Rip-Off.

As I have spouted many times, the wholesale price of gas has been falling for sometime now, but we're told that they can't reduce the price to us as that is not how the markets work. Well an interesting little snippet appeared in the press, the Isle of Man has reduced its energy prices by 25% due to the falling gas price. Perhaps they haven't yet learned how the markets work, or perhaps we are just being ripped off. I know where my thoughts lie. For how much longer will be put up with being shafted on a daily basis by the rich and powerful?

Black Hole

Is austerity necessary or unnecessary, after all it is just to balance the books to the satisfaction of the financial Mafia. According to our Rishi Sunak team we have a £50 billion black hole in our finances and it has to be filled. However according to a group of economic experts, it isn't there. It appears it is all down to the way you do your calculations, and apparently Rishi, as Chancellor of the Exchequer, in 2020-2021 changed the way we do our counting the state finances, so now we have a £50 billion black hole. If however we revert to the previous accounting method, we end up with a £14 billion surplus. It seems that the figures are all based on predictions, you just pick the way you make your predictions. So it seems we have a choice, either a £50 billion black hole or a £14 billion surplus, however, we will not be given that choice, that's up to the lovers of the markets and the financial Mafia. The £50 billion black hole suits big business as austerity will drive down inflation, which in turn will depress wages and cut government spending with the added bonus for big business, that cuts to government spending will eventually lead to tax cuts. Big business doesn't want to pay taxes, it cuts into their profit margins.
The question is of course, do we put up with this mathematical fiddling to suit big business and the fanancial Mafia, or do we organise to bring down the whole stinking rotten gambling casino of the rich, where we always pay for their greed driven loses. The choice is ours, what heritage do we want to leave to our grandchildren?

Fail 18.

Again SubMedia brings you the news that the mainstream media seem not to notice. Our mainstream media tend to show how well capitalism is working, somehow or other overlooking the mass unrest and anger among the population across the planet. This episode, System Fail 18 takes a look at the elections in Brazil and protests across the world. Thanks SubMedia for shining a light on the reality of capitalism and its corrupt so called democracy.

Paranoia?

This post does in no way mean I am a supporter of Russian imperialism or any other machinations of states powerful or otherwise. It just tries to show we have a very biased information system called mainstream media. That same organ of misinformation continually spouts about Putin's paranoia about America wanting to break up Russia. Perhaps we should listen to the words of those in power in America to get a better picture of what are America's intentions towards Russia.

Extract from an article by Mike Whiteny He can be contacted at fergiewhitney@msn.com

Here’s how Washington’s geopolitical mastermind Zbigniew Brzezinski summed it up an article in Foreign Affairs:

“Given (Russia’s) size and diversity, a decentralized political system and free-market economics would be most likely to unleash the creative potential of the Russian people and Russia’s vast natural resources. A loosely confederated Russia — composed of a European Russia, a Siberian Republic, and a Far Eastern Republic — would also find it easier to cultivate closer economic relations with its neighbors. Each of the confederated entitles would be able to tap its local creative potential, stifled for centuries by Moscow’s heavy bureaucratic hand. In turn, a decentralized Russia would be less susceptible to imperial mobilization.” (Zbigniew Brzezinski, “A Geostrategy for Eurasia”, Foreign Affairs, 1997)

The “loosely confederated Russia”, that Brzezinski imagines, would be a toothless, dependent nation that could not defend its own borders or sovereignty. It would not be able to prevent more powerful countries from invading, occupying and establishing military bases on its soil. Nor would it be able to unify its disparate people beneath a single banner or pursue a positive “unified” vision for the future of the country. A confederal Russia –fragmented into a myriad of smaller parts– would allow the US to maintain its dominant role in the region without threat of challenge or interference. And that appears to be Brzezinski’s real goal as he pointed out in this passage in his magnum opus The Grand Chessboard. Here’s what he said:

“For America, the chief geopolitical prize is Eurasia…and America’s global primacy is directly dependent on how long and how effectively its preponderance on the Eurasian continent is sustained.” (“THE GRAND CHESSBOARD – American Primacy And It’s Geostrategic Imperatives”, Zbigniew Brzezinski, page 30, Basic Books, 1997)

Brzezinski sums up US imperial ambitions succinctly. Washington plans to establish its primacy in the world’s most prosperous and populous region, Eurasia. And–in order to do so– Russia must be decimated and partitioned, its leaders must be toppled and replaced, and its vast resources must be transferred to the iron grip of global transnationals who will use them to perpetuate the flow of wealth from east to west. In other words, Moscow must accept its humble role in the new order as America’s de-facto Gas and Mining Company.

No Poverty.

Get behind this mass protest, if you can't get to London, then try to organise one in your own locality. We have to get the message across, we will no longer be poor to pay for the gambling machinations of the financial mafia. Glasgow will be holding one in Buchanan Street at the Donald Dewar statue. Saturday 1pm give these all the support you can muster, it's your standard of living.

