Free Event.



           Anarchist Film Group are holding a free event/PowerPoint talk followed by a discussion, in the Electron club CCA 350 Sauchiehall Street, Tuesday 26th March 7pm.
            It's on direct action and community activism with specific examples covering housing issues, the 1984/85 miner's strike and the Poll Tax. The Speaker will be John Cooper, long standing member of https://spiritofrevolt.info He will be using material from our John Cooper Collection T SOR 3 and his own personal experiences. This is a must and should prove very interesting.
            If anyone is interested they are welcome to attend.

     For September Read of the Month, we at Spirit of Revolt bring you a fascinating booklet of the occupation of Mainshill Woods in Lanarkshire to prevent opencast coal mining destroying the woods. It is from The Hetherigton Collection, T SOR-2.  It details tactics, strategies and survival techniques. Excellent drawings and descriptions. A wealth of useful information. A must read.

You’ll be able to see special campaign related archive material from The George Padmore Institute while New Beacon Books (Black culture specialists since 1966) will have a selection of publications to browse and buy.
     You can also visit our free exhibition Congo Dialogues: Alice Seeley Harris and Sammy Baloji to discover why Alice Seeley Harris represents one of the earliest human rights campaigners in the world, and how Sammy’s work exposes the ongoing need for activism
