The Veil.

We live behind a veil that conceals society's true structure, vaguely concealing a system that talks peace but continually plans and executes wars, every one of their wars sheds the blood of ordinary people who gain nothing, the spoils go to the planners and perpetrators of these wars. All wars are for the rich and powerful, but they need the blood of the ordinary people to feed their messianic desires for more power, wealth and privileges. In the present economic system of insanity war is big business, the goose that lays the golden egg, the milk-cow that keeps on giving to the corporate/state military industrial complex.

The Following from Act For Freedom Now:

Against Militarism, For Social Revolution Everywhere!

Against their war, against their peace.
Anarchists London 2022.

For over a week now we have been placed, once again , in the position of an anxious spectator, exposed for once (in ‘real time’ through our personal devices) to the full horrors of the weaponries, technologies and industries which ordinarily are grinding behind the veil of ‘civilisation’.
The whole political circus stops and only a few figures are left in the ring: an ‘enemy ‘ to fear and hate, an ‘ally’ to represent everything worth loving and striving for, and a ’cause’ to defend. The rest is bickering and bragging about specific measures.
This alliance with power, where exploited and their exploiters join hands against an external threat, is the substance of ‘social peace’; it works just as well for Western detnocratic-oligarchies as it does for Putin. Crises and threats of this kind are indispensable for continuing the global war conducted by the forces of order, against those who they want to discipline and put to work .
Terror, righteousness, pity, charity, grand existential rhetoric, and the guilty feeling of being ‘at peace’ in a ‘free country’- hey will do very well to keep our noses to the grindstone while they extract even more work from us with price rises covering energy, food, transportation and other basic needs.
Even better, now they can blame it all on the enemy abroad! Every state is a ‘state of war’! Every technology they implement is a military technology. Every territory they mould and supervise is under hostile occupation- whether the hapless generals sit scrambling for advantage in the ‘situation room in silicone valley boardroom
It is in this reality that we must intervene. Let’s break ranks! The practice of freedom is anathema to and can have NO COMMON GROUND with the capitalist and statist mafias, the oligarchs, bureaucrats and managers of all stripes. The only way to throw a barricade in the way of this evolving project of power is to spread social antagonism and attack against those responsible. We want to look each other in the eye, claiming our dignity and freedom not in the war between nation, but the social war.

State.

The "State", a small word with gigantic influence over our lives. A mechanism created and evolved into a forceful defender of wealth, power and privileges for the few. A self perpetuating machine for total domination over the population. However it was not God created, nor is it written in tablets of stone, never to be dismissed, it is simply a man made system of control welded to an economic system of greed and inequality. It can be dismantled and replaced with a humane system of fairness, based on co-operation, mutual aid and a driving force to see to the needs of all our people, free from the profit motive. The more we realise this, the quicker we can bring it down and create that better world for all, and relegate the state/capitalist system to history under the label of Humanity's Darkest Hour.

The following from from Anarchist Agency

A New Animated Video Primer From Agency & AK Press

As we collectively face an increasing level of social and environmental crises around the world, many people are questioning how the State—a system that wreaks so much destruction—even came to exist and why it has such a stranglehold on us. As anarchists we feel that it is important to acknowledge that the State is the framework for ordering and controlling relations among human society, the economy, and the natural world, and that we have the power to create a better world.
Recently, Agency’s Eric Laursen published The Operating System: An Anarchist Theory of the Modern State—a groundbreaking look at the State and how it performs like a digital operating system, providing a framework for every part of our lives and rendering itself essential to functioning in human society. Not only does Laursen’s book provide a rare anarchist analysis of the State, but it also calls on us to recognize that the State is something that was intentionally created and can just as readily be replaced with something better.
We are excited to share with you a new animated video, What is the State? (3:44), which we produced with Eric Laursen and illustrator Seth Tobocman to capture the essence of The Operating System. We highly recommend that you check out the book from AK Press, and please share the video with your friends.

Land And Liberty.

