Spivs.

All of the above.

Nobody likes getting ripped off by spivs and con artists, so why do we tolerate being ripped off by big corporations? Through this winter ordinary households have put up with cold homes to the detriment of everybody, especially kids and elderly, while the energy companies have been making billions in profits. What these energy companies and their minders the state don't mention is that wholesale gas prices are now as low as they were just before the war in Ukraine. A mild winter in UK and Europe has driven gas prices down more than 4% to 178p per therm. The last time we saw gas below 180p per therm was before the war in Ukraine. At the start of that imperialist bloodshed the price of gas rose rapidly to 329p a therm, skyrocketing to 875p a therm by August. The energy companies were very quick in raising their prices to make sure they still made a huge profit. It has now been steadily falling to pre war levels but there has been no watching drop in price to you and I.
You have to admit, you are being ripped off by spivs and con artists who live in the lap of luxury at our expense. How long will we allow ourselves to be mugs to the billionaire parasite class, how long will behave like milk-cows to the capitalist system, how long will we pay for an Oxbridge education for that millionaire/billionaire parasite class while we struggle for a decent life?
Of course the energy companies are not the only rip-off merchants in town. Denise Coates CEO of bet365 had an annual salary of £250 million plus £97.5 million in dividends to March 2022. Making her the highest paid executive in the UK. Where do you think that money comes from? They are laughing at us.

Expoitation.

It is difficult to take your mind off the so called "cost of living crisis" because of the amount of suffering and hardship that will hit millions of ordinary people in this country and across the world. However, on examination you realise that it is not a "cost of living crisis", it is in fact an "exploitation crisis".
For example, the wholesale price of gas is 37% cheaper than it was at its peak in March, but retail prices are 53% more expensive than they were in March. Meanwhile British Gas, during the same period, posted an increase of 411% in profits during that period. BP have just announced the highest profits in the company's history, approximately £7 billion. This little earner could mean that the BP CEO Bernard Looney will be in line for an obscene remuneration of £11.7 million. Though in this case we are the real "loonies" for accepting this daily plundering of our lives.
Now hand on heart and say this is a cost of living crisis and we are all in it together. When will we wake up to the fact that we are being shafted day and daily by a group of billionaires, aided and abetted by the corporate world's minders, the state. They are two sides of the same coin, inseparable, licking each others backsides.

 A trade off!!

Of course it is not a local problem, it is a world wide plundering and pillage of the ordinary people. For example EXXON's profits are stated to be $2,245.62 every second of every day. Where do you think all that money goes?

Unacceptable.

There is a lot of talk at the moment of the impending brutal attack coming down the line on the living standards of the ordinary people of this country, and rightly so. However what we should not forget is that the living standards in this country have been falling for quite some time. The system is merely accelerating the process at an ever increasing rate. A recent survey from Food Foundation comes up with some figures that tell a story of ever falling living standards in one of the richest countries in the world. Their figures show the extent to which this capitalist system is punishing the ordinary people. According to their findings, during January 2022, 4.7 million adults, 8.8% of the population, experienced food insecurity, that's up 20.5% from last July. The survey also found that according to a response from over 4,000 questioned, showed that 62% of households were struggling with higher food and energy costs. While 16% stated that they cut back on food to service other essential bills.

When times are hard, parasites play.
Billionaires double their wealth during pandemic.

This is the state of the living conditions of millions of people in this country at the moment, and we are about to face a tsunami of vicious price increases in everything for food to energy to taxation. The bunch of privileged parasites that manage and administer this attack on us, will always display it in figures on a balance sheet, the economy and what the economy can afford. However the reality of this savage attack on living standards translates into ill health in our children, early deaths in our elderly and a stunted life for most.
Meanwhile, energy companies are shovelling billions into the bank accounts of CEO and shareholders. This year BP's little profit earner was $12.9 billion and Shell's $19.3 billion. All of this will disappear into the pockets of the parasite class, to keep them in the luxury to which they believe they are entitled. While you and I can go to hell in a paper cart.

Is this the system under which we wish to live, is this how we will treat our children and our grandparents, is this what we wish to pass on to future generations? Or will we finally stand up and take control of our lives and through community solidarity and mutual aid take action to finally destroy this system of insane economics that pampers the privileged few.
