WHOSE WORLD IS IT???

According to our wonderful unbiased mainstream media, this isn't happening. We are talking about thousands occupying Wall St, we are talking about 700 arrests at the Brooklyne Bridge, we are talking about the area being occupied for nearly two weeks, and occupations popping up all over America. It would seem that our media has a problem with its near sight and can't see what is under its nose but has good long sight and can tell you what is happening a couple of thousand miles away, of course with a bit of distortion.

The stench of the greed from the system is beginning to choke the nostrils of the people and they don't like it. Across the globe people are coming onto the streets and the shout is always the same, “the system doesn't work for the people”. How can we accept a system that alienates so many people. We are aware of the poverty and deprivation that blots every country on the planet, some more than others but no country is immune, the system doesn't work for the people.

Modifying it will not get rid of the basic principle of the system, put in a dollar and take out two, something for nothing for the few and grinding struggle for the rest. Remember Obama's "change", more of the same type of "change" is what you will get if you just tinker with the system. There are alternatives to this profit driven system, it doesn't take much imagination to come up with a system of co-operation and mutual aid, a system that sees to the needs of all our people based on sustainability. We don't need the parasites of the corporate or financial worlds, they produce nothing of any use, all they are interested in is more power and wealth for their cosy little cabal and the rest of us can go to hell in a hand cart.

Can we look forward to the time when the people of every country occupy their towns and cities, their villages and communities and decide how they want to live, and how to do it in co-operation and federation with all others, shaking the billionaire parasites off their backs, creating a sustainable world of mutual aid free from deprivation? Why not?

CAPITALISM, THE UNSUSTAINABLE SYSTEM.

As our very own public school thugs of the Cameron/Clegg club go about trying to privatise everything in sight, perhaps we should cast our minds back to when Argintinian President Menem got a free hand to do just that. It created a few problems and perhaps the British people should be looking at how to handle the situation that might transpire.

BONUSES FOR PARASITES OR JUSTICE FOR ALL???

With the boss of Barclay's, Bob Diamond, being burdened with a £6.5 million bonus, heaped on top of his more than ample salary, while the rest of us face savage cuts to our standard of living, we should be seeing more of this sort of thing. Why does the British public accept the injustice of this system? Those responsible for the financial mess are rewarded with bonuses in the millions while the sick, the vulnerable and the poor are having their benefits cut. The ordinary people are seeing services cut, libraries disappearing, schools closing, unemployment rising as well as fuel and food prices rising at an alarming rate. Meanwhile the culpable parasites still suck the system dry and are protected by their millionaire friends in government. There is an alternative but the rich and powerful don't want you to think about that, just knuckle under and accept the "austerity cuts" leave the wealth and power to the pampered parasites. The choice is ours, take what they throw at you, or fight back for a better system based on mutual aid, justice and sustainability. A system that sees to the needs of all those in that society, not to the pampered profit drive few.

WE CAN SHUT THEM DOWN.

With all the bank and vodafone occupations going on at the moment I thought that this David Rovics song from 2005 would be a good rallying call. There is nothing like a bit of music for keeping the spirit going, revolution best be a happy occasion, certainly something to sing about.

SELF DEFENCE IS NOT A CRIME.

You either take what you get or you fight back, self defence is not a crime.

Manchester University Students Occupy against the cuts

Statement from students in occupation at Manchester University:

“Students at Manchester Univeristy have peacefully occupied the John Owens Building and are lobbying the finance board over the Coalition’s attacks on higher education.
“We are demanding that the University opens its books so that we know where the cuts will fall, how many voluntary redundancies have already been made and to highlight the fact that the vice Chancellor is paid 20 times the average salary. The financial director has denied any cuts are planned, despite the fact that voluntary redundancies have been announced and the combined studies department has already been cut.
“We are here to support lecturers and administrative staff who will be losing their jobs. To oppose the rise in tuition fees that will price out most working class students. And to oppose the privatisation of our Universities.”