Life in the modern city is far removed from life in a rural or agricultural area, and though millions of people live crammed into cities, land is still a very important issue. The greedy parasite class knows this well, and gobble up as much of the earth's surface as they can grab. To them land is power, wealth and control, an asset that is above all else.
Though the city appears to be the hub, we should never forget we don't just want the factories, market places, and the logistics infrastructure, we also must have the land.
From an article by London based Anarchist Communist Group, three quotes from Flores Magon:

The anarchist Flores Magon explains why land is crucial to anarchism:
“We want bread for all. We consider it absurd that a few people should possess the earth, and the many not have a place to lay down their heads for rest. We want, then, that the land be accessible to all, just the same as the air, the light, the warm sun rays are there for all creatures on earth. We consider it absurd that those who neither toil nor produce should enjoy all at the expense ‘of those who till and toil and have a life of misery…”
However, Magon made it clear that land was directly linked to liberty:
“We think that political liberty is a beautiful lie so long as it has not for its basis economic liberty and towards the conquest of that liberty our steps are directed… We demand that the proletariat of Mexico organize and by doing so enable itself to take part in the tremendous struggle that alone will liberate the proletariat of this world, the struggle which someday — maybe in the near future-will place all the goods of this earth within the reach and power of all human beings.”

Expropriation is essential if the workers are to be free. Magon:
“In short, I see a society of workers economically free; owning themselves, because, at every step, they own the material on which they work; the land where the potatoes grow; the trees they fell and strip; the timber they fashion into lumber; the houses into which the lumber goes, and so “ad infinitum.” A society purged of tribute to the parasite.”
The article starts with:

The slogan ‘Land and Liberty’ has long been an anarchist slogan. It was the name of the Russian revolutionary organisation ‘Zemlya i Volya’ in 1878 and was used by the peasants in the Russian Revolution. When women marched in St Petersburg on the 8th of March, 1917, helping to kick off the revolution, the slogan was Bread, Land and Peace. ‘Tierra y Libertad’ was prominent in the Mexican and Spanish Revolutions and is still used today as the name of the Iberian Anarchist Federation paper.
It is not surprising that land is a key demand. Rural land workers represented the majority of the working population well into the 20th century in much of the world. Land ownership was concentrated in the hands of a few large landowners and people struggled to survive under this semi-feudal system. And it is still an important demand for many peasants and agricultural labourers around the world.

So Many Cruel Slow Unnecessary Deaths.

Over what I believe I can call my "long" life, (83, in a couple of weeks), I have heard and seen all the political parties draw up plans for the future, lay out their illusions of that better world - - - tomorrow, we sacrifice our today for the imaginary, unknown, pie-in-the-sky. We are to offer up our today and lay it at the altar of posterity. Through all that time the ordinary people have lived in the world of "pleasure postponed" while our lords and masters have lived the in the world of "pleasure now". Over the years the political ballerinas have promised this and that, a wonderful tomorrow,- - - if you will just knuckle down for one last sacrifice, then we can enter that utopia, I'm still waiting.
Some 25 years or so ago, I wrote this little poem, I would like you to read it, then tell me, what has changed. It may fluctuate from year to year but the horror and cruel injustice remains.
  • 6.3 million children under age five died in 2013, nearly 17,000 every day. The risk of a child dying before completing five years of age is highest in Africa (90 per 1000 live births), about 7 times higher than in Europe (12 per 1000 live births).
  • Approximately 3.1 million children die from hunger each year. Poor nutrition caused nearly half (45%) of deaths in children under five in 2011.
  • Children who are poorly nourished suffer up to 160 days of illness each year. Undernutrition magnifies the effect of every disease, including measles and malaria. The estimated proportions of deaths in which undernutrition is an underlying cause are roughly similar for diarrhea (61%), malaria (57%), pneumonia (52%), and measles (45%) Malnutrition can also be caused by diseases, such as the diseases that cause diarrhea, by reducing the body’s ability to convert food into usable nutrients.
  • 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, with 23 million in Africa alone, which greatly impacts their ability to learn.
All this when we know their is enough food to feed everybody on the planet, it is our man made system of capitalist greed and inequality that is responsible, and as long as we accept this, we are complicit.
How much longer will we accept their lying promises, how much longer will we  wait for that prosperous tomorrow, how much longer will we accept their cruel, vicious, deliberate illusions?

 Eighteen Hungry Children

Eighteen hungry children die
every minute of every day
eighteen of tomorrow’s people
cruelly thrown away.
When pandering to a fashion
gratifying our greed,
think, theirs is no desire
but a basic need.
Envisage a familiar face
a child that calls your name,
try to be the parent
try to place the blame.
Eighteen hungry children die
every minute of every day,
eighteen little faces
that never learnt to play.
Walk past your local school
listen to the shrill,
stand and count to sixty
imagine hunger start to kill.
Fingers must be pointed
at decisions made on high,
questions must be asked
loudly asked by you and I.
Eighteen hungry children die
every minute of every day,
eighteen precious lives
the claws of hunger slay.
WHY?

Stateless Democracy.

