Careful!!

In this society, be careful who you speak to, be careful what you say, be careful what your read, be careful what you write. Hardly the hallmarks of a democratic society, but the shape of the one we now live under. Ever more security forces, with ever greater powers, fewer and fewer public facilities for the ordinary people. The state now has at its disposal a raft of legislation to dictate to you when and where you can go about your business, and covid19 was the ramrod that broke the damn and let loose a flood of this type of legislation, though the states were never short of this type of legislation before the pandemic, the just added volumes more of restrictive laws and rules, for their own protection.

The following from Act For Freedom Now:

via: roundrobin.info
At 4am in the morning of 11/11/2021, the ROS [Carabinieri Special Operations] raided the homes of dozens of comrades all over Italy on orders of the PM Comodi in an investigation set off by the usual Nobili and Basilone.
Alfredo, in prison for having shot at Adinolfi, CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare, and for ”operation Scripta Manent”, was notified of yet another pre-trial detention; another comrade is under house arrest, four more were subjected to an obligation to remain in their own area with regular signing.
The main accusation is of having constituted and promoted an association with aims of terrorism, an accusation in particular revolving around the paper “Vetriolo” and some articles published in it.
Linked to this operation, the editors of Roundrobin were notified the same evening that they are under investigation: the accusations (threats, incitement to commit crimes, association with terrorist aims) are linked to the publication of some writings which in the cops’ opinion are signed by some of the comrades under investigation.
As Roundrobin we have always wanted to give space to all anarchist ideas and debate and are proud to have published the writings of the comrades under indictment.
Despite the difficulties due to which the site has been on hold for almost a month, we will now recommence giving space to the contributions that reach us, no matter what the shit servants of power think.
Solidarity to the comrades raided and under investigation.
Always with head held high.
Long live anarchy!

Death By Ineptitude.

By now we have become accustomed to the state treating prisoners and migrants alike, as non-citizens, people with no rights, sub-human beings. During this pandemic, prisons and detention centres are becoming hot beds for infection, but the state sweeps that all under the carpet and shows a complete disregard for the human suffering involved. Even before this coronavirus event, both prisons and detention centres were places of over crowding, poor hygiene, poor nutrition and almost non existent health care. With the onslaught of the pandemic conditions have become even more degraded, with little to nothing being done to protect the prisoners and migrants from infection, and at the same time trying to keep it all out of the public eye.
From the start of this pandemic most governments through ineptitude, vested interests, seeing the economy more important that human life, have bungled their approach to the problem. All this aggravated by austerity, stripping the health services and social care systems to a skeleton of what is required. They can't completely ignore the general public so there is appeasement in small doses, but prisoners and migrants can be ignored because they are locked away out of the public view. We can't allow this to continue, these political ballerinas must be held to account. The deaths are away above what should have been, and what could have been, if the powers that be had followed expert scientific advice and prepare for such an event, if they had put the welfare of the people above that of the "economy", that sacred altar of the financial Mafia, on which humanity is sacrificed, if they had thought more of the ordinary people rather than their buddies, the shareholders. But all that is wishful thinking, they are parasites and need to be cleaned out.
The following from Act For Freedom Now:
Bologna, Italy – Greetings at the Dozza prison

In the morning of 16th April, in response to a call made by prisoners’ families in Rome and those in solidarity who supported them in publicly going outside Rebibbia prison walls again, a dozen comrades gathered
The voices from inside thanked us for being there and told us about the desperate conditions. They said that many prisoners are sick and that they had not been given face masks yet. After all, we already knew that Roberto Ragazzi, the chief responsible for prison health in the Bologna’s AUSL [a local health agency], in an internal memo dated 24th February had given instructions to all health workers not to use masks when seeing prisoners in the Dozza or visiting the prison infirmary and clinic, for fear of creating anxiety and tensions inside the structure. From inside we were also told that the prisoners had not been to the exercise yard for weeks and that they couldn’t have video phone calls in place of visits, but only one ten minute call a week, which they had to pay for.
After about 15 minutes the group of comrades was confronted with a disproportionate deployment of Digos, screws, police cars and antiriot cops, who stopped everyone and dealt out fines for breaching the [anti-virus] decree (the comrades were wearing gloves and masks, the cops were decisively less mindful of “preventive care” and didn’t even keep the 1-metre safety distance). The cops’ intervention took place at a spot where the comrades could be seen from the cells and so the prisoners’ solidarity made itself heard with shouts and insults against the cops, reversing the roles we are used to seeing.
WE WON’T TIRE OF REPEATING IT AGAIN TODAY: THE ONLY SAFETY IS FREEDOM.

Doing Well.

