DEATH OF THE BEAST.

“On the daily 8 o’clock newscasts, the voice of the regime’s spokesmen has lost all confidence it used to have in the past. The state representatives attend fiestas, parades, restaurants and public streets only as long as they have assured an escape route, just in case they will have to run. Supermarkets are full of commodities and empty of consumers. The government’s people are trying on khaki clothes, military jackets and quotients and make their voice sound squeaky and metallic, just like the one of Michaloliakos1or of Papadopoulos2. The numbers of suicides are dashed. Some other farfetched guys pretend to be political messiahs, create parties and climb on TV crates to talk about the salvation of the people. The streets of the Metropolis are filled with cops and homeless people, cops and laid-off people, cops and protesters.
The Beast, which all these years had swallowed us, is now ill and at the same time pregnant. Corpulent and aged, it slowly dies out with the threat either to take us with it or to offer us to its newborn child as its legacy. Some have already loved the beast and refuse to face its upcoming end; some, having been trapped in its stomach for so long, cannot imagine any possibility of living without it; some others felt quite comfortable all these years with the safety it provided them and suddenly got terrified. Nobody knows what is there, outside the Beast’s stomach. Yet, the Beast is either going to die, or give birth, or both, and it’s getting ready for all cases. Now it’s our turn to start getting ready. In order to have the upper hand, we have to catch to kill it. At the same time, we must learn to live without it.”

WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON COPS, WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON??

I have always said that it is time that the police recognised whose side are they on. They are part of the 20%, the managers and flunkies that do the dirty work for the 1% that are clobbering the 79%. They are not and never will be, part of the 1% that they put themselves on the line to protect. Like the rest of the 20%, they really belong with the 79%, the protesters who are on the streets fighting for fair and decent education, health services, pensions and social benefits that the police and their families will depend on. So it is encouraging to see the Greek police beginning to shift their focus a little and realising that the protesters on the streets have a legitimate grievance, and also pointing in the direction of the real criminals.
Greece's largest police union has threatened to issue arrest warrants for officials from the country's European Union and International Monetary Fund lenders for demanding deeply unpopular austerity measures.

I particularly like this part of their statement:
"Since you are continuing this destructive policy, we warn you that you cannot make us fight against our brothers. We refuse to stand against our parents, our brothers, our children or any citizen who protests and demands a change of policy," said the union, which represents more than two-thirds of Greek policemen.
"We warn you that as legal representatives of Greek policemen, we will issue arrest warrants for a series of legal violations ... such as blackmail, covertly abolishing or eroding democracy and national sovereignty."

Come all you British coppers, whose side are you on, the 1% that is destroying the future your kids will inherit or are you with the protesters that are trying to defend the future for your kids???

OCCUPIERS, THE STATE DOESN'T LIKE YOU!!

Occupiers, the state doesn't like you, I suppose that is a compliment. As time goes on they will rack up the brutality against you, already there have been brutal repression in Oakland and now Denver. They will tolerate you and try to discredit you, but if there is a hint that you are a growing threat to their power, they will move in against you with all the force they deem necessary. Don't allow your movement to stagnate, think of new strategies to draw in more people, to broaden your attack on the system that is responsible for all that stinks in our society.
