Come April 1st. (April Fools Day) millions of UK's ordinary people will be hit with massive increase in their energy bills, putting heating and cooking in the realms of luxuries. Meanwhile on the same day, April 1st. our Right Honourable MPs will be due to receive a salary increase of £2,000 taking their annual salary to £84,000, plus expenses and cheap meals in the Westminster Houses of Hypocrisy and Corruption.
On top of this rather handsome remuneration, lots of these Honourable Members take second and in some case third and fourth jobs. These other jobs, in some cases bring in more cash than you could hope to earn in your full time job. Our political class is a club for the pampered and privileged who enhance their personal wealth at our expense. Every penny spent on their luxury club is paid for by you and I, yet we let them administer poverty and hardship on us all. We should be asking ourselves, why is it that those we pay to administer our assets end up being much richer than us, while we continue struggle for a decent life.
We have been accepting this charade for centuries and some how expecting a different outcome at each election, but nothing changes, they get richer we get poorer. They say that one of the signs of insanity is to keep doing the same thing but expecting a different result. Let's take a hard long look at how long we have been waiting for this system to delivery the better life for all, and admit that it has failed miserable at our expense. April 1st., who is the fool?
