The Veil.

          We live behind a veil that conceals society's true structure, vaguely concealing a system that talks peace but continually plans and executes wars, every one of their wars sheds the blood of ordinary people who gain nothing, the spoils go to the planners and perpetrators of these wars. All wars are for the rich and powerful, but they need the blood of the ordinary people to feed their messianic desires for more power, wealth and privileges. In the present economic system of insanity war is big business, the goose that lays the golden egg, the milk-cow that keeps on giving to the corporate/state military industrial complex.

          For over a week now we have been placed, once again , in the position of an anxious spectator, exposed for once (in ‘real time’ through our personal devices) to the full horrors of the weaponries, technologies and industries which ordinarily are grinding behind the veil of ‘civilisation’.
          The whole political circus stops and only a few figures are left in the ring: an ‘enemy ‘ to fear and hate, an ‘ally’ to represent everything worth loving and striving for, and a ’cause’ to defend. The rest is bickering and bragging about specific measures.
          This alliance with power, where exploited and their exploiters join hands against an external threat, is the substance of ‘social peace’; it works just as well for Western detnocratic-oligarchies as it does for Putin. Crises and threats of this kind are indispensable for continuing the global war conducted by the forces of order, against those who they want to discipline and put to work .
         Terror, righteousness, pity, charity, grand existential rhetoric, and the guilty feeling of being ‘at peace’ in a ‘free country’- hey will do very well to keep our noses to the grindstone while they extract even more work from us with price rises covering energy, food, transportation and other basic needs.
          Even better, now they can blame it all on the enemy abroad! Every state is a ‘state of war’! Every technology they implement is a military technology. Every territory they mould and supervise is under hostile occupation- whether the hapless generals sit scrambling for advantage in the ‘situation room in silicone valley boardroom
          It is in this reality that we must intervene. Let’s break ranks! The practice of freedom is anathema to and can have NO COMMON GROUND with the capitalist and statist mafias, the oligarchs, bureaucrats and managers of all stripes. The only way to throw a barricade in the way of this evolving project of power is to spread social antagonism and attack against those responsible. We want to look each other in the eye, claiming our dignity and freedom not in the war between nation, but the social war.

Obey?

        We live in a society with upside down values, where to obey is seen as the right thing to do. To obey is to accept the Status Quo, to obey is to continue with the inequality and injustice, to obey is live with the insane economics of capitalism, to obey is allowing the pampered, privileged few continue to drive the majority towards poverty, to obey is to accept borders, to obey is to see those others on the other side of those borders as different,

      In this society where wealth equals quality of life, sanity, justice, equality demand disobedience, disobedience is what stops wars, disobedience challenges exploitation, disobedience holds those with power to account. For far too long we have accepted obedience to law and order of the rich and powerful who shaped those laws to protect their privileged position. The only way we can free ourselves from the grip of the wealthy and powerful is by disobedience and on a massive scale. We are dealing with a very ruthless and powerful group who always have the backing of the state's armoury and its loaded judicial system. Obey and continue our life of servile dependency, disobey and build that world we really want, a world of justice for all our people, a world that sees to the needs of all our people.

     Let's make our rallying call, non serviam, I will not serve.

Disobedience.

     Two pieces of information I recently read, to me highlight the dreadful state of our world today. The first is the human savagery that results in the fact that every ten minutes a Yemeni child under 5 years of age dies of hunger. The other is the state to which we have driven the planet, the recent Australian fires have more or less wiped out the Koalas, having destroyed 80% of their habitat.

    There is much more, millions of people across the globe are on the streets fighting to end inequality, injustice, corruption and state brutality. We have devised a system that perpetuates wide spread poverty, injustice and corruption. A system that spawns wars and all the misery, death and destruction that goes with those wars. A system that has driven life on our planet to the edge of extinction. None of this was an unforeseen accident, nor was it inevitable, it was driven by blind greed and deliberate exploitation. If we continue down this road, sadly those driving this human tragedy will not be the only ones to suffer as the inevitable collapse unfolds.

     It may already be too late, even so, humanity that desires that decent world for all, must continue and re-double every effort, and find new imaginative ways to destroy this economic disastrous system and halt this man made disaster. We just can't throw our hands in the air, continue as we are, and watch our grandchildren's future disappear in a brutal man made extinction.

No Need For A Shepherd.

The Disobedient.

The shepherd directs, and the flock move,
always with the help of the dog
even sheep can be disobedient.
The disobedient must be controlled
their desire to take their own path
could be the end of the need for a shepherd
and sheep would graze where they will,
there would be no flock
just similar beasts grazing together.
Perhaps we should look at the disobedient
asking why they want to be so,
could it be that they know something we don’t.
