Victory.

I received this as a comment from comrade Loam, but thought it worthy of a post rather than a comment. Laid bare is the blatant corruption of the state apparatus thugs, even their own loaded judicial system couldn't swallow the crap they produced as "evidence". Today our flag flies that bit higher, our voice that bit louder.

Today we are experiencing a magnificent, complete and definitive victory in this trial which has turned out to be a conspiracy by the State against two members of Rouvikonas.
Giorgos and Nikos risked life imprisonment this morning for murder, based on false testimony. But the prosecution witnesses have exposed the police manipulations and the prosecution has changed sides: the power has unmasked itself in its desire to violently neutralize the Greek anarchist group by classifying it as criminal organizations.
Today, Giorgos and Nikos are free and the Rouvikonas group grows stronger. As the numerous messages that reach us show, the entire social movement recognizes itself in this victory, which is also theirs, against a Machiavellian and unscrupulous power. This victory also has no borders: it is also yours, you who, more than 2000 km away, mobilize in various ways in support of this crucial fight.
A big thank you to all the support we receive from around the world, prove once again that we are everywhere!
Our utopias are alive, resistant and persevering! The day will come when thieves of lives will be stripped of their pedestal and common interest will guide our thoughtful and concerted decisions. The day will come when we will go from the noun "power" to the verb "power", from the domination of others to the ability to freely choose our lives. The day will come when collective intelligence will end the agony of the Earth and those who inhabit it.
Only those who give up have already lost. There is no reason to despair, but to act with determination to denounce the absurdity of authoritarian society and the collective suicide that is capitalism. We are the side of life against the side of death. We are the ones who authentically carry the motto Liberty-Equality-Fraternity, and not the political leaders who usurp these words, because we propose concrete freedom, real equality and universal brotherhood.
This morning, at the end of the three trial sessions, the 3 judges and the 4 jurors found Giorgos and Nikos innocent: our comrades were unanimously acquitted. This 7-0 victory allows us to eliminate any possibility of appeal from the prosecution. Therefore, victory is final. We will celebrate tonight and tomorrow thinking of you!

Thanks again! The fight continues!

The international support committee of Giorgos and Nikos, Exarcheia on November 25, 2021.

Enemies Of The State.

The state is all about control, control of the population to make sure that wealth, privileges and power stay where they are. They will do all they can to silence, stifle or intimidate those who would dare to speak out against this unequal and unjust system. They are the strong arm enforcers of the capitalist system. Some states do this in a quiet underhand subtle manner others are more open on their brutal attack on dissident voices, useing, apart from open violence, completely fabricated scenarios and false evidence to put those dissident voices in cages to try to keep their voices from being heard and turn them into subservient citizens.
Anarchists are always at the forefront of the attack on this authoritarian  system of privileges and power to the wealthy pampered few, while trying to create a society of mutual aid, where the people control their own lives in communities of co-operation linked to like communities, a world of equality and sustainability, that sees to the needs of all our people. So these are the people that the state fears most, those struggling to change the entire system, so these are the ones on which the state will come down hardest. Lies, fabrication, false evidence and raw brutality will be its tools, whichever it feels will work to preserve the status quo. It would be prudent for those in the areas controlled by the more subtle states to be warned that the other tools are still in the tool box of the so called democratic states.

