Our Enemy.

 

             So often many people are taking sides in this latest imperialist blood-letting, "nasty evil Russia" or bully "American imperialism". We would do well to remember that no matter the excuses raised for war, it is always the ordinary people who shed their blood and it is always the rich and powerful who reap the blood stained spoils. The only side we should take is against all states and borders, against all power groups of state/corporate plunders of the planet, we have no enemies among the ordinary people, our real enemy is the borders raised by the privileged, rich, powerful groups who shape the direction of society, all to enhance their already over privileged and powerful positions. When it comes to supporting a war, the motto of the ordinary people should be Non Serviam, I will not serve, that doesn't mean we should be apathetic and ignore the blood letting by the pampered privileged parasites of this world. We should direct our anger at the power mongers, the state apparatus and their bedfellows, the corporate world. We have no fight with teachers, bus drivers, farmers or lorry drivers, our fight must be with rich and powerful who foster and ferment wars and divisions between ordinary people of the world.

Take Sides.

       You don't like violence, then few people do, so when looking at the violence in our world, where should you direct your anger? At the unimaginable brutal, savage violence of states that bomb cities and countries killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people for power and wealth, that put police armed like robo-cop on the streets of our communities, or those same states that promote and protect corporate organisations that plunder the planet to the extinction of our ecosystem? Or those who would pick up a stone and throw it at the openly violent face of that state apparatus, or who attack the symbols of that violent state machine in hope of bring an end to the whole violent structure of the modern corporate/state system of capitalism? The state is violence, it can only survive by the violent repression of dissent, the state and capitalism are two fangs of the same vicious economic system that spawns mass poverty, deprivation, homelessness, wars, divisions between people across the planet, gross inequality and injustice, these are all degrees of violence. So why shouldn't those at the receiving end of this brutal system take to self defence and fight to destroy it, in an attempt to bring peace and equality to to all our people. When you stand and condemn violence in our society, be thoughtful and careful with which side you stand.

AI Society.

        Covid19, call it what you will, from conspiracy to accident, from inevitable to act of God, from human destruction of nature to error at biological weapons factory, whatever is your poison, you have to admit, it has been a wonderful opportunity for the big corporate beasts and the state. The big boys are all in overdrive to make the most of this pandemic, thousands of small business will go under, the big beasts will survive, grasping at billions in taxpayers money, slashing wages and conditions paying off millions across the globe. At the same time allowing them to monopolise the field if or whenever the economy picks up. At the same time organising to get more automation, more part-time working, working from home and more precarious livelihoods for those who still have a job.
      What we are witnessing is the largest, fastest transformation of society since capitalism was born. The state is pushing ahead with total control, setting ridged limits in the way you live your life, and doing it all "for your benefit". While the corporate world tears to shreds any semblance of a welfare state or public assets, the state apparatus is doing its damnedest to create that submissive population necessary to keep the lid on the anger and frustration that will surely start to boil up. At the moment the evil twins, capitalism and the state, are in control and we, the ordinary people at the receiving end of all this, seem to be unable use the pandemic as an opportunity to shape the evolving future to our needs and desires, while they organise and get on with their agenda.

While prepping the citizenry for coming and required “certifications”, the deliberate and violent contraction of the economy continues. The decimation of small enterprise with monetary wealth directed, again, upward. McDonald’s, Starbucks and Walmart (“essential services”) remain open while small business is forced to remain closed. On April 13 2020, Amazon announced they would hire Amazon will hire an additional 75,000 workers to keep up with its soaring volume of online sales.

           In this crazy world, 

half dead from dereliction

half brutalised from deprivation

half drowned in a sea of greed

half devoured by perpetual need.

           Where

war shrieks from East to West

famine seldom seems to rest

hunger stalks the layman's life

poverty kills with a silent knife.

           We find

a pompous pampered arrogant cliche

live a life that's smooth and sleek

far removed from want and fear,

bought with another's sweat and tear.

          Yet

not a word do they speak

to aid the fallen or the weak

preferring to kneel at luxury's shrine

repeating their mantra, "This is mine".

          Now watch them

peddle lies of tongue and pen

slyly hoard their plunder then

with spurious sanctimonious phrase

shed crocodile tears at man's malaise.

           Where

is it written that the masses must sweat

deprivation and misery a constant threat

covering the world in measureless wealth

Kids As Cannon Fodder For Imperialism!!!

      Everybody knows, or should know, that the British military is there to defend and further the British imperialist state, forget that crap about defending peace and democracy, we have never had either. So it seems, that more and more people are staying clear of the military recruiting offices. However, this is a problem for the state, it needs cannon fodder to do its dirty work, when it comes to defending its plunder in other countries, or when it feels it can move in and grab some more of other countries' natural resources, Iraqi and Libyan oil to mention just a couple. They come up with totally misleading propaganda adverts, appealing to the easily misguided or vulnerable of our children, promising comradeship, free travel and learning a valuable skill. No mention of authoritarian brutality, sexual and physical assaults, depression, suicides, and trauma, let alone death and injury.  Even their expensive glossy misleading adverts don't seem to be doing the job. The new targets are our schools, the imperialist cabal in the Westminster Houses of Hypocrisy and Corruption, are planning to launch military cadet units in our secondary schools, mainly in the working class areas of the country. This callous bunch of parasites, are well aware that the kids in the poorer areas of the country are facing a life of fewer and less rewarding opportunities, just what they consider to be, ripe pickings for the cannon fodder to defend their imperialist plunder here and abroad. All this while the hypocrites gasp in mock horror about "boy soldiers" in other lands.

