Libertad.

Prisons are state institutions that are meant to subdue dissent, create subservience, breed submission. History has proved that these institution have, very often failed in their purpose. The human spirit so often overcomes attempts to shackle its desire for freedom and justice. I have no doubt that this desire will eventually win, and we will pull down the walls of these symbols of state control and cruelty, along with the system that requires them for its very existence. There is no place for prisons in any civilised society, they are there to protect the status-quo, to keep wealth and power where it is, clasped in the greedy hands of the pampered, privileged, parasite class.
Santiago, Chile: Letter from Anarchist Prisoner Mónica Caballero
Palabras de la compañera Monica Caballero desde la cárcel de San Miguel ($hile)
For those opposed to this system of terror, prison is always a bitter pill and it always hurts.
Prison and I are old acquaintances, on more than one occasion I have sat at his table, over the years we have changed and we have both learned from one another… but no matter how much time I spend in prison, I remain the same. Prison is still the monstrous phagocyte of power that grows with submission and repentance, and I continue with the same seditious desires of yesteryear.
The powerful succeeded in locking up my restless body, they tried to guard it for many years, but even though it is caged, my heart is still out there far from fences, high walls and watchful eyes… the grey of this place only touches me superficially.
The prison is another place of struggle on the road to confrontation, the anti-authoritarian confrontation for me has not finished, it has only changed shape.
Dear Juan Aliste, Joaquín García, Marcelo Villarroel and Dinos Giagtzoglou‘s words are a breath of fresh air in this cell.
There is still much to build and to destroy!

We Are All Born Anarchists.

In our continuous struggle for freedom and justice for all, we take inspiration from from those who have, unstinting, unwavering, given their lives to that cause. We take energy from their lives, we are honoured to take up the struggle, to carry the baton on to the next stage. Some of those who inspire us have lived a long and hard life, unrelenting in their desire for that better world. It is seldom that a child is the warrior that inspires us, but Javier Recabarren, was such a child, born in poverty but courageous in is battles against injustice, at the young age of 11, on March 18th 2015, he was killed  on the street where he fought many of his battles, run over by a bus.
His life should re-enforce that belief that we are all born anarchists, it is the present society that attempts to shape and mould us, to fit into their neat little boxes, all the easier to control.

PROPAGANDA AND SABOTAGE FOR TOTAL LIBERATION
We remember the young anarchist fighter Javier Recabarren, who died on the 18th of March 2015, after being run over by a bus from the company Transantiago.
On the 18th of March our comrade Javier Recabarren died after being run over by a bus outside of his school. However, this 11 year old boy was no ordinary kid. Whoever crossed his path noticed his unshakeable desire for freedom.
He was a member of the “Animal collective: Raise your voice” and participated in extensive manifestations for animal liberation initiatives. He also regularly performed anarchist activities that involved practising revolutionary solidarity with our comrades in prison. Naturally, he was also involved in the Street Fights, fearlessly facing the police and burning flags of the United States. These actions led him to be detained by the bastards on several occasions.
The war that Javier started is a clear sign to keep fighting against all forms of power and authority, along with continuing the fight for animal liberation and practising revolutionary solidarity in order to ensure that Javier’s vision prevails and transcends… This young fighter inspires us to maintain our chosen path towards total liberation.
¡¡COMRADE JAVIER RECABARREN: PRESENT!!
¡¡Today we will give you a minute of silence… and a lifetime of fighting!!

Self Determination Will Be Ours.

All people desire freedom and the right to self determination, in this world of capitalism unbelievably few people have those desires satisfied. However, more and more people are awakening to the reality that nobody can give you these heart felt desires, you have to take them for yourself. Over the centuries appealing to those with wealth and power to be a bit more liberal in sharing that wealth and power has proved useless, we are still governed by that wealth and power, our lives are still shaped and controlled by that wealth and power. One thing we can be sure of is that the desire for freedom and the right to self determination will not disappear, nor will that control over us remain intact, it will break. It is already cracking and crumbling as across the planet people are coming together and no longer demanding, but taking that freedom and fighting for that right to self determination. You can name you country and there will be growing resistance to state and corporate control over our lives. Some of this struggle manifests itself in small groups, sporadic clashes with authority, others are long and fierce battles that face the full armoury of the state, costing lives. No matter how small or how large, how prolonged or short, all of these struggles strengthen in the consciousness of the people, that never dying desire for freedom and the right to self determination.
One of the many struggles that our babbling brook of bullshit, the mainstream media, never thought fit to report on is the long running struggle in Hidalgo, in Mexico, which flared up in intensity at the beginning of this year, and this recent uprising is one that cost the lives, by police bullets, of at least two of those in struggle.
This from Ruptura Collectiva:

Although social-democrats and opportunists like Gerardo Fernández Noroña, John Ackerman and Javier Solalinde (El Padre Solalinse) have moved to preach peace in times of war and the importance of the electoral process, in the community assembly there are community members and affinity groups that are working hard to direct the struggle toward autonomy. They are working toward the total self-management of life in the municipality, to rupture the dependence of people on political representatives. “Nobody will come and save us.”
There are some complaints against the mass media that talk of “chaos”, a “conflict” or a “final battle” in what clearly was the direct expression of class antagonism in an act of extermination against totally legitimate protest.
On January 19th, more than 2000 people marched in the city of Pachuca. They protested outside the congress to demand dialogue with the deputies that have approved the structural reforms: the media again, almost jokingly, said that the protestors “retained”, “cornered”, or “kidnapped” deputies. What side are the independent journalists on? They are small seeds that the people are planting, in order to move towards communicative autonomy, leaving paid and self-referenced cartoons to the “specialists of communication.”
After the insurrection, the organizational activities increased. On Sunday, January 15th, the state gathering “No to the gasolinazo” was celebrated with the participation of dozens of delegates from Hidalgo, teachers of the CNTE and people from other struggles in the country. On the 19th a march in Pachuca took place which culminated in the already mentioned “popular kidnapping” of deputies of the PRI. On Sunday the 22nd of January, workers from various multinational stores and institutions affected by the blockades, marched to demand that the “rioters open our centers of work”. For their part, the people of Ixmiquilpan gathered in the parking lot of the Comercial Mexicana to continue directing the routes of movement.