The Continual Anarchist Witch Hunt & the Scenario of State Incompetence
Only a few weeks ago comrades in Tangerang were arrested for graffiti and the media sensationalized the arrests followed by false information from police declaring that on the 18th of April the Indonesian anarchists had planned mass looting nation wide. This was proven false. Moreover police were trying to make a ridiculous scenario in which a petit criminal they caught was forced to do a live video declaring himself as “The sole leader of the anarchists”, fortunately this video has become a national joke. Even before, many of the activists and journalists criticized police evidence concerning books. Police confiscated books and showed them off to the media and it was mostly non-political books, many of these books were fiction or non-fiction reports that were published legally. Hence, it is concluded that this evidence — books —are not court materials. But the Indonesian police are more than ready to exaggerate their own stupidity. Mass looting, prison riots, and even people dying of hunger has already happened throughout Indonesia.
The Absurd Arrests and the Isolation of the Defendants
Most of the defendants concerning the case were mostly doing graffiti. While it is clear that the graffiti was to incite riots, the state and the police seem so myopic or they’re consciously doing it to divert from the real issues as part of their strategy to veil the whole incompetency of the state in dealing with the crisis. Young anarchists were arrested in West Java and more recently in the city of Malang, East Java. This case is different to that of the Tangerang anarchists, the anarchists in Malang were arrested just because they were directly involved in social struggles against land grabbing, state corporations, and other grassroots struggles, one media report went as far as saying that the prosecution of these anarchists is just because, or as the police statement to the media said: “they are anti-capitalist.” These state scenarios smell like rotten eggs coming from idiotic bureaucrats.

One of the more outrageous arrests that occurred just a few days before was of a journalist who is very critical of government policy. Ravio Patra wrote about the state’s falsification of information about COVID-19 and published a comprehensive article on an independent news portal. Afterwards, his Whatsapp account was hacked — Whatsapp officials stated that it was true, his Whatsapp account was breached — and that all of a sudden he received messages via his account saying that “its already crisis, its time to burn, lets loot on 30th of April”. Before this Ravio already contacted some experts about why he couldn’t seem to control his own account. Not many hours after, he was out of contact. Until most of his friends and advocacy groups confirmed that he had already been arrested.
We can say that the bureaucrats and police acted recklessly but in this time of pandemic it seems they can do whatever they want to prosecute anyone, especially people connected to the anarchists. In this latest scenario, we can see how the Indonesian state acted in a totalitarian manner. We will not go down in silence. This anarchist witch hunt has got to stop and we cannot beg the state to do it for us. Their absolute incompetency and their rotting infrastructures will go down. Down with surveillance and the society of control, decompose the state right now!
PS: The funny thing is that most anarchists in Indonesia are and were involved in countless public kitchens in a form of mutual aid and the state are and were always trying to criminalize everything.
We are the criminals, we don’t fucking value your laws. We’re going to help you die soon.

Wealth From Death.

The British state always works hand in glove with the arms industry, it is a big boost to the UK GDP, and is sold to us as creating jobs. The human cost matters nothing to the state or its partners, the arms industry. We sell weapons to any despot ruler, autocratic regime, or military junta, irrespective of its human rights violations. For months the people of Chile have been on the streets in mass protests against a government that is corrupt, in the pocket of big business and the US, dictatorial and involved in a very brutal and vicious repression of the protestors. Protestors have died from police brutality on the street or later at home or in hospital. So in steps the democratic UK and supplies this cesspool of corruption and brutality with arms and crowd control equipment, helping the UK economy. Which translates into making millions for greedy shareholders and CEO. This action by the UK state should have the people of this country on the streets in protest against this ruthless money making inhumanity. We should also be on the streets in solidarity with the struggling people  of Chile.

In early February, mourners came together to remember the life of 37-year-old Jorge Mora – a man whose life ended on 28 January, hours after a police truck slammed into him outside a football stadium.
The funeral in Chile’s capital city of Santiago was supposed to be a peaceful affair for Mora’s family and friends, as well as the many football supporters who came to pay their respects. But, when grief turned to anger and demonstrations broke out, the peace was shattered.
Protestors and mourners were soon fleeing stinging tear gas fired off by riot police who showed little care for where and who they aimed at. Many escaped to safety, but one was not so lucky – a tear gas canister slammed into the the head of 24-year-old Ariel Moreno. The impact was so devastating that he was dead two days later.----

Haiti, Born Of A Slave Rebellion, Returns To Rebellion.

