Reading a piece from ROAR Mag, on the Greek debt situation, I was fascinated by the image displayed at the head of the article. Though the article was interesting and informative, all I could think of when looking at the image, was that phrase that we hear constantly form our babbling brook of bullshit, the mainstream media, "Getting on the property ladder".

Does Utopia Exist?
Does Utopia exist? Well, there is a
small town in Andalusia in Spain called Marinaleda, with a population
of just over 2,700 and they have no municipal police, another feature
of this small town is that every week or so they declare a “Red
Sunday” when the citizens go out and clean the streets and do odd
jobs about the town that need doing. Marinaleda runs a 3,000 acre
farming co-operative, employing 2,650 people, the farm is about 7
miles outside of town, as well as olive groves, they grow artichokes,
broad beans, broccoli and peppers and has a section growing wheat.
This didn't come about with a grand plan in some central office, but
was born from the struggle of the people of the town, and their
belief that planning the future is not enough, the future has to be
built here and now, in the present, brick by brick.
The mayor of this remarkable town
is one, Juan Manuel Sánchez Gordillo and is quoted as saying,
‘The myth of capitalism has crumbled,’ he announced, ‘that the market is an omnipotent God that fixes everything with his invisible hand. We’ve seen this is a great lie, a stupid fundamentalism: we’ve seen that in times of crisis, markets have had to resort to the state, and that states are putting money into the banks.-----If there were any justice in the world the big bankers, and the governments that allowed them to perpetrate their economic terrorism, would be in jail. And those same people who caused the crisis are the ones who now want to fix it. The pyromaniac wants to play the fireman! Mrs Merkel and Mr Sarkozy want to speak for the banks and fix what they caused.
You can read more on this human
endeavour for justice in the book The Village Against The World.
An interesting fact about Spain is
that in 2008, Spain's financial situation was well withing the
Eurozone's fiscal rules. In fact, Spains government debt as
percentage of its GDP, was lower than Germany's. The debt was created
out of the crash, it was not the debt that caused the crash. Hundreds
of billions of Euros were poured into Spains banks after the crash.
It was the financial market's collapse that caused the debt and the
resultant “austerity” (read poverty) across the whole of Europe.
We the people are still paying for the greed of that parasite army,
the financial Mafia. Perhaps we should be taking a leaf out of
Marinaleda's book, and building our future here and now brick by
brick, outside this festering mess of capitalism.

NOT A LIVING WAGE IN SIGHT.
Here we are in the UK, one of the richest countries in the world, with our lords and masters spouting how we are not like Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain. We are told that we are managing our affairs much better than those so called "PIIGS". However, in spite of our "good management" recent figures from KPMG tell us that 1 in 5 people in work in the UK don't receive a living wage, that equates to 4.82 million working people not getting enough to meet a decent standard of living.
It varies from occupation to occupation, with bar staff having a staggering 90% not receiving a living wage and waitresses and waiters not far behind with 4 out 5 trying to get by, receiving less than the living wage. Outside London the living wage is set at £7:20 an hour and our parasitical employers can't even match that. The KPMG survey also found that 4 out 10 surveyed, stated that they were financially worse off than a month ago. The union Unite research shows that on average, people are being force to borrow £325 a month to pay for essentials such as food and housing.
That is the state of affairs at the moment and there are more "austerity" measures coming down the line to hit the poorest and most vulnerable. We are not a poor country, we can afford to fight 11 year wars costing billions of pounds, support and upgrade a nuclear fleet costing more billions of pounds. Our parasitical "chiefs" of industry can afford to pay themselves millions in bonuses and pensions, we can afford to throw billions of pounds at the corrupt banking system, whose bosses continue to pay themselves millions in bonuses, salaries and pensions.
We can afford a decent life for everybody in this country, it is just that system is set up to siphon the wealth up to that small army of leeches that sit with their sweaty little hands on the control levers. Until we sort that out we will continue to be screwed, we will continue to see ever increasing numbers of ordinary people slip into ever increasing deprivation. It is not the lack of wealth and resources that is the problem, it is the stinking exploitive unjust greed driven system that is the problem.

CLOISTERED, PAMPERED IDIOT.
Reading
well manicured millionaire Cameron's speech given at the Tory party
conference, re-enforced my opinion that the guy is an idiot with no
grasp of reality, our reality, his is a different world. Telling the
ordinary people of this country to clear their credit cards to help
the banks, displays his total lack of understanding of how the
ordinary people live. He lives such a cloistered life cocooned and
pampered in the millionaires club, he can't grasp that most ordinary
people have debt on their credit card because they can't afford to
buy things cash. Unlike him and his parasite friends, who think it is
perfectly normal just to clear your credit card and then nip out and
buy the odd bed room suite or new garage and pay with cash, most
people with debt have difficulty paying for their heating, their food
bills and travel expenses, and don't get paid enough to nip down to
the retail park and just buy another washing machine cash, hence the
debt. To the ordinary individual, the credit card is not just a
convenient way of buying, in this type of society, it quite often, is the only way of buying,
we are a low wage economy, when you have a job.
"Clear your credit cards, we bankers need your cash."
He
then goes on to tell us to, "show a bit of fight”, from a man who
has never had to fight for anything in his entire life. What does he
mean? When our gas bill comes in, how should we fight that? Is he
saying that we shouldn't pay and instead just pick a fight with the
energy company, if so I'm with him all the way. So all you who are in
a lousy job with crap wages, and have been facing a wage freeze the
last couple of years, and are struggling to make ends meet, follow your
great leader millionaire Cameron, and just clear your credit card to
help the banks and show some fight when the bills come in, what an
arsehole.

WHOSE DEBT IS IT ANYWAY???
This world is built on debt, every country is more or less obliged to borrow, then when their debt is too big for them to handle they sell their debt. Then the countries that buy the debt have too much debt they sell the debt, eventually every country is carrying too much debt and they scurry around for somebody else to buy their debt, but nobody can, well except the Joe public, the tax payer. so they, have to pay for the debt with "austerity cuts", translated that means slashing their standard of living, throwing millions on the dole destroying all social services and selling off all public assets, so that the insane mery-go-round can start up again and the banks and bond markets don't lose their greed gotten gains.
