FASCISM MUST BE RESISTED.

From Labour Start:

Matteo Parlati stood up to the fascists. Now, he needs us to stand up for him.

Matteo Parlati is a shop steward who works for Ferrari Auto in Italy. He's an activist in FIOM-CGIL, the Italian metal workers union. Last October, when local neo-fascists decided to celebrate Mussolini's infamous March on Rome, Matteo and his colleagues staged a counter-demonstration which was attacked by police. He was then charged with resisting the police and bearing 'moral responsibility' for the clash. (Photos and videos confirm that Matteo was the victim, not the criminal.)

Matteo's fellow shop stewards have unanimously called for

What Matteo did was resist fascism -- this is a basic responsibility of all trade unionists and is not a crime. Please take a moment and send off your message of protest today - and spread the word!

"THEY SHALL NOT PASS"

Stop the racist EDL/SDL this Saturday
"They shall not pass" was a slogan from the fight against fascism in Spain during the 1930's, however it has come right up to date with our plans to stop organised racists and fascists from coming to Edinburgh City Centre on 10 September.
Despite being banned and unwanted by the people of Edinburgh, we know that the Scottish and English Defence Leagues are still organising on a large scale to come here. We urgently need you to join the Unite Against Fascism (UAF) protest to make it as big as possible.
We will rally at The Mound, 11 am this Saturday, 10 September (speakers below). We have route agreed with the police and the council and we will march along Princes Street to a secondary rally area beside the Wellington Statue within sight of the SDL on Regent Rd. We need everyone, bring family and friends, to demonstrate that the majority of people reject their message of race hate and to say "they shall not pass" into the city centre of Edinburgh.
Please consider bringing your own placards.
Speakers include:
Dave Moxham - STUC, Colin Keir MSP, Malcolm Chisholm MSP, Robin Parker -President NUS Scotland , Graham Smith - Unison NEC, Councillor Gordon Munro - Leith Ward, Simon Assaf -UAF National office.
Also supported by Edinburgh Trade Union Council & Edinburgh Council Unison.

EDINBURGH ANTI-FASCISTS.

Dear Friends

You may have heard that the Scottish Defence League want to march in Edinburgh on the 10th September. Below is a Unity statement we would ask you to sign personally or if possible on behalf of your organisation, also please circulate for support. By uniting against the SDL we prevented them
marching or congregating in Edinburgh before, we must do the same again.

Best wishes
Graham
On behalf of UAF Edinburgh
Edinburgh Unity Statement

We the undersigned strongly oppose plans by the Scottish Defence League (SDL) the Scottish arm of the racist English Defence League (EDL) to march in Edinburgh on 10 September 2011.

The EDL was a group admired by the Norwegian far right terrorist Anders Breivik. As well as attending a number of EDL events, meeting EDL leaders etc. Breivik openly expressed his wish to start a racial war and praised the EDL’s strategy and tactics.

The latest rally by the SDL in Irvine on 30 July 2011 saw members hold placards aimed at stirring up hatred against Islam and sporting Blood and Honour (Nazi) tattoos.

Islamophobia - bigotry against Muslims - is as unacceptable as any other form of racism. It divides and weakens our society by making scapegoats of one community, just as Hitler's Nazis did by targeting Jews in the 1930s. Today the SDL threatens Muslims; tomorrow it could be Jews, Hindus, Sikhs,
black people, lesbians & gay men, travellers or Eastern Europeans.

There is no place for racists or fascists in Edinburgh’s multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religious community. That is why we stand in solidarity with Edinburgh's Muslim community and against the poisonous bigotry of the SDL.

Initiated by Unite Against Fascism-Edinburgh.

CLEAN UP PAISLEY'S STREETS.

Colleagues,

We have just had it confirmed that the racist SDL (Scottish Defence League) are planning to have one of their "flashmob" static demos in Paisley, Dunn Square on Saturday 26th February. We need to stop them trying to bring their rascist poison to the streets of Scotland. We know that they have strong associations with the BNP and the fascist British Freedom Fighters and they no doubt want to stir things up before the Scottish elections.
UAF and other anti-racists will be there to stop them, please come along. If you know anyone in Paisley, or anyone who would like to help, please contact uafscotland. We hope to have a presence in Paisley on Saturday at the Cenotaph at 10.00am.
SOLIDARITY.

Sat 29 May - Demo against the EDL (Newcastle)

Urgent Message from UAF Edinburgh.
The poor General Election results for the BNP in their target areas have led to a number of internal debates in the BNP. Many are blaming Nick Griffin for a failed electoral strategy and the hardcore want to move towards a more traditional fascist approach of street fighting thugs.
It is against this backdrop that the English Defence League (EDL) has called for a demonstration in Newcastle on Saturday 29 May. The recent BBC documentary on the EDL (still available in BBC iplayer) showed the racism and violence that runs through it. That is why we need a show of strength with as many people as possible joining the "Unity" demonstration called by Unite Against Fascism.
UAF Edinburgh is organising transport to this key protest. It will leave Edinburgh at 9am from Waterloo Place (east end of Princes St) and will cost: £20 waged & £10 unwaged. However if you are really skint then we can take you for less.  If you can't make it, could you make a donation to help pay for someone else?
For tickets, information or to make a donation please email: uafedinburgh@riseup.net

SOME THOUGHTS FROM THE BNP.

These are just some of the thoughts that the BNP scumbags haven't got round to writing into their manifesto. Though given the support and time, these and other abhorrent ideas will be come their open aims.

In February 2009 following the death of the six-year-old son of David Cameron, the Conservative Party leader, Jeffray Marshall, the central London BNP organiser, said: “We live in a country today which is unhealthily dominated by an excess of sentimentality towards the weak and unproductive. No good will come of it.”
Marshall continued his sick tirade, stating that although it would be “a kindness” to kill children with disabilities”, this was not the same as advocating such a measure as compulsory state policy. “But so what if it is,” he declared. “At least we would all know where we stand. There is actually not a great deal of point in keeping these sort of people alive, after all.”
Mark Collett BNP Director of Publicity said about AIDS: “It is a friendly disease because blacks, drug users and gays have it.”
Tony “The bomber” Lecomber has advocated a “racially purer” Britain through the sterilisation of the poor, the sick and the disabled. Lecomber even thinks that the rich are “genetically superior” to ordinary people and that poor people shouldn’t be allowed to have children.