Recently, for some, Rojava has been hailed as the new 1936 Spain, with its libertarian dreams being painfully brought to life, this being the case it would be expected that the surrounding states would take a dim view of that type of structure, and work to undermine its progress. Our babbling brook of bullshit, the mainstream media, doesn't give it any of that "oxygen of publicity", that it spews out on trivia, sex and scandal. Despite this Rojava has struggled painfully on its course to that better world. However, the cards are stacked against it, as the various states, all of them opposed to any form of libertarian society, try to strangle the dream, as they did in Spain all those years ago, with sanctions, and brutal violence. Now the ultimate weapon is being used in Rojava, starving the region of the blood of life, water. Nothing is too sadistic, nothing is too brutal, as they work hard at stopping the idea of a libertarian society gaining ground. To our imperialist masters with their state apparatus, death and destruction is a price worth paying as they preach their mantra, capitalism or nothing.

This from Insurrection News:

The water and electricity cuts continue on its 4th day in Kobane. The Firat river’s water supply is so low that the base of the river, at least 3 kilometres in width is visible. The canton has announced that the cuts are indefinite. Those who have wells are sharing their water supply with their neighbours but this is a limited and ineffective alternative and thousands are without a drop of water.
The use and control of natural resources has been something that the Turkish state has used against the Kurds for decades. As the crackdown and mass human rights violations against the Kurds continue in Bakur, Rojava is slowly strangled with the ongoing humanitarian embargo and water cuts. Worse, when Turkey finally releases the water from their end hundreds of villages will be flooded causing massive damages and disruptions to agriculture and livestock (as it did last year) which is the backbone of the economy. This is a tactic that Turkey has used repeatedly against Rojava; as did Assad by cutting water supplies to Kurdish regions or rerouting water from Kurdish areas to Arab regions.
Terrorism takes many forms, whether its bombing and destroying thousands of villages, to burning hundreds of acres of forests and farms, to stopping water flowing further down to other regions, to embargoes. The use of the environment and land to oppress and terrorise the colonised is a well used tactic by states against indigenous communities and minorities.
The motto of the Rojava Revolution is “Resistance is Life”, but I wonder how a deeply oppressed, economically underdeveloped society that lacks resources, infrastructure and access to multiple borders is able to resist such terrorism.

The System Has No Legitimacy.

For centuries we have been, through struggle and negotiations, teasing minimal improvements in our conditions from the system of capitalism. However we should never forget that, under the system of capitalism, these crumbs of comfort that we have struggled so hard for, are not permanent benefits. The system will always be involved in claw-back operations. Sometimes this is done in a slow kind of piecemeal manner, different types of legislation and rule changes, such as flexible working conditions, zero hours contracts, changing the pension age, workfare and benefit sanctions and so on. Other times it is the system itself that hits one of its inevitable and frequent “crises” that force it, for its own survival, to claw-back in a savage and vicious fashion. Two major claw-backs that spring to mind is what is now know as the 30’s and the 2008 financial crisis. In both these instances the system’s financial centres went bust and to get it back up and running, there had to be a massive claw-back of all or most of the meagre benefits from the public, that we had won through years of struggle. This was done in a similar manner in both cases, a policy of “austerity”, involving a savage and vicious destruction of the social fabric of society, resulting in a tsunami of poverty, deprivation, and mass unemployment, with no regard to the suffering of the ordinary people. The system first and foremost, this ensures that those with the wealth and power remain in control and hold onto their wealth and power.
When do we accept that we have been pursuing a failed policy of subservience by continually accepting the false legitimacy of this system, and asking, “Can we have some more please”. Exploitation, injustice and inequality can have no legitimacy, and any system that perpetuates those qualities must be the target of our anger, not to plead for more, but to eliminate the system completely, and replace it with a system based on mutual aid, co-operation, and sustainability, a system that sees to the needs of all our people. For freedom and justice, there is no other way.
The following is an extract from ATTACK, a Pistols Drawn Publication:
By permanent conflictuality we mean uninterrupted struggle against class domination and those responsible for bringing it about. By self-management we mean independence from all parties, trades unions or patronage, as well as finding the means necessary for organising and carrying out the struggle on the basis of spontaneous contributions alone. By attack we mean the refusal of any negotiation, mediation, reconciliation or compromise with the enemy.
Nevertheless, the final aim of these intermediate struggles is always attack. It is however obviously possible for individual comrades or affinity groups to strike at individuals or organisations of Capital and the State independently of any more complex relationship
Sabotage has become the main weapon of the exploited in their struggle in the scenario we see extending before our very eyes. Capitalism is creating conditions of control and domination at levels never seen before through information technology which could never be used for anything other than maintaining power.

