Should Psychopaths Be Allowed To Rule The World?

       From the vast majority of the people of the world the cry is "No war in Syria", from the Western marble halls of power, where millionaires and corporate parasites slither around greasing each other's arsehole with money, the call is for war. Who should prevail? Should it be the small bunch who never feel the horror of battle, but stand to gain in power and wealth, or should be the majority who will bear the brunt of the ensuing chaos unleashed by this act of brutal cruelty to be visited on the people of Syria? Sanity and justice should answer our questions. The people of Syria are suffering enough without Billy the Kid riding in gung-ho, and shooting them up with a few cruise missiles. We are governed by dangerous greedy psychopaths, if we govern ourselves, there would be no war.

Syria Chemical Attack, -- Who Dunnit??

      The Western hounds of war are baying for more blood, and useing the chemical attack in Syria as their excuse. To them the truth of who used those chemical weapons is of no real interest, it is the best pretext they can find to do something that they have wanted to do for many a year, bring about regime change in Syria. The Syrian people have the "misfortune" of living in a country where the state does not let  the mighty dollar control its natural resources. So it has to be changed. Fighting a proxy war by backing a ragbag of militias seemed like a good option, but it seems that the Asaad state apparatus is now getting the upper hand. So they have to up their game and stick the boot in, to help the Jihadist get in, and do their dirty work. The Obama/Cameron/Hollande hounds of war wanted a quick fix, get in and bomb the shit out of the regime before people found out who actually used the chemical weapons. However, it is not going that way, and the longer the delay in their use of "smart, democratic" cruise missiles, which only kill bad people, the more information keeps coming out that it was not the Asaad regime that used the chemical weapons. It is now looking more and more that it was our nice friends in the Syrian Free Army. That ratbag of everything from religious fundamentalists, to fascists, from jihadist to power crazy militias, that we have poured affection and millions of dollars into, don't seem to have too much of a problem of gassing their own. Is this the birth of democracy in Syria? Anything backed by the Western corporate greed machine, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, etc. does not bode well for the people.

     The Obama administration has selectively used intelligence to justify military strikes on Syria, former military officers with access to the original intelligence reports say, in a manner that goes far beyond what critics charged the Bush administration of doing in the run-up to the 2003 Iraq war.

     According to these officers, who served in top positions in the United States, Britain, France, Israel, and Jordan, a Syrian military communication intercepted by Israel’s famed Unit 8200 electronic intelligence outfit has been doctored so that it leads a reader to just the opposite conclusion reached by the original report.

       The doctored report was picked up on Israel’s Channel 2 TV  on Aug. 24, then by Focus magazine in Germany, the Times of Israel, and eventually by The Cable  in Washington, DC.

According to the doctored report, the chemical attack was carried out by the 155th Brigade of the 4th Armored Division of the Syrian Army, an elite unit commanded by Maher al-Assad, the president’s brother.

However, the original communication intercepted by Unit 8200 between a major in command of the rocket troops assigned to the 155th Brigade of the 4th Armored Division, and the general staff, shows just the opposite.

       The general staff officer asked the major if he was responsible for the chemical weapons attack. From the tone of the conversation, it was clear that “the Syrian general staff were out of their minds with panic that an unauthorized strike had been launched by the 155th Brigade in express defiance of their instructions,” the former officers say.

       According to the transcript of the original Unit 8200 report, the major “hotly denied firing any of his missiles” and invited the general staff to come and verify that all his weapons were present.

     The report contains a note at the end that the major was interrogated by Syrian intelligence for three days, then returned to command of his unit. “All of his weapons were accounted for,” the report stated.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong??

     Who knows the spark that will start the fire? While the Western psychopathic trio, Obama, Cameron and Hollande, prepare for their next drive-by shooting, Russia sends two warships to the Eastern Mediterranean. With all the insane military swaggering and a Mediterranean  bristling with devastating weaponry, what could possibly go wrong?

      Must we always put ourselves under the yoke of insanity? Why do we allow the deranged to drive the juggernaut? Boston Military Lock-down.

