Barcelona – Update on latest arrests (Spain)

05/03/2021 posted by round robin/it)

As part of the riots that broke out in Barcelona during the last two weeks, 8 anarchist comrades were arrested on the night of February 27th during a cop charge.
On Monday morning, the Mossos d’Esquadra (catalan police) searched two squatted warehouses, in MatarĂ³ and Canet de Mar, neighbouring towns of Barcelona, where they seized material.
After a statement on Tuesday at 5 p.m., the judge validated the arrests without bail and sent them all to preventive prison.
The charges against the 8 anarchists are: attempted murder, organized criminal asociation, conspiracy, unauthorised demonstration, aggression, public disorder, assault and violence against public officials and damages.
The comrades decided not to answer the prosecutor’s questions, but to answer only to their lawyer.
The next day, they all received a PCR test and, according to the new anti-covid rules, they were forced to get vaccinated. (?!!)
They are now in solitary confinement in Brians 1 prison and for the moment they are not allowed to receive any clothes or money.
A team of three lawyers is taking care of their defence.

Mass Strike.

Still on going, the world's largest workers strike, over 200,000 farmers and farm workers have been on strike since November 26th., 2020. They have been camped out on the borders of the city of New Delhi demanding the withdrawal of the governments intend new legislation, opening up Indian agriculture to the free market. This of course will benefit nobody but the big agro-business and destroy all the small farmers in India, all for corporate profit.
They have already won a small victory by getting the courts to delay the implementation of the new legislation until further notice. The farmers have stated they will not settle for less than the complete withdrawal of this legislation. Meanwhile the government has always stated that it would not back down with its plans to open up Indian agriculture to the corporate beasts of the free market.
Now it appears that the government has perhaps blinked first, as they have stated they are willing to delay the implementation of the legislation for 18 months and hold discussions with the farmers. It is to be hoped that the striking workers realise that this is not the time to concede, as the delay could be a tactic to sap the strength of the strikers by dragging the affair out for another 18 months.
To help the striking workers we should all show solidarity and support for their long drawn out struggle, three months out on strike so far is hardship, to hold out while the government for the next 18 months, pussyfoots around the discussion table with popcorn offers and bubblegum suggestions, with the intention of implementing the legislation as the workers resolve fades. All power to the workers' struggle, solidarity across borders.

Greece's Resurgent Anarchist Movement.

Anarchist and anarchist groups should always change and adapt to the shifting conditions of the capitalist morass. The aim may be the same, but the route has to be devised as we move forward. In Greece where the capitalist system is an open fight of raw brutality, capitalism with the gloves off, so, Greece's anarchist movement is going through change, and a resurgence.
This by Tommy Trenchard at Al Jazeera:
GREECE'S RESURGENT ANARCHIST MOVEMENT.

A makeover

Anarchy is not new to Greece. Though opinions differ on the details, anarchists say the movement started in the port city of Patras, and was brought across the Ionian sea by dockhands from Italy some time in the mid-19th century. Since then it has ebbed and flowed over the years, taking credit for helping to topple Greece's military dictatorship in the early 1970s and fighting educational reform throughout the 1990s.
But since the beginning of the country's economic crisis in 2008, the movement has been resurgent as disaffected young Greeks look for alternatives to a political and economic system many see as discredited.
On one Wednesday earlier in the year, I watched as masked anarchists in hoodies and black T-shirts hurled bottles and petrol bombs at riot police in front of the parliament building. Such exchanges have become routine.
These are, perhaps, the images that most commonly come to mind when people think of anarchists. But after decades of being seen largely as a protest movement of ideologues and dreamers, Greece's anarchists are having a makeover.
As frustration with conventional politics deepens, the movement is attempting to rebrand itself as a realistic alternative for disillusioned young Greeks by showing that it offers more than violence and vague ideas of freedom. The concert in Kesariani was a part of this initiative.

"The revolution will not come with flowers," he said. "They need to see that we have the power to create but also to destroy. Again and again."
Back in K-Vox, however, V is confident that their many pockets of support across the capital can capitalise on the current state of turmoil in the country. "The movement is maturing. All over Athens we have these assemblies now; everywhere small fires are burning. We hope they will join up until they take over the city."

STATE PERSECUTION - GENOCIDE!!

A place on the planet where hatred is bred, where humiliation is a daily occurrence, where simple freedoms are a dream.

What other nation on the planet can steal people's land and homes and get away with it. Of course it would be impossible without American money and arms, and American support in the UN.