Haiti over the centuries has had more than its fair share of problems mainly from three imperialist powers, Spanish, French and American. Its people are among the poorest on the planet. 59% of the people of Haiti live in poverty, around 25% live in extreme poverty, and less than 50% of households have access to clean water. On top of this they have had years of corrupt puppet governments looting the wealth of the country. So it should be no surprise that the people are erupting in righteous anger. Born from a slave rebellion its people are once again in rebellion.
At the moment the people of Haiti are destroying the institutions of a capitalism and a corrupt state. Petrol stations are burning the Haitian Union Bank has been looted and set on fire
This from Its Going Down:

Revolutionaries destroyed police headquarters, attacked residences of government officials, and burned a jail and courts to the ground in different parts of Haiti on Friday. Insurgents are fighting to overthrow the corrupt right-wing regime of Jovenel Moise, who is backed by the US. Four people died in clashes in recent days, with many reports of injuries.
In June, judges of Haiti’s High Court of Auditors said in a report that Moise was at the center of an “embezzlement scheme” that had siphoned off Venezuelan aid money intended for road repairs, laying out a litany of examples of corruption and mismanagement. The aid money came through Venezuela’s PetroCaribe program, which had allowed Haiti to buy petroleum products at discount and on credit.
However, the program has now been suspended for more than a year because of the interests of US imperialism, which backs the Haitian regime and has supported coup attempts to install a right-wing regime in Venezuela. The suspension has meant that Haiti’s long-suffering people have been faced with an extra burden: an ever-worsening fuel shortage that has resulted in closed service stations, rising prices and long lines to buy petrol.
In the wealthy suburb Petion Ville, entire blocks were set ablaze. Protesters successfully drove the police out of Cité Soleil, Port-au-Prince’s poorest neighborhood. Revolutionaries completely destroyed the UDMO/police headquarters. Heavily armed units of police abandoned it after hours of attacks by residents with molotov cocktails and showers of rocks. The UDMO (Departmental Unit for the Maintenance of Order), who have murdered many Haitian people to protect the corrupt Moise regime in power, have been trained by the US state in Austin, Texas where an “Executive Leadership” training course was set up for Haitian security forces.
In Gonaives, a city in northern Haiti, government offices were burned. In Port-Au-Prince, all government offices were closed, as protesters sang and danced in streets for the fall of the US/Trump-backed government of Moise.
Revolutionaries have blocked roadways with barricades, using anything in their disposal from debris to burning tires since early on Friday. The central court and jail have been burned to the ground in Jacmel, southern Haiti after prisoners arrested in the last round of protests were liberated.
Police reportedly were met with armed resistance in the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital. Armed individuals also reportedly attacked residences of government officials, including the head of the courts responsible for clearing Jovenel Moise of PetroCaribe corruption charges, Pierre Volmar Demesyeux.
Revolutionaries destroyed police headquarters, attacked residences of government officials, and burned a jail and courts to the ground in different parts of Haiti on Friday. The courthouse in the community of Petit-Goâve, southwest of Port-au-Prince, has also been set ablaze, according to people on the ground.
Two Sogebank branches in Haiti were attacked by insurgents on Friday. They are no longer simply demanding the resignation of the fraudulently installed puppet president, but the end of the looting by oligarch families, like the owners of this bank, who steal 90% of the wealth.
As Haiti comes to the brink of revolution, overthrowing the regime of Moise, insurgents are also attacking the systems of capitalism and imperialism that have enforced the poverty and despair of the Haitian people.

The Corporate Government Merry-go-round.

From time to time I look back at what I have written, just to see if anything has changed, or did I get it wrong. Quite often my little delve into the past just confirms my beliefs. This little blast from the past, something I wrote about 3 years ago, still rings true, and in my humble opinion is probably more relevant to day than then.

The Stench From That Thing Called Capitalism, Feb. 1st. 2016.