      The Boston bombing was a very serious affair and must have been frightening for those runners and spectators near the scene. However, what was also frightening to see, was how tenuous is the citizen's hold on the right to freedom of movement. In one swift movement an entire city was shut down, businesses closed, Amtrak and Boston public transport to New York shut down, and people warned to stay inside and lock their doors. The city was swarming with what looked like the cast of Star Wars. A million people willingly locked down, why, because a teenager was on the run. Obama, of course said all the right things to make the citizens of Boston compliant, he praised them for being resolute, brave and not cowed, when in fact they were all sitting at home behind locked doors, leaving the streets to the state's muscle. It would seem that when push comes to shove, even that slim semblance of Madame Democracy, can so very easily be locked down. The scenes beamed across the world were a perfect portrayal of a warrior nation moving into overkill, a perfect example of how to lock-down a city when desired. The manhunt for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was a massive exercise in over reaction, creating a state of siege on the city of Boston, imposed by a military state. In spite of this, it was not the professional state muscle men that found the teenager, it was one of Boston's citizens.

       I can't remember who said it but this was a perfect example, “What's the difference between the state and a terrorist? The terrorist is the one with the small bomb.” Killing innocent people is always unacceptable, but let's not forget, the state is the biggest killer of innocent people on the planet.

Imperialist Office Warriors.

      President Obama's inaugural speech last month was the voice of hypocrisy, The Prince of Peace stated, and stated without a hint of embarrassment, that “A decade of war is now ending,” --”We, the people, still believe that enduring and lasting peace do not require perpetual war.” What that translates into is, “We will not be sending so many of you overseas to kill and maim, you will be able to do this from a comfortable office in Nevada and Saudi Arabia.

     We are now seeing foreign invading troops preparing to leave Afghanistan without having achieved their object, since nobody seems to be able to say what was the object. That doesn't mean the end of the military campaign, the war will continue from computer screens in the form of drones. According to a report from the area of North Waziristan, from 2008 to 1012, there have been around 147 drone strikes, killing 894 people with 211 injured. This year has seen an escalation in the number of drone attacks in Pakistan and Yemen.

      The face of imperialist wars is changing, weapon laden armour plated boots will still be called on to do some of the dirty work, but this will be their cleaning up operations. The real slaughter will be done by young smooth faced office workers, sitting at their desks marking up scores on hits, just like any other computer game. Only this time it is for real, real bodies being blown to bits, real children dying, real homes being demolished. No need to be a battle hardened trained killer, you can make you way up the military ladder by having the highest score of hits in the office.

       Just to encourage those 9 to 5 office work killers and make them feel part of the “hero” brigade, they are considering creating a medal for the cyber-killers. Defence Secretary Leon Panetta recently announced that the Pentagon is creating a medal that can be awarded to troops who have a direct impact on combat operations, but do it well away from any combat zone.

     To those on the receiving end of drone warfare, the result is just as bloody, destructive and terrifying as any other type of warfare. There is no such thing as clean humane warfare. Drones of course sanitise it for the perpetrators of that destructive violence. You can kill from 9 to 5 and then go home to your family and have a night out. This is the new imperialist warfare. In an interview Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta. Asked by journalist Martha Raddatz whether the 2014 pullout of U.S. troops from Afghanistan would mean an increased reliance on drones, Panetta said: “ I think that's reality. We've done that in Pakistan. We're doing it in Yemen and elsewhere. And I think the reality is it's going to be a continuing tool of national defense in the future.”

     There is a ready trained army of computer literate kids, experts at computer games all well able to spend a few hours a day playing their game and getting paid and walking away as if it were “just a game”. It is a frightening thought, but it is our future, unless we do something to change the system.

        America is probably the state that shouts loudest about freedom and democracy, it is also the most militarily aggressive state in the world. As far as the latter part of the 20^th and 21^s century goes, it heads the leader-board for shear destructive bombardment, the list of countries bombed by America since the end of the second world war, can only be seen as a charge sheet of some sort of psychopath.

       On top of the dubious accolade of having bombed approximately one third of the earth's population, beyond its own borders, it wears what can only be seen as the badge of a tyrant and a brutal dictatorship, Guantanamo Bay Camp. No matter how you dress the language, no matter how you shape the description, no matter the legal terminology you dress it in, Guantanamo Bay breaks every moral, ethical and legal code, it breaks all laws of decency and justice, it stands as a citadel to tyranny. Despite the Pope of Hope, the Prince of Peace, Obama's promise in 2008, to close this symbol of lawlessness, today it still stands and functions in the name tyranny.

LISTEN TO WHAT I SAY - DON'T LOOK AT WHAT I DO!!!

