To End Racism, Borders Must Fall.

 

        The translation may not be the best, the phrases at times a little confusing, but what is crystal clear is that this is a cry for help from people who have had their rights removed and are being treated abysmally by the state machine. What is also crystal clear is the blatant cruelty, gross injustice, inhuman treatment of vulnerable people and the open racism by the police and the state apparatus. However this is not unusual, it is standard practice in every state across the planet. Migrants that group of human beings stripped of their rights, set aside because of colour, race or country of origin, the normal routine of state policy no matter where we live. Only when we destroy the state system and remove all borders from every map will we see an end to this  brutal policy of divide and rule for the benefit of the few.

         What I write, the situation of immigrants in the police station is a fire, which is written and published on the request of the immigrants that we were also prisoners.
         As if we don't exist, some of us have been here for three months, the first day when the police arrested and brought here, we were taken from the criminal prints and so that there is no news of them to even ask what the time is.
        Every day, every hour, we ask them to let us sign the refugee sheet but the police don't care and lie that we have called with ptrwrạly̰ (Ậlạdạpwn: main immigration center) right now and this is not our fault but petrov the phone They don't pick up or they're busy and...

         We don't have money and contact outside is very expensive, we have to buy a phone card which is also four euro call for four minutes.
Most of us are alone in Greece, but we miss our families, for the light of the sunshine, because there is a building in the only cell window, which can prevent the touch of sun on our skin.
        We need the help of people who are out, we need that they care about us, yes it is true that we do not exist on our paper (mention of not having any legal sheet in proof that they exist) but the truth is that We exist.
       August 13th, when the police moved me to court for the trial, the first thing that came in front of my eyes was a court full of immigrants, when I talked to some of them, I realized that the only reason for their presence here is That their first face does not look like the ạrwpạỷy̰ạn, so the police have stopped them to search because in the racist of the system, your skin bell is enough to be charged with being a criminal; the second they did not have any legal proof to prove exist.
       I read my political statement, in a court where the immigrants were under racist insult of police; I read it, when I was full of armed police police with a gun that killed 15-Year-old teen Alexis Gry̰gwrwpwlws; I read it once. That a few days ago, the same courts released her killer; I read it, when the judges looked into my eyes and lie that how the court and the police deal with the Greek and the immigrants are no different; I read it, When it was very clear that the presence of immigrants in the court was part of the criminal program to show the identity of the immigrant identity; this trial was a good example for ahwazi justice, read injustice.

US Police Kill 234 Black People In 6 Months.

          An appeal from Color Of Change, an an organisation fighting police racism and brutality in the US. The figures speak for themselves, 234 Black individuals kill by the police in six months. What country can tolerate such blatant racial brutality, no way can a country be called civilizied that tolerates such racial brutality.

    My name is Scott Roberts, and this is my third day as Criminal Justice Director at ColorOfChange. For months, I have admired the hard work of ColorOfChange members like you and I am honored to be joining this critical community of people committed to achieving Black liberation — especially at a time like this.
   In the past 6 months, police have killed at least 234 Black people nationwide — an average of more than 1 person a day. 1

It’s a painfully familiar story:
        Police — driven by explicit or implicit anti-Black racism — brutalize or kill a Black person who is doing nothing more than shopping at the grocery store, driving home from work, playing in the park or reaching out for help;2,3,4,5 Law enforcement and police associations then criminalize the victim, often lying, filing false police reports or planting evidence to cover up the truth.6 The media jumps on board, but within just a few days or weeks journalists stop covering the story; the community and family are left broken hearted, fighting a near impossible fight for justice, which is almost always denied.7
      We must stop this vicious cycle. As we know from past experiences, police cannot police themselves. Prosecutors rely greatly on police for help with their cases, which makes it far less likely they will risk the political fallout that comes with holding abusive and discriminatory officers accountable. If we want justice, we need to be ready to take matters into our own hands.