Big business and government are so intertwined, that it is impossible to separate them. Corporations spend millions, if not billions, on lobbyists, politicians are offered lucrative positions, and little perks here and there, but of course, they'll tell you, that they are not influenced by these matters. They'll deal with each issue on its merits, with the welfare of the country and its people always to the fore, and the corporations will still continue to spend those millions or billions, just as a kindness to politicians, and get nothing in return. Isn't it a wonderful world? It is safe to bet that all politicians are relatively rich, most will have their filthy lucre, stashed away in shares in those very corporations that are pouring money into their little slush fund. We are expected to believe that none of these politicians would ever nudge legislation in the direction of helping their share portfolio, and might at times move to jeopardise their little stash.
A world built on corruption, designed to further the wealth of big business and protect the wealth of those in power. It is not with little thought that I refer to our lords and masters place of business as the Westminster Houses of Hypocrisy and Corruption. Those who enter its marble halls by on large are very rich, when they leave, they are invariably, extremely more rich than when they entered. Big business makes sure of that. Out of generosity of course.
If all this lead to was a group of parasites getting richer under false pretences, then it would be bad enough. However, their wheeling and dealing, their slicing and dicing, plays havoc with the health and well-being of the people they are supposed to represent. Decisions are made that drive people into poverty, ill-health, homelessness and of course heap the brutality of war on millions. History tells us the tales of hypocrisy and corruption are at the heart of governments, of the festering marriage between large companies and governments, but we never seem to learn.
The following from the Politics in the Zeros site, is a case in America, but you are an idiot if you think this is unique to America, this is the way the game is played nowadays. Governments are not inanimate objects, nor are they fixed by the power of the holy tablets of stone. They are made up of people, usually very rich, very ambitious and very greed people, they play the game with the big boys, corporations, and in return for their obedience to the cause of profit, they are rewarded.
Gosh there’s no conflict of interest here. Nearly a third of members of the federal Interagency Pain Research Coordinating Committee have financial ties to companies selling opoid drugs. In a shocking coincidence the panel has strongly opposed federal plans to recommend doctors scale back on prescribing legal heroin. Because that’s what these opoids are.
Our government is essentially a drug pusher for highly addictive drugs. The FDA approved OxyContin for children without bothering to convene a panel of experts to make recommendations. Opiate addiction from legally prescribed pills is a major health problem nationwide among adults, to such an extent we have the obscenity of TV ads offering drugs to help with constipation caused by using opiates.
Any relation between this and a government that actually cares about the health of its citizens is of course strictly coincidental. And if this happened in a Third World country, we’d laugh at how corrupt they are.
The government advisory panel consists of federal scientists, outside academics and patient representatives. Of the 18 committee members at a recent meeting to discuss the government’s handling of pain issues, at least five had drug-industry connections.
One, a pain specialist from Duke University, has received thousands of dollars in payments from drugmakers, including OxyContin-maker Purdue Pharma and Teva Pharmaceuticals, which sells generic painkillers. Another, a patient advocate, holds a nonprofit position created by a $1.5 million donation by Purdue.
We should always remember, we are governed by consent, we can withdraw our consent at any time of our choosing, and start to take control of our own lives, how about now!

The Corporate Juggernaut And Genocide.

The horror, death and destruction that is Syria, is difficult to grasp, the scale of the deaths, maiming and total decimation of the country's infrastructure is Armageddon, here and now. No matter how you look at it, the greatest destruction and deaths on the planet are perpetrated by the so called "developed countries". This is how they attempt to dominate the world, state violence by their military might, taking sides and creating fields of blood and slaughter to determine who controls certain swaths of the planet, and the resources there in. Of course the various states don't always use their military killing machines, sometimes it is their corporate bed partners that do the damage with the backing and support of the state.
I don't think you'll find our babbling brook of bullshit, the mainstream media, reporting this case of genocide, being carried out by a corporate juggernaut with the backing of a state that weaves the usual duplicity, and creates the necessary legislation to make it all "legal".
In Columbia the Wayuu people have for countless generations relied on the Rancheria river, it is their main source of life, their only drinking water in the area for the people, animals and irrigation of the land. Now by duplicity, smoke and mirror illusion, it has gone, mainly to feed a large mining corporation. The Wayuu people are dying a slow death, while the corporate mining juggernaut gets richer and richer. The festering marriage of capitalism and the state at work.  When it comes to profit, people are expendable.
A father and son observe the remnants of the Rancheria river on Wayuú land / The Cercado dam and reservoir

