Keelie 2022.

 

         January 2022, and the first Glasgow Keelie of the year is out. As usual packed with local news and news from far and wide, plus lots of interesting info. Again you'll find us on the street handing out the best free newspaper in the city. Keelie.

 

           Despite the usual Glasgow dull, cold, dreich, drizzly rain type of weather, the Glasgow Keelie folks were out today on the street doing their thing. They set up at the corner of Sauchiehall Street at the large, now closed BHS building. As usual the free Glasgow Keelie was well received, with a considerable number disappearing with passing Glesca Folks being eager to get their hands on a copy. Keelie 25.

   

         The December issue, No. 25, of the Glasgow Keelie is now out and finding its way on to our streets, look to grab your copy, we will be out and about the city centre handing out the best wee free newspaper in the city. We will also be dropping them of at pubs and cafes around the city, so look out for this wee gem. The Glasgow Keelie is the voice of the ordinary Glesca folks, you can add you voice and and turn our whisper into a roar of protest at what is wrong with our society and who is responsible. Keelie 24.

          November issue of the free Glasgow Keelie is out, again it is pact with info, opinions, criticisms and events, Its prying eyes have looked at everything from Cop-26 to Covid 19, our councillors' shenanigans to corporate bosses duplicity.            Bang on time, out comes the August edition, issue 21, of the Glasgow Keelie. As usual, packed with info, snapshot of the past and lots of what is happening here and now plus some of the shenanigans of our city council, that bunch that we house in the Kremlin in George Square that are hell bent on closing libraries, community centres, swimming pools etc. Check it out on line and you may be able to pick up a hard copy on the street and at events, look out for the rickshaw.

Keelie.

           Yes, its that time again, the latest issue of Glasgow's own pocket rocket of information and criticism the Glasgow Keelie is out. As usual packed with what is going on in our fair city, and behind those closed doors in the corridors of power in the Kremlin in George Square. You can grab yourself a copy at the Radical Glasgow Fair on Glasgow Green this Saturday, from 1pm. next to the People's Palace.


           The Glasgow Radical Fair on the Green this Saturday from 1pm will give you an opportunity to voice your opinion on the numerous closures of Glasgow's public amenities, libraries swimming pools etc. pick up interesting literature, including the Glasgow Keelie, it's free. come and just chat to those on the stall, let's hear your views on the Glasgow version of austerity and what it means to your community and as said before, meet our friend the Bailie.

Sma' Shot Day.

    Sma' Shot Day a traditional workers celebration held annually in Paisley, according to the powers that be, will be a virtual event this year, that's the same as saying it will be cancelled, but you can watch pictures of past events on your screen. But fear not, a small group of die-hard supporters of working class traditions will be holding a small event to mark this memorable day in working class struggle. The Glasgow Keelie will have a stall where you can come and meet the "Cork", he is usually burnt at the annual celebration. Sadly he will not be burnt this year, so come along a tell him what you think of profit grabbing greedy bosses, pick up a free copy of Radical Paisley, Glasgow Keelie and other free literature, chat with the stall members, and keep alive this important day of workers celebration of victory.

Details:
Saturday 3rd. July, 1pm. to 3pm.
Paisley, The Cairn, the Cairn is at the west end of the pedestrianised area near the arcade, M&S etc.

     TRAVEL ON SATURDAY: Cairn is at the west end of the pedestrianised area where the arcade, M&S etc  If not from Paisley, or on the direct train line to Largs, Ayr, Gourock. From Glasgow Central, trains to Paisley Gilmour St. There is another small line which terminates at Canal st, via Dumbreck, a bit further away which used to be ideal for Sma Shot, as in 2019. For 2021 walk up New St. to get to the Cairn. By bus 9 First Bus, 38 McGill, 26 McGill via Govan & Braehead, 17 McGill via Bath St, Kelvin Hall, Tunnel and Cardonald. The Glasgow Times has reported that some localised Orange order parades are scheduled in various parts of Glasgow & could delay some bus travel.

Keelie 19.


           Yes, it's that time again,the latest Glasgow Keelie is out for your perusal. Glasgow Keelie19, like the previous issues is jammed packed with info on what is happening, with coverage of the "Battle of Kenmure Street", Glasgow residents' stand against immigration authorities with their snatch van, and the release of two humans who were about to be carted off like livestock to some detention centre. The authorities sneaky raid was foiled by the mass support of locals and other supporters form around Glasgow. This and much more all there, free, for your info and pleasure. Spread far and wide.