      With the army and reserve forces struggling for recruits, the Tory government has launched a £50m Cadet Expansion Programme (CEP) to establish 500 school cadet units across the UK by 2020, with schools in “less affluent” areas being prioritised.
      Scotland’s largest teaching union, the EIS, said its members would also oppose anything that smacked of the armed forces trying to recruit within schools.
      With around 100 units recently established in England, and many more already in place in private schools, the UK government needs 145 more state cadet units to hit its target.
       It has now turned its attention to Scotland’s 360 secondaries to help make up the numbers. 

        This callous duplicitous action should be a battle ground for us, it is blatant class war, we have to see it for what it is, getting the poor trained, to defend the wealth of the rich. On no account should the teachers, friends and families of our school kids allow this scooping up of our young impressionable kids, to carry out the brutal, dangerous, dirty work of defending the ill-gotten gains of the wealthy and bloated parasitical rich. Keep the military well away from our schools, we don't struggle to bring up our kids to have them sacrificed on the bloody altar of imperialism.

The World Is Our Village.

       In Greece, the fat cats are running with their carpet bags full of money and exiting the country. It is estimated that €16 billion has left the country since Christmas. That's a helluva hole in the finances of a small country up to its neck in debt. These are the individuals and institutions that want to milk Greece, but believe that it is no longer a safe bet. This will be part of the plan of the financial Mafia, bleed it in to submission, as it is every time a left leaning government gets power. All that matters to the moguls in charge of the financial Mafia is that their finances are protected, and the people can go to hell in a hand cart, as far as they are concerned. The only game in town is to play their game or get the shit kicked out of you. Hence, socialism in one country gets strangled at birth. Borders have to fall, and people have to think globally.

Springburn, Left To Rot!!

       Well, well, poor old Springburn and the North of Glasgow. It seems that our city fathers, at Kremlin in George Square, don't know that our fair city has a North End. In their gigantic tax funded, corporate extravaganza, The Corporatewealth Games, they stated that it was for all the city. I have just received their latest glossy Glasgow Magazine, and being a Springburn man, I had a wee look to see how it would impact on my part of the city, but it seems the city fathers don't know where Springburn is, or perhaps they think it is outside our city, hence the lack of interest.

 Springburn Park winter gardens, yep, left to rot.

      The East End has a time trial running through it to the city centre. The Southside, has a marathon running through it to the city centre. The West End has a road race running through it to the city centre. There are games venues in the East End, the Southside, and the West End, and "live zones" in the East, the city centre, the Southside and the West End. Their wee map is festoon with little symbols indicating Glasgow Landmarks, but nothing in the North side of the city. as far as this piece of corporate plunder is concerned, Springburn is a wasteland, not worth pilfering. Our call to fame in Springburn is our poverty and deprivation, we have the country's worst child poverty and the highest number of request for child care orders. Having "cleansed" the East End of peasants, perhaps they thought that the cost of doing likewise in the North was a cost too far. At least the transport should run as normal in the North of the city. You could visit Springburn every day and not even know there was such a "Greatest Show on Earth" corporate extravaganza going on in our fair soon to be bankrupted city.

The Corporate Money Syphon Machine.

      I suppose it can be fun, kicking a ball around with a group of people, though not my cup of tea. The World Cup, however is something else. Like all the large corporate spectacles, it is just another way of transferring public money into private bank accounts, though the mainstream media, that babbling brook of bullshit, tries to convince us all, that we, the ordinary people, get all the gains from this corporate plundering of the public purse. The London Olympics benefited lots of corporate bodies, but think how much you personally gained from all that tax payers expenditure? Glasgow's Commonwealth games is another corporate spectacular where we see millions of pounds of tax payers money just simply drain into private bank accounts. The other side of all these corporate spectacles is the repression, people have to be moved out of the way, dispersed from their local communities, to make way for the money spending tourists, and grand venues, that the locals can't afford to use. It is a short sharp manoeuvre, and then the money grabbing machine moves on to milk some other group of tax payers. Nothing to do with the local people, they are a bit of a nuisance to the smooth operation of the plundering of public assets, and long way they continue to be that nuisance.

GEORGE SQUARE IS OUR SQUARE.

        The Kremlin in  George Square are at it again, touching their forelock to the corporate world. Not content with having taken the city's historic George Square and turned half of it into rentable red tarmac to raise money, and allow the corporate world to tout their wares in what should be a pleasant place for the citizens and tourist to sit, chat, have lunch or meander and mingle. They now are intent on spending £15 million on changing the whole square into a suitable venue for more corporate events in the hope of raising more money. The Square belongs to the people, it is a spot in the heart of the city where we can, (should be able to) relax and meet-up with friends and family. It should never be a another corporate space, another money spinner for the corporate world. As far as I am aware, the Square is actually registered as a public park and as such should remain a place for the people of Glasgow and visitors to enjoy. Only the people of Glasgow can stop this rape of our city, only we can take back what is rightfully ours before it becomes another one of those things that we look back at with that nostalgic look in our eye.

         Citizens in Glasgow are up in arms over a council proposal to transform historic George Square, into a corporate “retail-led” space with crass “public art”. Many rightly see it is an attempt to drive the political and social life of the city out of this important square.
George Square has been the centre of struggle in the city from the 1919 uprising to demonstrations against the poll tax and Trident. Most recently, it was the site for the Occupy movement’s actions in Glasgow.
Without any consultation, the Labour-controlled council has unveiled six options, each more corporate than the one before, in a £15 million project, most of which will be borrowed against future business rates income.