Change We Must.

Who are the terrorists, who are responsible, by far, for the vast majority of the killings on this planet, who forces poverty and deprivation on millions, who plunders the planet, for personal gain and not for the community? We all know, or should know, the answers to these questions, of course it is the state and capital. Yet millions still tolerate this festering cancerous marriage between state and capital, and foolishly millions turn to those very killer organisations in an attempt to improve their lives, it is a bit like being lost in a jungle and asking a crocodile for assistance. We have had centuries of watching the rich get richer, until we now see a small group own, by far, the greatest slice of the world’s unimaginable wealth, while the vast majority struggle from day to day just for survival, and some don’t even make that level. We have had centuries of asking and petitioning for the wealth to be a little bit more evenly spread, the result is the opposite of what we ask, the rich still get richer. They say that one of the signs of insanity is to keep doing the same thing, but expecting a different result. Perhaps we should now be looking at ourselves and realising that we have to try something different, to get that better result that we all desire. You have voted for centuries, and the wealth that you and I create, still flows, at an ever increasing rate, upwards, to that small band of bloated parasites. You know there is a better way, you know that the world has an abundance of resources that could see to the needs of all our people, you know we have the ability to create that better world, but as long as we play the game to the rules of the gangsters and mobsters that at the moment control all that wealth, we are doomed to see the wealth continue flowing up to their overloaded coffers, and we will continue to see our people struggle and suffer.
There are many ways we can change the system, end this injustice, and end the plundering and destruction of the planet, but change we must. To continue as we are is to see the suffering increase and by the continuing plundering of the planet, the eventual demise of the ecosystem that we all rely on for survival. We must remember, the Earth has no escape capsule.
This poster has appeared recently in Greece:
 The poster reads:

“I am a revolutionary, and I have nothing to apologize for.

Terrorists, criminals, robbers are those who compose the economic and political life; the institutions and governments that, through the memoranda, are waging the most violent, the most heinous attack on the social base in the name of a “way out of the crisis.” Terrorist, criminal, robber is the State and Capital; those whom I fight committed with all my soul to armed struggle, to Revolutionary Struggle; those whom my organization has targeted all these years of our activity.
(…) when the economic and political establishment attacks the social majority in the most merciless way, armed struggle for social revolution is a duty and obligation; because that’s where hope lies and nowhere else. The only hope for a definitive way out of the systemic crisis we are living in this historical period, for a definitive way out of every crisis. It is the only hope towards overturning capitalism, the system that gives birth to crises; the only hope towards overturning the State and Capital.
It is the only hope for an armed counterattack of the social base against a system that crushes them.
It is the only hope towards overthrowing the State and Capital; for Social Revolution.
For a society of economic equality and political freedom for all.”
Pola Roupa

Capitalism, The Juggernaut Of A Corrupt Gambling Casino.

We all know, or should know, that capitalism is corruption personified, a juggernaut of a gambling casino, a sewer from which the rich and greedy feed off the backs of ordinary people. Our babbling brook of bullshit, the mainstream media, spews out figures about the "markets", trying to cloak them in some form of science and legitimacy. When in fact, the "markets" are just a horde of very rich individuals and institutions, shifting their unearned wealth around the tables of the large gambling casino, in an endeavour to get more unearned plunder, or to re-coup their losses. Of course under the rules of capitalism, while this bunch of parasitic leeches, play their gambling games, millions of ordinary people suffer from these adjustments and shifting of capital.
Should the "markets" collapse, the plundering pirates of the corporate and financial world lose lots of their unearned booty. However the factories, mines, oilfields, farms and orchards, and all the means of production and distribution would still be there. All we would have to do is take them over, and organise them to cater for the needs of all our people, and create the type of society WE want. We are lead to believe that the "markets" are important to us, so we follow their narrative and share the greedy leeches concerns, this in turn perpetuates the whole stinking system of greed and corruption.
In saying that, here is an interesting article from Anarkismo:
It was long ago stated that capitalism came into the world dripping in blood and dirt, from every pore, from head to toe. While it has demonstrated that it won’t simply collapse under its own weight, the recent goings-on around the current capitalist crisis have shown that with age it has become even more hideous. Capitalism is now rank with massive state intervention required to simply keep its rotting body moving: through states propping up the financial sector and deepening the colossal attack on the working class.
Fallout from Chinese stock markets
The goings-on that have once again highlighted capitalism’s depravity, are the turmoil – starting in China – that has occurred over the last few weeks on stock markets; including the underlying causes that led to it, and the actions that the ruling classes have taken since then to try and end it, or at least alleviate it.

