Hypocrites.

Waiting for inflation to drop!!

Like me, I suppose your sick to the back teeth of hear those hypocritical platitudes spewed out by the parasite class that sit in those Westminster Houses of Hypocrisy and Corruption. While you and I struggle to pay our bills, put food on the table and heat our homes We have Rishi Sunak, with his £800 million luxury cushion, telling us we will "need to hold our nerve". He has no inkling of how we live our what we have to put up with while he spouts pie in the sky---tomorrow, maybe. It makes no difference to him if the price of basic food double in price, he won't even notice. Then we have that other mouthpiece of the system, Karen Ward, she is a member of the Jeremy Hunt Advisory Committee. Her take on the situation we face is, the Bank of England have been too hesitant in raising interest rates and they need to create a recession to get inflation under control. Do these people really understand what a recession does to the ordinary people of this country, or is it that they really don't give a damn? A recession is high unemployment low wages and a massive increase in poverty. All this so that the corporate world and their business buddies can increase their profit margins. Isn't it about time we decided that we can't live under this insane greed driven economic system. We must work to bring the whole stinking edifice down and put capitalism where it belongs, in the dustbin of history, labelled "Humanity's darkest hour".

Proxy War.

While every ordinary person in this country is feeling the effects of this massive drop in living standards and are crying out for some sort of relief, our lords and masters tell us there is no money tree and we will just have to suffer until the economy grows. No money for hospitals, social services, education, no money for the homeless, but it can find money to support the war in Ukraine. The UK is giving £2.5 billion in military aid and £1.5 billion in economic aid to Ukraine. Where is that money coming from? Most of it is coming from government departments "under-spend", no questions of why so much money was not spent by government departments when everybody in the country is calling out for support. This flow of money to Ukraine was also supplemented by robbing the Scottish and Welsh governments budgets to the tune of £95 million. Complaints by those two governments were met with, "these are exceptional times". They are also exceptional times for every ordinary person in this country, but that can be ignored as the UK try hard to look like a big imperial power, in this imperialist struggle for the survival of the supremacy of the Western imperialist world domination. Make no mistake, the Western powers will keep this fight going until the last Ukraine is dead, and if it looks like they might lose, then they will eagerly sacrifice the European population in their desire for world dominance.

They are trying to create the illusion that it is Ukraine that is fighting this war, utter bullshit. Ukraine may be supplying the cannon fodder, but the West is supplying the fire power and backing it up with more and more, highly destructive weapons.

Prepare.

With a brutal recession most certainly coming, what should we be doing to prepare for this capitalist inevitability? Where you live and your circumstance can and will dictate a great deal of how you manage the situation, but we should always remember, mutual aid, sharing and community co-operation are key to not just surviving, but winning in this battle between survival of capitalism or a better way to live for all.
The covid19 pandemic taught a lot of people the benefits of mutual aid, let's not lose that knowledge, we should expand it, learn from it and take those tools with us into this battle for survival, remember, a community can grow a lot of its own food with a wee bit of co-operation and effort. When the scourge of the capitalist recession hits us, the ordinary people, it will be brutal and you can be sure the establishment's main aim will be for the survival of capitalism, no matter the cost to human health and welfare. We owe it to our children and grandchildren to reverse that plan and see to the health and welfare of all our people at the expense of capitalism. They need us, we don't need them.
A few words of commonsense from Not Buying Anything:

Our pantry order arrived! Not a bit of plastic. Everything is packaged in heavy paper sacks.
We have been working on our pantry since we moved to Nova Scotia in 2014, but didn't really maximize on the space, having never had a real pantry before. We needed to get motivated. The pandemic provided us with a good kick in the butt, and this year we finally got down to business.
When we were researching our new home area, we discovered an agri-business in the Maritimes that specializes in locally grown organic staple foods. We also found a food buying group in our community. But we had not yet connected the two.
Enter The Virus and we had that extra bit of motivation we needed.
We tried to order directly from the wholesaler, but were told because of the pandemic they were very busy and had to enforce a minimum order of several hundred dollars or 600 pounds of delivered weight.
We couldn't do that. We are building a pantry, not a bunker.
Therefore, we contacted the local food buying group, and found that they deal with the supplier! We could order whatever we wanted, in any quantity.
They took our order by email, we paid by e-transfer, and when it came in a couple of weeks later, it was delivered right to our front door free of charge.
As much as possible, the products are from local organic farms. All their flour is stone ground, a process which retains more fibre and nutrients than steel roller milling which causes the loss of anywhere from 20 - 30% of the good stuff.
This is what was in our order. All of it is organic.
- 2.27 kg sesame seeds
- 2.27 kg soybeans
- 2 X 2.27 kg cornmeal
- 2.27 kg sunflower seeds
- 20 kg oatmeal
- 10 kg whole wheat flour
I have never seen a 20 kilogram bag of rolled oats before. What a beautiful thing, if you love oats, and we do. We were buying non-organic large oats (for the same price) in 1 kg plastic bags from the store previously.
That's 20 plastic bags we will not be using!
Over the next few weeks we will be augmenting our progressing pantry with food from the garden. We have already made strawberry jam, and we are looking forward to drying herbs, making pesto, canning pickled beets and cucumbers, as well as tomatoes and/or salsa.
We are also freezing things like bush and pole beans, peas, and kale.
We have also increased some amounts of pantry items. For many things, we try to always keep 2 in stock. Now we are keeping 3 of certain items, like peanut butter. The less we have to shop, the better, and this allows us to take advantage of sales when they come up.
Our food storage has never been this prepared before, and the timing couldn't be better. It all fits with giving up our vehicle, the pandemic, and an impending Greatest Depression.
       And who knows what else?

THEY'RE NOT STUPID!!

I have often spouted that as far as the financial Mafia are concerned, the economic situation is going to plan and that the real game plan is to transfer all public assets and services to the corporate world, but at the same time reduce Europe to one very large sweatshop so that the we can compete with the other sweatshop areas in the world. As far as the various national governments are concerned, their job is to keep the lid on the discontent caused by this policy at the same time as managing the process.
The following are two quotes from an excellent article from Infantile Disorder.
"But for all their mendacity and corruption, leading politicians are rarely stupid. Since John Maynard Keynes, the bourgeois have at least theoretically understood that increases - rather than reductions - in government spending stimulate a stagnant economy. When PMs and Chancellors since then have refused to do this, it has been because they've had an eye on the longer term picture, and have focused on reshaping the economic landscape. But no, that's a polite way of putting it. I really mean taking a sledgehammer to working class living standards."

"The politicians - and behind them the international banksters - are hellbent on using the economic crisis to reduce our living standards to those that existed before the working class made huge gains in the aftermath of World War Two. They figure that a recession makes this easier, as workers are more likely to put up with their lot, for fear of losing their jobs, their homes, and so on. However, an elastic band can only be stretched so far before it snaps back, and that day is fast approaching."

ECONOMICS EXPLAINED.

While this present "financial crisis" is rumbling along sucking all the wealth from the poor to the very rich, we keep getting all sorts of economic explanations from the academics and politicians. We get Keynesian to Marxist theories thrown at us, all in jargon that doesn't mean much to the ordinary member of the public, the ones hardest hit. Seldom do we get the truth set out in accurate but simple form, that we can all accept and understand. The following is probably the most straight forward, honest and simplest explanation that will come your way.

BANKS GAMBLE - YOU OWE THE MONEY??

" To understand why each Greek owes €30,000 in debt requires an understanding of the role of credit in the capitalist system. Fractional reserve banking allows banks to lend more money than they actually have. In boom times everything looks rosy to the capitalists and credit is extended and profit rates look healthy. But this expansion of credit fuels overproduction. It then starts to dawn that debt-saturation means not all loans will be repaid. Banks become reluctant to lend to one another and credit dries up. This is a credit crunch. As capitalists retreat to cash, effective demand in the market reduces and a recession occurs."

The above is a short extract from an interesting and informative article in that excellent paper and website, THE COMMUNE. Take a peek and grasp a firm understanding of how and why we are being screwed by the wealthy, the name of the game is capitalism.