Colombia’s largest indigenous group, the Wayuú, have been left for dead after the Colombian government diverted the Rancheria river to South America’s largest coal mine in 2011.
Five years ago, Colombia’s government completed the construction of the Cercado dam, a project they claimed would improve the lives of all in the arid Guajira region by supplying 9 towns with a second source of drinking water, employing 1,000 workers and providing irrigation for 18,500 hectares of farmland. However, the dam’s impact on the lives of Colombia’s largest indigenous ethnic group, the Wayuú people, was ignored entirely. The river was the only source of drinking water available near the Wayuú and its disappearance from the landscape has had dire consequences. Now, the Wayuú must walk over three hours to water wells filled with dangerous bacteria and salt, making health complications and diarrhea the new normal.
The area is entirely devoid of clinics and hospitals. Without the river, the Wayuú can no longer cultivate their land, leaving them not only thirsty, but hungry as well. Since the dam was completed in 2011, over 4,700 children, most of them under the age of five, have died from thirst or other complications associated with a lack of clean drinking water. Of course, these are only the documented deaths. The Wayuú, whose population now hovers around 100,000, say that more than 14,000 have died.
Did the Colombian government live up to its lofty promises of offering water to new communities and farms? It turns out the largest beneficiary of the Cercado dam is a giant coal mine, known as Cerrejón, that uses more than 17 million liters of water a day while the Wayuú lives off of less than 0.7 liters a day per person, though their water is often too salty to drink. Cerrejón, whose logo reads “responsible mining,” is South America’s largest pit coal mine and produces an estimated 32 million tons of coal annually.
Though originally founded by ExxonMobil, the mine is now jointly owned by a consortium of some of the largest mining companies in the world – AngloAmerican, BHP Billiton, and Xstrata. The Wayuú and their leaders have worked tirelessly to try to confront these mining behemoths who have stolen their water and threatened them with extinction. However, the mining companies often work with right-wing paramilitary groups, who are responsible for the deaths of thousands, in order to get what they want. The Colombian government is also uninterested in improving life for the Wayuú as its mining ministers are notoriously corrupt. Just this March, Colombia’s mining minister resigned amid a corruption probe.

Sticky Fingered Ermined Parasites.

Men in funny dresses, trying to keep up with the women.
We in the UK still wallow in the putrid swamp that is imperialism, we spend millions of pounds on keeping its symbols alive, just to reminder us, the ordinary plebs, of who is the real power in our land. Within those ageing buildings known as the Westminster Houses of Hypocrisy and Corruption, there is a section that goes by the name of The House of Lords. I thought that in a Christian country there was only one Lord, but we seem to have a house full of them, all of them as equally useless as the Christian one. The army of ermined parasites who are privileged to sit in that hallowed hall are those who have arse licked enough to help cement the power of the privileged. This cabal of ermined parasites are no different from their counterparts in "that other chamber" known as "The Commons", in so much as a lot of them have sticky fingers, and seemed to be drawn to an open till.

In their publicly  subsidised club, it appears that if you sign in, a nice little deposit of £300 will be dropped into you bank account. Being a shrewd bunch some of them have grasped that all you have to do is sign in, then pop off to get on with your life elsewhere, and you have a little more spending money to the tune of £300. Some of course do sign in, and then go on into the place, but make their way to the publicly subsidised restaurant and bar, partake of their pleasure, then bugger off again, being "fed and waatered" on the cheap, at our expense, and £300 the richer. Apparently, one member was noted to arrive, ask his taxi driver to keep the engine running while ran in, signed in, then buggered off, £300 the richer. Just play that game five days a week and you have £1,500 to play with, a nice little sideline over and above you earnings.
The fact that this was becoming known, the club decided to let one of their own investigate this matter, but after months of investigation, the ermined lady in charge decided to drop the investigation. Her reasoning, it seems, was that she did not want to name and shame those greedy sticky finger bastards, as it would be likely to cause a media frenzy. Who says crime doesn't pay.