     Following Sandra Bland’s tragic death in Waller County, TX you and more than 3,000 ColorOfChange members donated to hire a private investigator. It was clear from day one that Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis and Sheriff Glenn Smith would likely fail to properly investigate Sandra's death. If her family hadn't raised their voices, the public would've never seen the video of Texas State Trooper Brian Encinia racially profiling and violently arresting Sandra — DA Mathis was ready to wash his hands and rule Sandra's death a suicide, no questions asked.
      Part 1 of our investigation was released last week, and the results are deeply disturbing. Attorney Paul Looney, who was appointed by the Sheriff to lead an investigation into the Sheriff Department, has confirmed that the investigation is a sham: "We're not trying to do an exposé...[Sheriff Glenn Smith] can read it or not read it...if he wants to throw the whole thing in the trash can, he can.’"8
      This is exactly the type of information we need to help secure justice for Sandra. Following cases of police violence, local officials often wait for the media attention to fade away before denying justice to Black families suffering one of the worst injustices this world has to offer. But we can't let that happen. A Rapid Response Private Investigator Fund will allow us to uncover the truth, keep the media attention alive and expose the different forms of anti-Black racism in an area in order to plan campaigns for systemic change.
     Tragically, police will kill hundreds more Black people in the coming months and we must be ready to act quickly. This fall marks 10 years that ColorOfChange members have taken action to strengthen and amplify Black political power in America. In the coming days, you will receive a number of different fundraisers asking you to support the critical work of our community in the years ahead. We depend on you. Baltimore And Police Brutality.

An Appeal from Color Of Change:

      It has been more than two weeks since Baltimore police killed Freddie Gray and no officer has been fired, arrested, or prosecuted. Local officials don't even have answers to the most basic questions: Why did police violently arrest Gray? Why was this healthy 25-year-old's voice box crushed, his spleen ruptured and 80% of his spine severed after 45 minutes with Baltimore law enforcement? 1

       The lack of accountability for Gray's killing is unacceptable and the solution to Baltimore's policing crisis is not martial law or more militarized policing. Right now, we need widespread public pressure to ensure the necessary leadership and independent oversight to bring Gray's killers to justice and overhaul the Baltimore Police Department. Without independent oversight it's unlikely that Gray's killers will be held accountable. Local prosecutors work too closely with police on a day to day basis to hold them accountable — and they almost never do.2

Demand that Governor Hogan appoint Maryland's Attorney General to assist in the case.

      To be Black in Baltimore means every day is a risk. In a city overcome with racism, police violence, and a police union blocking reform,3 even the most simple activities — a walk down the street or the drive to work — could mean an unlawful arrest or deadly attack at the hands of law enforcement. According to an investigation by the Baltimore Sun, in just 5 years, 100 Baltimore residents have won $5.7 million worth of settlements relating to police brutality and civil rights. The stories are shocking, yet almost none of the officers were held accountable:4

• Jerriel Lyles, who was attacked by police on his way out of a convenience store: "The blow was so heavy. My eyes swelled up. Blood was dripping down my nose and out my eye.”
• Starr Brown, a pregnant woman slammed to the ground and kneed in the back by police after calling them for help: "They slammed me down on my face...The skin was gone on my face"
• An 87-year-old grandmother, who was attacked after calling an ambulance for her wounded son, was told: "B****, you ain’t no better than any of the other old black b**** I have locked up.”

       Following Freddie Gray's killing, a community tired of living under siege and facing decades of employment discrimination and decimated public housing is rising up to demand change.5 Last night, as the National Guard moved into Baltimore, images of militarized police tear gassing and beating protestors, fires, and outrage once again flashed across our TV screens. The best way to restore peace to Baltimore is for Governor Hogan and local leadership to undo the structural racism targeting its people. But right now, police are preparing to announce even harsher measures to crack down on the protests — like a curfew for youth6 — that will likely continue to escalate an already unacceptable level of confrontation and violence between police and citizens.

       Protestors in Baltimore are showing the same courageous resistance and vision for a better country that we see coming out of Ferguson, Madison, New York, Cleveland, Milwaukee, and other cities across the country. And just as in Ferguson, justice for the brutal police killing of Freddie Gray depends on Governor Hogan's leadership to do more than ramp up law enforcement.

Tell Governor Hogan and Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby to bring in Attorney General Brian Frosh to help secure justice for Freddie Gray.