In the face of this coronavirus we are told we are all in this together, and we are all struggling together. Yes, these times are hard, but I wonder if it brings a little bit comfort to you to know that not everybody is suffering, some have done quite well during this pandemic. Below is just a short list of some of those who have managed to do quite well over the last week.
Billionaire wealth increases last week:
Jeff Bezos: +$6.8B
Mark Zuckerberg: +$6.2B
Warren Buffett: +$5B
Elon Musk: +$4.2B
Larry Ellison: +$4B
Larry Page: +$3.6B
Bill Gates: +$3.6B

Yes, we are all in this stinking system together, there are those who create the wealth and struggle for a decent life and there are those who reap the wealth and live a life of unimaginable opulence. Oh, and don't be fooled by their philanthropy, it's petty cash from a bunch of greedy. self serving, ruthless individuals who will stop at nothing to protect their wealth, power, and privileged position.

      When will we ever learn.

Billionaire's Dream.

The world economy was well on the way to recession before the coronavirus struck, Last year Bloomberg Economics created a model to determine America’s recession odds. The outcome was that the chance of a recession now stands at 100%, bring to and end the nation’s longest-running expansion.
America may be the leading world economy but the signs of recession were not just in that country. Where America goes economically the rest of the developed world usually follows.
Some figures from Forbes, October 2019:
Hong Kong, several months of protests that have battered the city’s economy, sending it into a technical recession,” tourism and retail especially hard hit from the ongoing turmoil.
UK, uncertainty over Brexit would cause UK to fall into recession.
Germany, EU’s largest economy, due to enter recession from to drop in manufacturing and poor world auto sales.
Italy, was in a technical recession in second half of 2018 and has faced continued economic woes from weak productivity, high unemployment, huge debt problems.
China, In part due trade war and slowing world economy, its economy has continued to slow, growth in 2018, 6.6%, 2019, 6.1% and IMF forecast for 2020 5.8%
According to world economic experts other highly stressed economies around the world include Turkey, Argentina, Iran, Mexico and Brazil, among others.
Crucial statistic, The world economy will only grow 3% this year, that’s the slowest rate of expansion since the global financial crisis started in 2008.

So creaking capitalism was about to see its wheels fall off, before the coronavirus descended on us. What the covid 19 has done is merely accelerated the process by about a year or so, and no doubt it will make that recession all that more brutal for the ordinary people of this world. However the billionaire parasite class will probably see the pandemic as a blessing in disguise. Without raising public anger, as in the previous recession, by demanding a massive bailout with public money, the climate has changed and the public are accepting that the state must throw money at the billionaire parasite class to preserve jobs. In actual fact that could be rephrased as, to save the share holders from loosing to much of their loot. The top billionaire parasite class don’t care too much if businesses go bust, they will have the capacity to expand to take up any increase in demand as and when it might return, and all that taxpayers money will oil the wheels of their new plundering era, if we let it happen.
It won't be too long before they say that restrictions can be eased, eager to get you back to work, as the billionaire parasite class need you to keep building their wealth and power, so what if it cost more lives, to them a large swath of us are expendable without too much loss to their money making endeavours.

Hold To Account.

As most people stay with the "guide lines" it is good to see that around my local patch some people or person is useing their walk and exercise time in a positive way.

Clapping and praise are all well and good, and without a doubt those frontline workers deserve it all. However, all the clapping and verbal praise will not sort the problems within our NHS. Instead of words and patronising phrases from our political ballerinas, we need to see loads of cash being thrown at the NHS, to make up for the plundering this bunch of hypocritical politicians have carried out over the last ten years or more. Dedicated to their ideology of private good, public bad, and to hell with the consequences to the general public, they are responsible for bring the NHS to its knees and are therefore responsible for the resultant deaths, they must be held to account.

He and his coterie of rich buddies have to be brought to account for their careless, idiotic and vested interests method of handling one of the biggest crisis to hit the world's population in generations. Hundreds of thousands of deaths can't go unanswered or shrugged off as, Oh, it was the pandemic.
Let's hope that the public's revulsion at the handling of this crisis by our lords and masters is enough for them to clear our society of this profit driven scum, and change forever the way we structure our society.

Corporations Or People.

