General Attorney of Athens charged the 15 with criminal damage and theft (of electricity). The arrestees were detained at Exarcheia Police Station where 100 or so people gathered outside in protest. The detainees were then transferred to Police HQ, where as far as is known, they are still there.

What we can take from these type of political actions is that the state apparatus is more concerned with the protection of property and maintenance of authority, than it is in the well being of the people. To them it is acceptable to have empty property and people sleeping on the streets in freezing temperatures, rather than free up that property. It is acceptable to have people go hungry in cold winter conditions rather than have unauthorised concerned groups offer them warm food. These are the standard procedures of this profit drive system of corporate financial fascism that we the ordinary people suffer under. This system cannot be modified to take care of all our people, there is no such beast as caring, compassionate capitalism and the call for “moral markets” is a call for the fox to walk with the chicken.