        As usual the American government is speaking in its customary duplicitous manner. Its mouthpiece Obama, spouts crap regarding the various and many dictators in the Middle East condemning their repression of peaceful protests, calling for restraint, while selling them the arms and equipment to carry out that repression. At this moment in time the state of Bahrain, with the aid of Saudi troops, is trying to crush any protesters that have the courage to criticise the corrupt and brutal regime. So what does our freedom, peace loving Obama administration do? Well naturally, it does what it always does, it wags its finger with a tut-tut-tut and the proceeds to sell them the necessary equipment to crush the protester. While protesters die on the streets of Bahrain, the US Department of Defence is now preparing to sell $53 million worth of armoured Humvees and missiles to the brutal dictatorship of Bahrain. Well in capitalism, business is business and people are dispensable.

        We know we can't take the words that come from the mouths of those nasty dictators in those strange foreign lands that the West is always trying to bomb into democracy, but is there any statement that we can take at face value when it drips out the mouth of any one of those Western corporate stooges that we call the political class?

MODERN IMPERIALISM - CORPORATE FASCISM!!

            We can go through the wars that the UK, as a Western imperialist power, has been involved in since the beginning of the 20^th century, World War 1, 1914-18, World war 2, 1939-45, Korea, 1950-53, Suez, 1956-56, and the short but bloody Falklands 1982-82. All these wars have one thing in common, the all have an end date. However in 2001 Western imperialism entered a new phase, we entered the era of the war without end, the war on terrorism. Not long after the 9/11 attacks in America, president George W. Bush announced a new doctrine, a new national security strategy of pre-emptive war, to strike at terrorist groups and states that allegedly pose a threat, or are developing a credible threat, to the United States, Britain and most of the Western nations actively supported this stand. Obama continued this doctrine, and what it is, is basically a licence for the West to wage aggressive war whereever they think fit. Ironically, Obama endorsed the doctrine of pre-emptive war, when giving a speech accepting the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. What he endorsed was the type of action that the Nuremberg trials at the end of World War 2, had outlawed and condemned.

        There is absolutely no doubt that our cynical political class have been using the war on terror to keep the population in a permanent state of fear and to push through military and surveillance contracts, handing the corporate world trillions in tax payers money. In America since the 9/11 event, the US ruling political elite has spent US$8 trillion on homeland security. The war on terror is also intended to give their imperialist wars across the globe, a stamp of legitimacy. Of course we can ask, is the world any safer because of the illegal war on terror and its accompanying financial cost and human death and suffering? Has the obliteration of Iraq as a functioning country and the 10 year slaughter in Afghanistan made the world a safer place to live?

         I think it is safe to say that the war on terror has failed miserably to stop attacks on Western countries. We are told that it has foiled numerous attacks on Western cities, but we never get the information to verify these stories. What we can be sure of is that the actual manifestation of the war on terror, extraordinary renditions, unmanned drones with their death and destruction, barbaric torture and inhumane treatment at Guantanamo and Bagram prison, Western forces killing thousands of Muslim civilians across large swaths of the planet, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, to mention a few, is and will continue to build up an unstoppable anger and hatred of the West. You can't make friends with people while you destroy their homes and kill their family and friends. The war on terror is one method of securing natural resources for the West and feeding trillions of tax payers money to the massive corporate military industrial complex that controls our subservient and complicit political class. In the West, imperialism is alive and well.

OK CORRAL MENTALITY.

     

      With all the hooray, back-slapping and triumphalism of Obama's visit to this country so soon after the assassination of Osama Bin Laden gives the impression that we all agree with this action, a state action that defies the rule of law. It makes his statement that America and Britain have, “the ability to lead the world not by force but by example” all the more hypocritical. When has Britain or America lead the world by the rule of law, both countries have bombed and blasted innumerable countries into submissive arrangements, all "just wars" of course.

     

      We should read his patronising statement as no more than simply a bit of UK public ego stroking, what he really meant was that America will lead the world. Of course he doesn't consult with the world as to whether it wants to be lead by America or any other nation for that matter. It is the same old macho Americanism, the OK Corral culture still prevails, dressed up in modern clothes but just as selfish and just brutal.

MORE AN THAT,- LAND OF THE FREE!!!.

       The following information was gleaned from an article on DISSIDENT VOICE, the full article is well worth a read, very detailed and informative.

       While it is becoming more widely know that the US imprisons a greater proportion of its citizens than any other country in the world, it should also be noted that the US, that Land of the Free has seen an increase in the number of peaceful protesters being arrested since Obama came to office. Since the Obama inauguration there have been over 2,600 arrests of activists protesting in the US. Recent research shows that since the start of 2011 over 670 individuals have been arrested at protests in the US. More than 1290 during 2010 and 665 arrested during 2009.