When ever capitalism is in trouble, that's when it shows its true colours, its callous and brutal plundering, like 2008, when they engineered trillions of taxpayers cash into their diminishing coffers after their insane gambling spree.
Now here we are with humanity facing one of the worst pandemics in living memory, and capitalism is on its knees, time to get their grub thieving hands on more of taxpayers money, to safeguard their shareholders. Here in the UK our lords and masters are literally throwing billions of pounds at big business, with the pretext that they are thinking of the ordinary people by saving their jobs, shear bullshit. Other countries are of course following, suit the US being a prime example.
30% of the American population may soon be out of work, people are struggling to afford the basic necessities, food and rent becoming luxuries. While this hell goes on for the ordinary people, Boeing is demanding a $60 billion bailout of taxpayers money, which will go to bailout their shareholders and CEO. This will debated in the Senate today, and will no doubt pass with a nod of the corporate beast's buddies, sitting there with the taxpayers purse strings in their grubby little hands.
There should be  a forceful demand from us the ordinary people, that ensures any bailout is to help the people who are at the real cutting edge of this tragedy, the ordinary people. Pour billions and trillions into the protection and safety of people and to hell with shareholders and CEO. We built this world, after this disaster we can build a better world, free from shareholders and CEO, free from the destructive greed driven profit motive.

The Crowd Is Silent.

Most of us will remember 2008, the "crash" when the state rushed to bail out the banks with billions, across the world it was trillions. Afterwords there was anger from the public that the state could come up with those wagon loads of cash to help the banks get over their gambling debts and push us into years of austerity.
Since then all has not been going well for the capitalist system. over the last 4/5 years or so the growth has been creaking to a halt, the bond market has almost died, and relations between the various power blocks has strained to breaking point, and most wise pundits agree, another, much bigger crash looms large. Across the planet people are on the streets in anger at the injustice, inequality, corruption and abject poverty produced by this economic system.  Barely a country doesn't have mass protests flaring up on their patch.
Could the states bail out the system with public money again, in such a climate of anger and open protest and rebellion? It would be quite a risk for the powers that be. Quite a problem to be faced.
I have no idea how covid19 started, or where it came from, and I am no conspiracy theorist, but for our lords and masters it couldn't have come at a better time, and I have no doubt they will exploit it to their advantage to the utmost. With one fell swoop they have shut down the streets, Hong Kong streets are quiet, where are the Yellow Vests, the heat of the Chilean rebellion seems to have gone cool, Prague has lost its mass protests, Extinction Rebellion is extinct. What is more, the public, instead of being angry at another bailout, are demanding that the state pours in billions of pounds into businesses to help save jobs. Yes, companies will go bust, but that 1% in the billionaires club, will gobble up any surplus demand that appears after the dust has settled.
However you and I will face the same call from the financial Mafia, the country's debt is too high and governments will need to take urgent action to reduce that debt. That means once again, you and I will face the raw teeth of mega austerity, all to save the economy. Which no doubt will plunder its way on until the next crash, or until we finally dismantle this whole plunder charade of the parasite class, and replace it with a society based on mutual aid, co-operation, sustainability and free from the profit motive. A society that sees to the needs of all our people, not just to the pampered privileged 1%.

Champs-Élysées Paris, March 19, 2020. Where are the Yellow Vests?

Our Rights.

No doubt we all have our opinions on what is happening to our society and why, what should be done and what shouldn't be done, also when does our rights need to be sacrificed and why. Also we need to ensure that whatever rights we lose, must be restored as their suspension is no longer required. The state has a nasty habit of stating it is necessary to curtail our  rights because of this and that, but failing to return those rights when the "emergency" is over. The present situation gives the state complete control over all aspects of our lives, even to when we can leave our home, where we can go and what we can do. Surely an unacceptable situation to be tolerated for any length of time in any society. Who will be the ones to say when we have our rights restored, obviously it must be us, the people, we can't trust the state as its aims are always control of the population. Be prudent, but be vigilant.

France: “The Worst Virus Ever… Authority…”