Must We Bend Our Knee At The Altar Of Capital?

If ever we needed proof that social reformist parties functioning within the capitalist rule book, just don't work, we need look no further than Greece today. What was a genuine explosion for real change from the people of Greece, was channelled into a party political farce, where the only change was the face of the new messiah. Once again a cartload of promises evaporated in the labyrinth of the state apparatus. Once again the people are expected to bend their knee before the altar of capital. The financial Mafia cracked their whip and the government obeyed.
 Kneel before your new Messiah.
This from Void Network:

Election Boycott against Capital and the State
The approval of the third memorandum by the SYRIZA—ANEL coalition government clearly destroys the reformist delusions. Very few continue to believe that under the domain of global capitalism, the European Union, and contemporary totalitarianism, that government programs could possibly satisfy the needs of the exploited. Through their facetious referendum, the Left government transformed the social effervescence of the “NO” into a resounding “YES” for emiseration. Now they are preparing for new elections, showing how quickly they have learned to take advantage of the rules of the bourgeois political game. In the same moment, a section of SYRIZA has split off, trying to renovate faith in the prospect of leftwing management of capitalism. They continue to cultivate the delusion of delegating the solution of social problems to self-proclaimed saviors, within a populist-nationalist program of interclass collaboration. But it is now clear that the neoliberal path as well as the statist alternative converge in their goals of capitalist growth and the further devaluation of our labor and our lives.
It is more urgent than ever to understand that we can only rely on our own power. To prevent social cannibalism, it is necessary to organize the self-defense of the exploited and oppressed. Networks of social solidarity based in direct participation that take a position against the philanthropic logic of NGOs and the Church, can create a common field of defense and reproduction of our class in conditions of crisis and the assault of Capital. Simultaneously, we must sabotage the plans of the State and Capital, and organize our attack. With base unions and workers' initiatives that will attack the bureaucratic, state-legitimized syndicalism and organize in the workplace, with public assemblies that will turn neighborhoods into zones of resistance, with federated political groups, with all of these we have to reorganize every aspect of social life, and to organize our attack against the dominance of State and Capital. Inseparable from our self-defense as a class is the defense of the devalued segment of our class: the immigrants and the refugees. We will not allow the fascists to ever again appear in public space, promoting as always the interests of the bosses.
In this year's Thessaloniki International Trade Fair, we make our first appearance in the movement as the Initiative for the Creation of the Anarchist Federation, emphasizing the collective organizing of our needs and the coalescence of the struggles of our class against contemporary totalitarianism. We support the uncompromising and independent social and class struggles, such as the struggle of the workers of the self-organized, occupied factory of BIO. ME. that of the residents of Halkidiki against the goldmine in Skouries, and all of the other self-organized initiatives from below, with which we will struggle together against the Thessaloniki International Trade Fair. Against the State, the European Union, local and international capital, we walk towards the social revolution, anarchy, and communism.
WE WILL NOT LIVE LIKE SLAVES.

Nothing Is Forgotten.

A message from Act For Freedom Now:
The State and System have factually proven their role against anarchists, anti-authoritarians, fighting people, self-managed  spaces  and  various parts of  society.
Within the social war there are also losses. The times we are living now are tough. Disgusted by the social  relations and the models which they reproduce, against every form of exploitation and authority we aim at the destruction of this rotten system, whether it’s “prospering”, or it’s in “crisis”.
We consider multiform action as an integral part of the revolutionary procedures. From the distribution of leaflets in the squares, the occupation of  spaces, the self-organization in workplaces and neighbourhoods, up to militant protests, night-time raids and re-appropriations.

The words of our brothers and sisters in captivity, give us the strength to continue.

Nothing is forgotten, nothing is left behind,
the war continues as long as the enemy is here.
And the journey continues with “losses”
but also joys, with hardships but also
pleasant surprises.
Therefore, ALL OR NOTHING…
Solidarity to those who fight for freedom
and dignity inside and outside the prisons.
The destruction of all prisons is a pebble in
the struggle for human dignity, and social
and individual freedom.
Rage and conscience until social
revolution. Revolutionary greetings to all
comrades EVERYWHERE AND ALWAYS!

WORKERS KNOW YOUR HISTORY - THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION.

In spite of the way that Russia end up after the revolution, we should not forget that it started as a social revolution and was hi-jacked by the bureaucratic Bolsheviks. There are lessons to be learnt, the revolution must stay with the people and not be allowed to be controlled by a bureaucratic party mechanism under the control of a handful of party hacks. Horizontal organisation, not hierarchic.