Do We Ask The Corrupt To Clean Up The Corruption?

How do you deal with corruption in high places when the judiciary are part of that corruption? Not a rhetorical question, as it is commonplace among most, if not all, modern capitalist countries. Do you appeal to those in high places, who are part and parcel of that corruption, to come clean and behave themselves, or what? Let's face it, whoever enters politics, no matter where they start from, and are elected to the dark corridors of power, leave their job much, much richer than when they entered. While in almost all other jobs, that doesn't happen. Makes you think!!
This from To Bhma, (To Vima)

The militant Conspiracy of Fire Cells (SPF) group has assumed responsibility for the bomb attack in Exarchia on Wednesday evening. In a statement uploaded on the Athens Indymedia site, the group explains that it targeted the prosecutor Georgia Tsatani.
According to the statement the bomb attack was carried out for two main reasons. The first reason cited by the group is the prosecutor’s involvement in a para-judicial network that protected business and political interests. The group claims that Mrs. Tsatani saw to is so that Andreas Vgenopoulos avoided a certain conviction by filing away the relevant case-file.
Mrs. Tsatani was also accused by the group of ‘forgetting’ to forward to Parliament the case-file regarding Evangelos Meimarakis’ involvement in bribery scandal during his tenure as Minister of National Defense, in exchange for the appointment of Mrs. Tsatani’s daughter and husband as New Democracy candidates.
The second reason for the attack, the group argues, was the prosecutor’s participating in the ‘judicial campaign’ and ‘unethical blackmail’ against imprisoned members of the group. The statement concludes with the group promising to issue a more detailed manifesto on its ‘Nemesis’ operation.

Workers, Know Your History. San Francisco 1916.

Across the centuries states have knowingly been the perpetrators of miscarriages of justice, some come to light, others never see the light of day, they just become statistics in some judiciary report. What is today considered by some, to be a modern phenomenon, "acts of terrorism" have often been grasp by the state as an opportunity to strengthen its grip on society, and to rid itself of those it considers a problem. 100 years ago, what was San Francisco's worst act of "terrorism" was one such event that brought about one of America's worst "miscarriage of justice"
A brutal bomb attack on a crowded street on a day of war triumphalism, saw two innocent men spend years in prison, one under the sentence of death. The usual ingredients were there, corrupt officials, compliant lacks serving those officials, lying witnesses and a bitter anti trade union and anti socialist/anarchist bias. That was 100 years ago, how many such cases of this type of "miscarriage of justice" can you recall, and how much do you think things have changed?

As members of the Grand Army of the Republic assembled at the Ferry Building, awaiting the start of San Francisco's lavish Preparedness Day parade, one elderly veteran fainted. Just as an ambulance reached the fallen man, a explosion shook Market Street.
When the dust settled, a bloody scene painted the street. The sidewalks ran red and "all around the bodies of men and women, almost stripped of their clothes, lay in horrible grotesque heaps," wrote the Chronicle. Windows blocks away were shattered. Ten were dead, including one child, and another 40 injured.
It remains the only terrorist attack in San Francisco history.-------
And so the sham of justice moves into action:

Despite the shocking blast, the parade went on as scheduled. Bodies were still on the street when the parade continued on over the broken, bloody ground. Among the rubble, police found the bomb on Steuart and Market: a suitcase packed with bullets and shrapnel and set off with a timed explosion. Without a scrap of evidence, they knew who to blame.
"A man who would commit so dastardly and cowardly an outrage must be a man with anarchistic principles," San Francisco police chief D.A. White said.
When district attorney Charles Flickert arrived at the scene, he told reporters, "You know, men, I already think I know who did this."
Five days later, police arrested William K. Billings, 22, and Thomas J. Mooney, 33, without warrants. Billings, a shoe cutter from New York, was already well-known to police. He'd been arrested for the assault of the foreman at a shoe company in 1913 and had recently been found carrying explosives on a street car in Sacramento. But he was just the lackey, prosecutors argued. Mooney was the true mastermind.
Mooney had been on the police radar for years despite having no criminal record. He was one of the city's foremost radical leaders, a well-known socialist in the labor community. With the country roiling in anti-socialist sentiment, it's perhaps no surprise Billings and Mooney were singled out.
And the willing public had no qualms playing along, despite a complete lack of evidence.-------

Detail;s Of The Nikos Romanos Story.

