WORKERS KNOW YOUR HISTORY - ETHEL MACDONALD & SPAIN.

In 1936 hundreds of people left Scotland to fight in Spain against fascism. But there is a name of a young scots woman anarchist that will always be linked to the Spanish Civil war, Ethel MacDonald.

  1. Thank you for sharing. Solidarity. (A)

Most working people here in the U$A know nothing of labor history. They don't realize that the labor movement is one reason why they have their standard of living.

  2. Thanks for your comment, and thanks for following my blog. It is a passion of mine, working class history, if we don't record our history, it didn't happen and we become a people without a history, a people without a culture. The next generation will have to learn the hard way and start the fight all over again when they should realise that it is not a new struggle, it is the same struggle their grandparents and parents fought and we will never win if we don't know our past, we have to see that continuity in our struggle for a decent society. If you're interested in working class history I have written a wee bit and you can read it at

    I hope you enjoy.