       There has been a steady increase in the number of people arrested at protests since 2009 and these protests have covered a wide range of campaigns. They have been protests against US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Guantanamo, strip mining, home foreclosures, Nuclear weapons, immigration policies, mistreatment of hotel workers, police brutality budget cut backs, the mistreatment of Bradley Manning, Blackwater, attempts to cut back on collective bargaining.

      What is also happening in the US is that there is a steady increase in the number of Americans willing to risk arrest and imprisonment for acts of civil disobedience. That itself is a healthy sign that the American people are becoming more aware of the total lack of democracy in their country.

A CALL FROM STOP THE WAR COALITION.

     

     Without a trace of irony, President Barack Obama -- the commander-in-chief of an empire which straddles the world, who has more than doubled the troops in Afghanistan, who continues to occupy Iraq, who has dramatically escalated a deadly drone war in Pakistan and who is currently bombing Libya -- spoke last week of the "moral force of non-violence" and said he "will not tolerate aggression across borders".      Obama is currently waging three wars which are opposed by the majority of people in Britain and the United States -- in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. He has already, in his first two years in office, attacked six countries -- two more than George W Bush.

    This is why Stop the War, CND and other organisations have organised an anti-war protest at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday 24 May, at 5.30pm, when Obama is on a state visit to Britain, with bed and breakfast provided by the Queen.

    The protest will call for the withdrawal of all troops from Afghanistan, an immediate end to the bombing of Libya and freedom for Palestine, which yet again was let down in Obama's speech last week by rhetoric which far outstripped any indication that he is going to do anything to stop Israel's countless violations of international law.

THE POPE OF HOPE, THE PRINCE OF PEACE!!!

     

      The President of America, once the Pope of Hope, the man of change, is visiting the UK next week. He will be visiting the Queen at Buckingham Palace, he sure knows where the power lies in this country. Far from bringing an end to George. W. Bush's marauding wars, the man of change has lived up to his promise and changed in to a higher gear when it comes to wars and killing. Drone attacks in Pakistan have dramatically increased during his term, with the resultant massive increase in innocent deaths from these attacks. He has presided over attacks in Yemen, Pakistan, Somalia and Libya and continues to occupy Afghanistan and Iraq. Remember all the euphoria when this man was elected? At last, an end to the macho war stance of George W. Bush, enter the Prince of Peace, St. Obama. Well this man of peace is spending more on military operations than any other president of America.

      His latest waft of wind to come from his mouth, the rhetoric about reaching out to the Muslim world and finding a path to peace for the Palestinians, while at the same time involved in bombing and occupying three Muslim countries. This reaching out, also involves supporting and propping up ruthless dictators across that same Muslim world, while supporting Israel in its land grabbing and genocide of the Palestinian people and supporting Israel financially and military as they flaunt countless international laws. The violence inflicted on the Palestinian people by Israel is never criticised let alone condemned by this reaching out, path way to peace, president of America.

    I always refer to Libya as Cameron's war, every prime minister and president seems to want their own war, but he couldn't have got his way without the wink and nod from the Prince of Peace, St. Obama. We in the West belong to an empire of violence, the West will bomb and occupy any country that has resources that we want if that is the best way to get those resources. We live in a world of corporate fascism. For our corporate beasts to grow they must have all those cheap resources and the states put their stamp of legitimacy on the brutal conflicts to grab what the corporate world demand.

      There is an alternative, a world free from the grip of corporate greed, a world of co-operation, mutual aid and sustainability based on the needs of all our people. A world free from the profit motive that belongs to the people, a world that we would be proud to hand to the next generation, our kids and our grand kids. A world free from the fear of exploitation and deprivation. First we have to stop looking to leaders, Popes of Hope, Princes of Peace and take control of our own lives, control our own communities and in federation with other communities take control and shape our own world. It is their world, or it is our world, there is no compromise.

STOP THE BOMBING OF LIBYA NOW: PROTEST 19 APRIL

        Britain France and the US have now come clean. The article signed by Cameron, Sarkozy and Obama, and published today in Washington, Paris and London, makes clear the war on Libya is not about protecting civilians but about regime change. Having ignored peace moves from the African Union, NATO is now set on escalating the bombing.

The humanitarian spin they are putting on the operation is exposed by the fact that the Western governments continue to support brutal regimes in Yemen, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, where severe repression against democracy activists continues virtually uncriticised.

        Meanwhile as predicted the bombing is claiming many civilian casualties and helping to deepen the division in the country. In response to the continued bombing and this open and illegal statement of intent, Stop the War has called a protest at Downing Street next Tuesday 19 April at 5pm.