A detailed report on the story behind Nikos Ramanos, of the state's two standards of justice, one for bankers, and one for those who oppose the systems corruption. Bankers who robbed the banks of millions and charged with fraud, allowed to walk free, while those who dare to oppose this system are brutally assaulted and imprisoned and denied their just rights.
Post image for Tides of relief: Nikos Romanos wins victory in hunger strike
Few doubt that the young anarchist was refused educational leave as a punishment for his ideas, by a government eager to show that it will not tolerate radical dissent. Romanos demanded from the state, which he intensely abhors, that it recognize his legal rights, which the state is supposed to guarantee for all. He never stole from the public purse nor from citizens; rather he attempted to rob one of the banks which was never brought to account for its part in the economic debacle of the country. No one failed to notice the irony of young anarchists being brutally persecuted for an unsuccessful and bloodless bank robbery by the very same people who treat those convicted of large-scale theft of public money and violent crimes with utmost lenience.

ROTTEN AT THE HEART.

There is something rotten at the heart of the state. It is a system of repression, corruption, hypocrisy, greed, and stinks the air we breathe.
This from The Greek Streets:

Journalist Vaxevanis was just arrested after publicizing the list of Greek taxdodgers

Today is national day in Greece, forces of police and military police are guarding the army parades and the governmental politicians who will are watching them. At the same time, police one hour ago raided the house of a journalist who published a list with Greek tax-dodgers two days ago. The list that the  journalist Costas Vaxevanis published was available to the Minister of Economics for a couple of years now, who had decided to keep it secret and take no more actions.
Greece, but it could be any where in the Western world, like I said, there is something rotten at the heart of the state.

BEHEADING, CORRUPTION AND THE UK'S BLIND EYE.

The arms industry is a true capitalist enterprise, devoid of any morals. Since 1960 the regime of Saudi Arabia have been a major purchaser of UK made arms. This is not just a series of corporate manufacturers selling to the highest bidder, the hand of the UK state is involved in most of these deals as they are government to government contracts. Governments are expert at putting nice names to despicable affairs, recently BAE arms manufacturer sold 72 Euro fighters to Saudi Arabia, at a cost of £4.4 billion, the project was named The Salam (Peace) Project. UK corporate business with the help and blessing of the UK government, makes billions supplying all manner of weapons to what is probably one of the most repressive regimes on the planet. This regime of Royal despots rule over a country that as well as brutal repression, is in the eyes of most observers is rife with corruption on a massive scale. The Guardian has ran numerous reports of allegations of corruption at the highest level.. In 2004, following revelations about a £60 million "slush fund", the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) began an investigation. There were further allegations in June 2007 that BAE, with approval of the UK’s Ministry of Defence, had made payments worth hundreds of millions of pounds since 1985 to bank accounts under the personal control of Prince Bandar, the son of Prince Sultan. On 14th December 2006 the SFO announced that it was stopping its investigation. CAAT and The Corner House challenged the decision in the courts. In April 2008 the High Court ruled that the SFO had acted unlawfully in curtailing the inquiry, but this ruling was overturned by the House of Lords on 30th July 2008. More information about the case and documents which were released during it can be viewed here.

The whole thing stinks.

Saudi Arabia is also a country that beheads people, for among other things, the crime of sorcery. The latest case of this was a 60 year old woman who was headed for the crime of sorcery, and recently a man was beheaded for the same crime, it seems he told fortunes. This year alone the Saudis have executed 79 people, 5 of them women, compared to 27 for the whole of last year. It is obvious that they are stepping up the repression with one eye on the “Arab Spring”. It is criminal, but to be expected, that the UK state considers Saudi Arabia to among its “friendly” allies.
