Vindictive State.

Pandemics come and pandemics go, but state repression just keeps rolling along. In Greece, three anarchists have just been sentenced to long term prison sentences, as part of the states on-going strategy to create a submissive population. It's up to all of us to make this endeavour a failure and to show support and solidarity with each an every one who falls into the quagmire of the state judicial system.
One of those who received the longest sentence, 19 years with no appeal, is Vangelis Stathopoulos, here is his statement from Korydallos Prison:

Solidarity is judged on my person with the heaviest accusations, because I helped an injured comrade. My prosecution and trial are based solely on political criteria, on the attitude of dignity and solidarity that I have consistently followed throughout my life. I have nothing to dispose of but my own life, I have nothing to defend despite the constant struggle against the murderous rage of the State and capital! If my practical solidarity is the crime for which I am convicted and imprisoned, I declare myself unrepentant!
P.S.: Closing here, I would like to greet from the bottom of my heart the comrades who stayed by my side, in every way, those who stood by me and continue to fight. Knowing that the conditions are adverse and things are difficult outside, they did not desist! And to renew the appointment on the streets, where I grew up and have never forgotten.
NOT ONE STEP BACK
Using the power of the opponent we reverse the terms, the shortest path is the straight one!
No battle was won without ever being given

Solidarity, Our Winning Weapon.

The treatment of Konstantinos Giagtozglou and his hunger strike which sparked acts of solidarity across Greece and elsewhere, show once again that solidarity is a winning weapon. His demand to be moved to Korydallos Prison, to be nearer his family, comrades and friends, would have failed had he been an anonymous individual trapped in the states clutches of repression. Rebellion inside the prison and acts of direct action outside the prison stated loud and clear, he was not alone.

Received and translated by Insurrection News on 03.03.18:
According to information from Athens Indymedia, comrade Konstantinos Giagtozglou will end his hunger and thirst strike after the Prison Transfer Committee met today on Friday, March 2nd and accepted his demand for transfer to Korydallos Prison, which will be made effective on April 10th.
The comrade who is accused of belonging to the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire and sending explosive packages to European institutions and to the former Greek Prime Minister was on hunger strike from February 21st and on thirst strike since February 25th demanding his permanent transfer to Korydallos Prison so he could be near his family and friends.
There is no doubt that the offensive actions of solidarity carried out by comrades in Greece both inside and outside the prisons was an element of important pressure for the decision that was finally made in Dinos’ favour.
We will share more information as new updates are disseminated about the case.
We send greetings to the comrade and to all those who showed forms of solidarity and did not remain indifferent to the comrade’s hunger strike.

Black December.

The Greek state is preparing for Black December, the police are organising to crack down on anarchists across Greece. The crack down has been going on for a considerable time, however, the call for Black December will allow them to escalate the brutal repression.
This from Greek Reporter:
Greek police are on alert after jailed anarchist Nikos Romanos issued a written statement calling all anarchists to wage war against the state and “…take over city halls and blow up fascists and bosses.”
As the November 17 celebration and the anniversary of the murder of teenager Alexandros Grigoropoulos by a policeman on December 6 approach, the 22-year-old man who is serving 15 years in prison for armed robbery sent a written statement to indymedia.gr website calling all anarchists to arms.
Given that since December 6, 2008 when Grigoropoulos was killed there are extreme riots taking place in Athens and Thessaloniki with arson and injuries of policemen, Greek police are preparing to deal with the threat.
In the long statement coming from inside Korydallos Prison, there is mention of a destructive “action campaign called ‘Black December'” which will “restart the anarchist revolution, inside and outside of prison.”
“Let’s smash the windows of department stores, occupy schools, universities and city halls, let’s distribute texts that spread the message of rebellion, blow up fascists and bosses,” read the message co-written by Romanos and convict Panagiotis Argyrou, member of terrorist group Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire.
“… Let’s blow up the homes of politicians, throw molotov cocktails at cops, cover walls with messages, sabotage the normal flow of Christmas trade,” the statement continues.
“…Let’s paint with ashes on the ugly buildings of banks, police stations, multinational corporations, army camps, television studios, courthouses, churches and charity organizations,” the statement further reads.
Romanos was with Grigoropoulos on the night the 15-year-old was killed by policeman Epameinondas Korkoneas. Since then, Romanos pledged to avenge the death of his friend and fight against the state that killed him. In early 2013, Romanos, along with Yiannis Michailidis, Andreas Bourzoukos and Dimitris Politis were arrested during an armed robbery attempt at Velventos in northern Greece.

A Society Of Hypocritical Customs.

There are those among us who will never yield to authority, not to its faintest  odour, nor to its harshest lash of the whip, they will never bend their knee to the subtle seduction, nor the merciless brutality of authority. To them, we weaker mortals must pay homage, and lend our solidarity when and where ever we can. They are the ones who forge that unknown arduous path to the world in our hearts, who lay the foundation stones of that better world. We owe them.
Greece: “From the land of the forgotten against oblivion…” by Olga Ekonomidou
“I do not need, nor do I want your discipline. With regards to my experiences, I want to have them for myself. It is from them, and not from you, that I will draw my rules of conduct. I want to live my own life. Slaves and lackeys terrify me. I hate those who dominate, and those who let themselves be dominated sicken me. He who bends before the whip is worth no more than he who wields it. I love danger, and the unknown, the uncertain, seduces me. I’m filled with a desire for adventure, and I don’t give a damn for success. I hate your society of bureaucrats and administrators, millionaires and beggars. I don’t want to adapt to your hypocritical customs nor to your false courtesies. I want to live out my enthusiasms in the pure, fresh air of freedom. Your streets, drafted according to plan, torture my gaze, and your uniform buildings make the blood in my veins boil with impatience. And that’s enough for me. I’m going to follow my own path, according to my passions, changing myself ceaselessly, and I don’t want to be the same tomorrow as I am today. I stroll along and I don’t let my wings be clipped by the scissors of any one person. I share none of your moralism. I am going forth, eternally passionate and burning with the desire to give myself to the world, to the first real person that approaches me, to the ragged trousered traveler, but never to the grave and conceited wise-men who would regulate the length of my stride. Nor to the doctrinaire who would like to clutter my mind with formulas and rules. I am no intellectual; I am a human being — a woman who feels a great vibration within herself before the impulses of nature and amorous words. I hate every chain, every hindrance; I love to walk along, nude, letting my flesh be caressed by the rays of the voluptuous sun. And, oh, old man! I will care so very little when your society breaks into a thousand pieces and I can finally live my life.”
-“Who are you, little girl, fascinating like a mystery and savage like instinct?”
-“I am Anarchy.”