About COVID-19, authoritarian delusions and the shitty world we live in…        The macabre death toll increases day by day, and in the imagination of each person takes place the sensation, at first vague then always a little stronger, of being more and more threatened by the Great Grim Reaper. For hundreds of millions of human beings, this imagining is certainly not new, that of death that can strike anyone, at any time. Just think of the damned of the earth sacrificed daily on the altar of power and profit: those who survive under State bombs, in the midst of endless wars over oil or mineral resources, those who coexist with invisible radioactivity caused by accidents or nuclear waste, those who cross the Sahel or the Mediterranean and are locked up in concentration camps for migrants, those who are reduced to pieces of flesh and bone by the misery and devastation caused by agro-industry and the extraction of raw materials…And even in the lands that we inhabit, in times not very long ago, we have known the terror of butcheries on an industrial scale, bombings, extermination camps… always created by the thirst for power and wealth of States and bosses, always faithfully set up by armies and police.
But no, today we are not talking about those desperate faces that we constantly try to keep away from our eyes and minds, nor about a history that is now past. Terror is beginning to spread in the cradle of the kingdom of commodities and social peace, and it is caused by a virus that can attack anyone – although of course, not everyone will have the same opportunities to cure themselves. And in a world where people are used to lying, where the use of figures and statistics are one of the main means of media manipulation, in a world where truth is constantly hidden, mutilated and transformed by the media, we can only try to put the pieces together, to formulate hypotheses, try to resist this mobilization of minds and ask the question: where are we going?
In China, and then in Italy, new repressive measures were imposed daily, until they reached the limit that no State had dared to cross yet: the ban on leaving one’s home and on moving around the country except for work reasons or absolute necessity. Not even during war would there have been consent to the acceptance of such far-reaching measures by the population. But this new totalitarianism has the face of Science and Medicine, of neutrality and common interest. Pharmaceutical, telecommunications and new technology will find the solution. In China, the use of geo-locating to report any movement and any case of infection, facial recognition and e-commerce are helping the State to ensure that every citizen is locked up in their own home. Today, the same states that have based their existence on confinement, war and massacre, including of their own population, impose their “protection” through prohibitions, borders and armed men. How long will this situation last? Two weeks, a month, a year? We know that the state of emergency declared after the attacks [translation note: originally imposed in 2015 following the Islamic State terrorist attacks in Paris] has been extended several times, until the emergency measures were definitively incorporated into French law. What will this new emergency lead us to?
A virus is a biological phenomenon, but the context in which it originates, its spread and its management are social issues. In the Amazon, Africa or Oceania, entire populations have been exterminated by viruses brought by settlers, while the settlers imposed their domination and way of life. In the rain forests, armies, merchants and missionaries pushed the people – who previously occupied the territory in a scattered way – to concentrate around schools, in villages or towns. This greatly facilitated the spread of devastating epidemics. Today, half the world’s population lives in cities, around the temples of Capital, and feeds on the products of agro-industry and intensive livestock farming. Any possibility of self-sufficiency has been eradicated by States and the market economy. And as long as the mega-machine of domination continues to function, human existence will be increasingly subjected to disasters that are not very “natural”, and to a management of them that will deprive us of any possibility of determining our lives.
Unless… in an increasingly dark and disturbing scenario, human beings decide to live as free beings, even if it is just for a few hours, days or years before the end – rather than shutting themselves up in a “natural” world, of fear and submission. As did the prisoners in 30 Italian prisons, faced with the ban on visiting rooms imposed because of Covid-19, by revolting against their jailers, demolishing and burning their cages and, in some cases, managing to escape.

Phony Money.

There are some nasty words being mentioned in the USA, and it is not just because of covid 19, but the economic crash that will follow, which incidentally, has been brewing for a few years now. Those nasty words are "nationalisation" and "socialism", and what is more, they are not being mentioned in a derogatory manner, but as solutions to the problems the American people are facing and will face in the coming future. Truth being that we will all be facing the same problems in the coming years. We should be preparing in our communities now, not waiting until it hits us.

This from Dr. Paul Craig Roberts:

Economist Michael Hudson has for many decades studied the use of debt-forgiveness to restart economies killed by debt burdens. Debt forgiveness for corporations has a different implication than debt forgiveness for individuals. For corporations, forgiving debts lets those who financialized and indebted the economy and the population off the hook. To avoid rewarding them for the catastrophe they produced and to prevent widespread public outcry and distrust, nationalization is implied for insolvent companies and banks.
Nationalization would be limited to insolvent companies and financial institutions and doesn’t mean that there would be no private companies or businesses. Additional nationalization could be used to prevent strategic companies from substituting their interests for national interests, which they do when they move American jobs and factories offshore. Pharmaceuticals could be nationalized along with health care. Energy which often sacrifices the environment to its profits could be considered for nationalization. A successful society has to have more driving it than private profit.
For most Americans nationalization is a dirty word, but it has many benefits. For example, a national health care system reduces costs tremendously by taking profits out of the system. Additionally, nationalized pharmaceutical companies could be made more focused on research and cures than on profit avenues. Everyone knows how Big Pharma influences medical schools and medical practice in line with Big Pharma’s approach. A more open-minded approach to medicine would be beneficial.
Socialist is another American dirty word, one that is being used against Bernie Sanders. I have not turned into a socialist overnight. I am simply thinking outloud. How can the economy recover when the population and corporations are smothered by debt? Debt forgiveness is the only way out of this debt suffocation. Can debts be forgiven without nationalization? Not without a huge giveaway to financial mangers and Wall Street. It is the members of the “one percent” who have received 95% of the increase in us income and wealth since 2008. Do we want to reward them for smothering the economy with debt by bailing them out without nationalizing them?
The combination of an economy covered in debt and an unprotected population is clearly revolutionary. Do we have leadership capable of breaking out of interest group politics and ruling ideologies in order to save our society and put it on a more sustainable basis?
Or will the economic hardships be blamed on the virus, the catalyst that ignited the debt timebomb?
And a wee look at how the system works:
