Crisis.

Saturday 12th November, an opportunity to show your anger and disgust at a system that destroys the planet, plunges millions in to poverty and fattens the bank accounts of those destroying the planet. A chance to show your anger, disgust and distrust of the managers of the system, the politicians, who are in the pockets of big business, and who hand in hand are dragging us to oblivion.
November 12th. raise your voice, show your anger.

No Poverty.

Get behind this mass protest, if you can't get to London, then try to organise one in your own locality. We have to get the message across, we will no longer be poor to pay for the gambling machinations of the financial mafia. Glasgow will be holding one in Buchanan Street at the Donald Dewar statue. Saturday 1pm give these all the support you can muster, it's your standard of living.

Another new Prime Minister, same old war policy. Rishi Sunak's selection to No. 10 is unlikely to see any trimming of the magic money tree for war.
The re-appointment of Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace, means that huge proposed increases in military spending are set to be maintained. We're told that all departmental budgets are could face cuts but the 'defence' budget is going to be doubled to £100 billion by 2030.
Cuts for the NHS, our schools and possibly pensions but mammoth increases for weapons and war. It's a disgrace. We have to get rid of this government before these ludicrous hikes in military spending become reality.
That’s why Stop the War and CND are throwing our weight behind The People’s Assembly’s ‘Tories Out’ demonstration this Saturday (5 Nov). Join us on the 'Welfare Not Warfare' bloc which is assembling at midday at Embankment Bistro Cafe.

Bliar!

Our so called constitutional Monarchy is a living edifice of British imperialism, steeped in pomp, wealthy and privileges. It scatters its tainted privileges far and wide conferring pompous honours on those who serve and preserve British imperialism. We are about to see this in action when Tony Blair, probably one of the worst war-mongering Prime Ministers the UK has ever had, well until reckless, arrogant duplicitous Boris arrive at No.10. Lying, bloody handed, Tony Blair, he of the illegal Iraq invasion, is about kneel in front of the monarchy, with his fancy hat on, and have bestowed on him one of the privileges with which our constitutional monarchy peppers on the imperialist faithful.
Far from honouring this blood soaked lying war-monger, he should be facing trail for the bloody, brutal devastation he heaped on the innocent people of Iraq. The people of this country should in no way accept this theatre of pomp and privilege, bolstering UK imperialism, privilege and power.

11 Jun 2022 —
The UK honours system is anything but honourable. On June 13th draped in robes, gold and plumed hat, Tony Blair will be given the red-carpet treatment and granted the highest honour the Queen can bestow, a Knighthood.
That’s why we will be outside Windsor Castle to remind Blair he can never wash the blood off his hands.
Join the public protest at the annual Garter Day procession in Windsor and let the world know there is only one court that Blair should be attending, and it’s not the royal one.
We are assembling at 1pm at the Queen Victoria Statue on Castle Hill, Windsor, SL4 1PD to say 'Jail Blair! No knighthoods for war criminals'.
For those traveling from London we will be meeting at Paddington Station at midday for the 12:20 train. Changing at Slough at 12:36.
It will be a memorable day when we send a memorable message to the gathered media. Be a part of that message!

Thank you for your support.

Rioting & Looting.

With conditions for the ordinary people growing more drastic by the day and the powerful movement of Black Lives Matter, it is obvious that we will see more protests on the streets of countries across the globe. Often these protest morph into riots and looting, sometimes the rioting and looting is provoked deliberately by the police. There will always be those moralists who sit in the wings who preach, "why don't you just hold a peaceful protest, sing your chants, wave you banner and placards, then just go home?"
No matter whether the police provoke the violence or not, there has to be a deep rooted anger and feeling of injustice, underlying these actions of "rioting" and "looting".
This position is eloquently explained with passion and sincerity by Kimberly Jones. Listen and think about what she is saying. She may be talking about Afro Americans, but the same principles apply to  the ordinary people of this world and the pampered, privileged parasite class, that hold the reins in this economic system of exploitation. Thanks Loam for the link.

Tomorrow Swell Their Numbers.

Glasgow and the rest of the country owe a debt of gratitude to all those how turned up at Glasgow's SEC centre, to let the blood sucking parasites and war mongers know that Glasgow does not want these purveyors war, death and destruction anywhere in our city. There is still time tomorrow to join these dedicated citizens and show your anger at this show of brutal citizen control, war, death and destruction. The city council should be held to task for allowing this market place for death and destruction anywhere near our city. When the blood dripping leeches leave our city, our anger should be turned on the hypocrites in the city council. They, by their action have tried to give the war mongers a stamp of legitimacy. Purveyors of death and destruction can never have a shred of legitimacy in any civilised country.
       Thanks Bob for the video:

Direct Action And Solidarity Are Winning Weapons.

Every city in the developed world faces it, redevelopment, gentrification, this type of procedure may not be "ethnic cleansing", but it is "class cleansing". Each area in the city or town must be made into a profit making entity, capital needs somewhere to gamble. So push out the low earners and bring in the big spenders, it is the foundation of this era of capitalism.
This "class cleansing" can be stopped, but only by community direct action and solidarity. So we raise a fist in solidarity with the residents of Southwark area who have forced the council to "temporarily" suspend its intended "class cleansing"
Southwark Council has been forced to bow to community pressure, temporarily shelving the redevelopment of Elephant and Castle shopping centre on a night which saw anti-gentrification protesters storm the council's offices.
Local residents - many from the area's Latin American community - and students, marched from the London College of Communication's (LCC) campus off the Elephant roundabout to the council offices on Tooley Street. As the march snaked through South London, protesters chanted demands for social housing - in a borough with a notoriously poor track record of providing it.
Outside the Council offices, protesters listened to impassioned speeches before the chant of "let us in" went up. Security gates blocking access to the foyer sprang open and the crowd rushed in to the foyer of the council building. Demonstrators had to be held back by security guards as meetings on the ground floor were evacuated.

As the protest continued inside the council offices, music was played and the crowd made space for some Latin dancing. The next track on was Skepta's Shutdown, reflecting the feeling that the planning committee meeting had been successfully disrupted - although that wasn't the case.
The threatened demolition of the Elephant and Castle shopping centre in South London has loomed over the space for over a decade. Those familiar with the area will be all too aware of the destruction of social housing on the nearby Heygate Estate, where over 1,200 homes have already been demolished by the local council, as well as the ongoing destruction of the nearby Aylesbury Estate and many of the other programs of estate “regeneration” taking place across the area.
Last night, Southwark Council’s planning committee met to discuss the proposed redevelopment of the shopping centre by Delancey (the objections to this redevelopment are covered in far more detail here). The proposals would see the shopping centre and LCC's campus demolished, to be replaced by a new development resituating the two alongside a new housing development featuring a staggeringly low 33 “affordable” homes out of the 979 promised.

Quote:
Massive love and respect to all those who came out today to support The Elephant community's opposition to the social cleansing of the area. The march up Borough High St was well spirited, noisy and powerful!!

Their Struggle Is Our Struggle.

An update on the Dakota Access Pipeline. This is a massive protest and is growing, it is directed against the greed and savage rape and plunder of our planet, which is all done for the bank accounts of the corporate masters, it is our struggle. The winter is really biting, these brave people need our support, thousands are braving extreme weather conditions, standing up for their principles. The state militarised police have tried to break them, let's make sure the weather doesn't.

"We Ask For Nothing, We Are Taking It All".

Only those unfortunate souls who glean their information from the babbling brook of bullshit, the mainstream media, see the system as working fine, but with odd and rare blips of some sort of “crisis”. They live in the smoke and mirrors of the propaganda fog produced by that mouth piece of the system, that wonderful illusion creating machine they call “The Media”. Cast your eyes towards the real world, and you see a different picture. You see poverty, deprivation, brutal wars, and state violence, a world awash with inequality and injustice, you also see a system in its death throes. However, you also see resistance, resistance to this continuous exploitation of the many by the few. Across the globe people are rising up and not demanding change, but creating change, you can’t demand freedom from a system that is built on, and can’t survive, without power and authority, you have to take it. There can be no compromise between capitalism and justice, the are totally incompatible.
From Russia to Canada, from Norway to Mexico, people are waking up to the fact that they hold the power, all they have to do is use that power, they now realise that capitalism is not the only game in town, it was not created in tablets of stone by some deity, it was man made, and can be man destroyed, for people to have justice and freedom, capitalism must go. However, the beast will not go quietly, it will not relinquish its power and privileges without a fight, it will use every dirty trick in the book backed up with raw brutal force. That's the price of justice and freedom.
These last two months (March-April) the streets of major cities in France have been transformed into fields of resistance, where mass protests and clashes are taking place in the framework of the general strikes which are against the new labour legislation of the government. Barricades, luxury cars and police cars burnt, cops and undercovers beaten, banks smashed, people masked up with stones in their hands, are some of the images that prove to us that in every corner of the earth the war against the state and capital still rages and that nothing is over…
“We ask for nothing, we are taking it all”, “No insurrection without fire”, “Destroy wage slavery” etc, are some of the chants from the black bloc and the anarchist groups that clash and express their
refusals in the street. As was expected, all that’s taking place could not be without the labour leaders and reformists who speak of provocateurs, liken the black bloc with the fascists, condemn the violent practices against the state and at the same time have relations with the police. Because, fortunately or unfortunately, pacifists and deniers of violence – whose existence clearly favors the rulers – are a global phenomenon. The time is near when they will get what they deserve.
At the same time, the forces of oppression use plenty of teargas, brutally beat protesters and arrest people. In a nutshell, they do everything under the orders of their superiors in order for them to protect their bosses and the peaceful citizens-subjects. It is more than obvious now that the economy is collapsing, resulting in it showing its real face: Hunger wages combined with wretched working conditions, that contribute to an inhumane middle ages-like work environment, where the worker is the modern slave on the production line. At the same time, repression intensifies and strengthens, in order for the police-state in the streets to become a daily routine and for whoever seeks the attack on the world of authority to hesitate to take action.
End the false dilemmas. Whoever chooses inactivity, chooses their chains. The moment is now, the place is here. From the streets of France to the alleyways of Chile, from the mountains of Mexico to the avenues of Athens. The whole world is a field of unrest!

Top Shop Is Bottom Of The Barrel.

The campaign to get rid of zero hours contracts and force the fast-food industry, among others, to pay a living wage, is certainly hotting up. Regards the fast-food industry, this is an international campaign, with a huge following in America. In the UK, Saturday 14th. May saw protests and demonstrations out side branches of Top Shop across the UK, with London probably being the biggest. Of course asking your bosses for a little more please, is not the full answer, justice in the work place will only come when we get rid of all the Philip Greens and the rest of the parasitical class that screws us day and daily. Justice for working people will only be achieved when we rid ourselves of this exploitative capitalist system. Anything less is just a compromise which can be taken back by the bosses when ever they feel strong enough. You want an end to injustice, you want an end to capitalism.

Troops To Libya, Replace Trident- We Have Lots Of Money!!!

Why isn't there thousands on the streets of our country? Our psychopathic imperialist lords and masters, scheming in the corridors of power in that edifice to imperialism, The Westminster Houses of Hypocrisy and Corruption, are now deliberating whether to send 1,000 British troops into Libya. Having bulldozed the will of the people and started bombing Syria, they now want more blood. Having failed to get the compliant government they wanted in Libya after they bombed it back to the stone age, they want another crack at it. They want to implant some sort of submissive regime that will do their bidding and allow them trouble free access to Libya's rich oil fields.
There will be no thought of the blood that will flow, both British young men and women, and innocents in Libya, the action will be whitewashed and delivered with smoke and mirrors, as helping the people of Libya. Their country is already a disaster area, which we helped to bring about, the last thing the people of that country want is a bunch of armed to the hilt, foreign troops blasting their way through their towns and cities, what's left of them.
This from Stop The War:
Get involved with Stop the War where you are
The establishment's appetite for yet more war hasn't subsided. Despite the catastrophic failure of military interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, which are ongoing, the UK elites are now also considering whether they might be able to bomb Libya again.
The anti-war movement continues to be a vital democratic force and a thorn in the side of the pro-war establishment. There is going to be a series of Stop the War events on the "war on terror" and on Trident across the country. Get involved where you are.

We are also supporting the Stand up to Racism demonstration against racism on 19th March and the People's Assembly march for health, homes, jobs and education on 16 April.

Stop Trident demonstration - 27th February, Central London

Despite what the pro-war media are telling us, polls show that the majority of the population opposes Trident renewal. An organised anti-war response can continue to seriously influence the debate.

You can get involved in the following ways:

Replacing and maintaining Trident may cost us £183 billion. It would be far more useful to humanity if these gigantic resources were instead invested in cancer research (for example). Instead of producing weapons of mass destruction, we could use this money to save millions of lives.

Resistance Is A Duty.

Is this getting organised, or just making a noise? We have to do something, or we will end up living in a totally privatised world, with the corporate bosses in full control. Though they are not that far off that position today. Under such a sustained attack on the ordinary people of this country, resistance on all fronts, is a duty, solidarity is our weapon for victory.
This from The People's Assembly:

Just three weeks since we launched the call for a week long protest & festival against the The Conservative Party Conference and we've been overwhelmed by the support from the public, organisations & campaigns. These events now have massive potential and it’s time to spread the excitement.  The Tories think they can take over Manchester from 4-7 October. They want to dominate the headlines with their politics of austerity, with their plans to further rip apart the welfare state. Let’s stop this from happening!
The People's Assembly, alongside unions, campaigns and local groups, is co-ordinating a national week of action in Manchester throughout their conference. All day, everyday, that they are there, we will be too. Coaches and transport is being organised from across the country. We are appealing to as many people as possible to take off a couple of days from work and stay for as much of the activity as you can.
Events will include a national demonstration (Sunday 4 October), meetings on topics including: Privatisation, Save our NHS, Climate Change, Education, TTIP, Europe, alternatives to austerity. Plus theatre performances, workshops, direct action, People's Cinema, comedy, music, flash mobs, tent cities & more...
Participants throughout the week include:
Jeremy Corbyn MP, Frankie Boyle, Charlotte Church, Sam Fairbairn, Frances O'Grady, Len McCluskey, Mark Serwotka, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Owen Jones, John Hillary, Terry Christian, Sam Duckworth, Kate Marlow, Mark McGowan, Kevin Maguire, Francesca Martinez, Mark Steel, Jeremy Hardy, Dave Ward, Sara Pascoe, David Walker (Bishop of Manchester), Lindsey German...and more to be announced!
Accomodation:
The People's Assembly will be providing cheap accommodation for a couple of quid a night. This won't be glamorous . As it stands we are booking a large sports centre in the evenings where people can sleep. Toilets & shower facilities will be available and we're in discussions with organisations about providing discounted food for those staying over. You'll need to bring a sleeping bag and camping mat. We'll organise somewhere to store bags and belongings during the day. Full details and booking will be available in the next couple of weeks. Alternatively you can book yourself into hostels or hotels. Click here for local hostels We'll keep you updated with all arrangements.
Transport:
Keep checking the People's Assembly website for updates about what coaches have been booked, where they are picking up from and when.
Let’s get organised!!

I Am The Crowd.

Deep in every heart lies the desire to be free, it can lie dormant for generations, but it is still there, and one day it will burst forth and its light will chase the darkness of repression and exploitation from the face of the Earth.

Gazi to Gezi – a stone’s throw away (2015)
Produced by Ross Domoney and Ozan Kamiloglu
Script written by Ozan Kamiloglu with the inspiration of Arkadas Özger
Filmed, edited and directed by Ross Domoney
Performancy by Sarah Karakus
Music by Giorgos Triantafillou
Live music performance by Iskender Ozan Toprak

I Am The Crowd

I am the crowd
I swim in the quagmire of poverty
its hooks, its barbs, tear my fleah
rupture my dreams,
I hold my breath for centuries
hoping to break through, gasp pure air.
Through the murky mire
I see bright things, shiny things, sparkle
I see women in fine dresses, men in silk shirts
I ask myself,
why do I swim in this cesspool?

I want the light and warmth of rectitude
to caress my labouring body,
seeds of my dreams to bloom
like wild flowers in a meadow.
One day I will use my boundless strength
to haul this torn, battered being
out of the morass
onto the warm grassy bank,
when I do;
woe betide you, women in fine dresses
woe betide you mister in your fine silk shirt
should you ever try to get in my way,
for I am the strength of the world
I am the crowd.

Net Neutrality, Is Almost There.

The fight for net neutrality is starting to look like a success story, not quite yet, but it could be in sight. All because of world wide solidarity and mobilisation. Together we can change the world, on many more fronts.
The first thing I read this morning gave me chills.

The New York Times ran a front page story about how enemies of net neutrality are on the retreat, and that tomorrow, we could see the biggest open Internet victory of our lives. [1]
Bottom line: together, we are on the cusp of an absolutely unbelievably epic victory for net neutrality. Do you want to savor it? Watch this video we made!
We whipped up this fun little video to mark the “final” moments of the Internet Countdown, and to look back on how we got here, together. It’s so mind blowing to think how all these online protests, real life camp-outs, calls, emails and epic stunts snowballed into what could be the biggest win of our lives. It could be even bigger than defeating SOPA. [2][3]
Keep an eye on the news tomorrow, and remember: activism works. When tons of people come together with a clear vision, nothing’s impossible. Really! Getting to where we are right now was supposed to be impossible!!
Can’t watch a video right now? Would you rather be scolding some politicians on the phone? Then click here to start making phone calls!
The House Energy and Commerce subcommittee just had a hearing today whose sole purpose was to kill net neutrality with partisan confusion. That’s what we’re up against now, and we need to smack it down hard if we want to defend any victory. Click here to call these committee members, and stay on the line for as long as you like; we’ll keep connecting you with more of them… until you hang up or your phone runs out of batteries :)

     Thanks for everything you do,

Faslane Demo, Trident Must Go.

Scrap Trident demonstration at Faslane on November 30, 2014.

The recent referendum on Scottish independence has certainly spark the Scottish people to voice their opinion in all manner of affairs. This was seen on Sunday, 30 November, at Faslane nuclear submarine base, where over 1,000 gathered to show their hatred  of this anti-civilisation weapon. Well done, thousands more are with you in solidarity. They came in bus loads from all over the country and marched on the gates of the base chanting such slogans as "Not here, not anywhere, Trident must go". It is obvious that the people of Scotland don't want this criminal weaponry on their land. This collection of unbelievable destructive illegal weaponry has no place in a civilised country. To rub salt on the wound, our millionaire cabal of Oxbridge parasites, that control our lives, is inflicting savage cuts to the social fabric of all our lives, while spending millions on this type of criminal weaponry. They have already spent £37 million on 12 new nuclear missile launchers, before the matter was debated in parliament, and are bring 14 more submarines to this base. The actions of war warmongering imperialists.

protest: Activists gather at the entrance to Faslane naval base near Helensburgh. Picture: Robert Perry
Let's hope that the energy that the people put into the independence debate can be transferred to getting this criminal weaponry dispatched from this country. Perhaps we could then go on to change the whole structure of the society that we tolerate at the moment.

Remember Gezi Park?

Remember Gezi Park protests in Turkey, if you do it will be thanks to our babbling brook of bullshit, the mainstream media. Well, despite the silence from those meant to inform, and the brutal repression from the regime, the protests go on and have moved forward. Turkey has not seen many peaceful days since Gezi Park, squats and workers control have been growing, people are resisting the privatisation of public spaces, and the regimes covert support of ISIS has brought more protests on to the streets. There is also a growing awareness by the people, that Turkey is an economic bubble about to burst. Under the glitzy veneer of skyscrapers, opulent shopping malls and an avalanche of "must have" labels, anger is growing, and not just in Turkey, but across the whole of the creaking capitalist edifice. As the gap between rich and poor grows, so does the anger. Can the day of reckoning be far off?