Another new Prime Minister, same old war policy. Rishi Sunak's selection to No. 10 is unlikely to see any trimming of the magic money tree for war.
The re-appointment of Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace, means that huge proposed increases in military spending are set to be maintained. We're told that all departmental budgets are could face cuts but the 'defence' budget is going to be doubled to £100 billion by 2030.
Cuts for the NHS, our schools and possibly pensions but mammoth increases for weapons and war. It's a disgrace. We have to get rid of this government before these ludicrous hikes in military spending become reality.
That’s why Stop the War and CND are throwing our weight behind The People’s Assembly’s ‘Tories Out’ demonstration this Saturday (5 Nov). Join us on the 'Welfare Not Warfare' bloc which is assembling at midday at Embankment Bistro Cafe.

Bias.

I and many, many others have often spouted about the bias in our mainstream media, the BBC being among the worst offenders. So I found it extremely satisfying to hear it called out on the BBC.

Film Club.

Good news for Glaswegin anarchists, and like minded peoples from further afield. Clydeside Anarchist Noise is starting a film club to be held in Glasgow Autonomous Space, first Sunday of every month at 6pm. This is really something we should all jump onboard and support.

Details.
Hello,

We have decided to start an Anarchist Film Club that will run the first Sunday of every month beginning this Sunday (06/11)! It will take place at Glasgow Autonomous Space at 6pm. The plan is to watch Birdman of Pollock (Curaidh na Coille).
The idea behind the film Club is that it will attempt to create a completely autonomous film club where everyone is welcome to contribute/enjoy. You can call this an attempt to birth new free spaces and anarchist communities in Glasgow, as well as play our part in making each others lives a tiny bit more manageable and more importantly fun.
We would love to see you all there!! (or even share the poster if you want:))

Cheers,
Clydeside Anarchist Noise

Lies!!

With the Cop27 in the offing we should perhaps have a wee look at some of the biggest polluters on the planet. Though not widely broadcast, but the information is there. Top of the list is the U$A military machine, by far the leader in our demise by climate catastrophe, as well as being a massive profit producers for the shareholders. War and its attendant appendages, apart from the unimaginable misery, death and destruction, is a massive carbon emission  producing machine, all for power and profit. The UK military is up their with the big boys when it comes to carbon emissions into the atmosphere. A recent report states that the UK military give well underestimated totals for their carbon emission. This is unacceptable in a world that is facing climate catastrophe. To bring down carbon emissions we have to stop this madness of perpetual wars and their attendant industries. Our survival and the war machines of the various states can't co-exist, it is either the arms industry and wars or our survival. We the people will have to make that decision, the big powerful captains of industry in the destructive capitalist machine are certainly not going to get rid of their milk cow.

The following extract from Declassified UK.

The UK military sector contributed 6.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent to the Earth’s atmosphere in 2017-2018 — the latest year for which all data is available. Of these, the report estimates that the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) total direct greenhouse gas emissions in 2017-2018 were 3.03 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.
The figure for the MOD is more than three times the level of 0.94 million tonnes of carbon emissions reported in the main text of the MOD’s annual report, and is similar to the emissions of the UK’s vehicle manufacturing industry.
The new report, written by Dr Stuart Parkinson of Scientists for Global Responsibility, finds that Britain’s MOD is “misleading” the public about its levels of carbon emissions

Bookfair.

Just a wee reminder, just one week to the 5th. November, remember, remember the 5th. of November, the Manchester and Salford Anarchist Bookfair. Let's make every anarchist bookfair a success by doing what we can to support the effort of those who take the time and effort to organise these events. They are an essential part of the anarchist movement, it's how we build our numbers, spread our ideas, keep our connections alive and have a bit of social interaction.

Rip-off.

Well now you are expected to relax, the new Messiah Sunak is going to steady the ship. Of course he has made a few predications, "there are difficult times ahead", not for him and members of the Posh Club, he means for you and I. Difficult decisions will have to be taken, not for him of course, but certainly for you and I, difficulty is putting it mildly. Energy price is just one of the difficulties facing the ordinary people, but not by the posh mob making the decisions. What they don't broadcast is the wholesale gas prices have fallen the lowest level since June but the price stays high,

(Dr Craig Lowrey, at data analyst Cornwall Insight (opens in new tab), explains any decline in spot prices will unlikely have a material impact. “Due to the nature of the implied hedging process, any decline in spot prices would be unlikely to have a material impact. This is because we would assume that suppliers would have hedged their consumers’ demand requirements well in advance of this winter. As such, the price of gas and electricity being consumed now is reflective of these longer-term hedges entered into by suppliers - not just the spot price.”) See the gambling casino wins again.

Fuel poverty kills more people than road accident, The Mirror.

What that translates into is that Shell posted £8 billion+ in profits for the previous 13 week period, up more than double for the same period last year. Do you ever get the feeling that you are being deliberately ripped-off, big time?
Just a thought, if you kill someone in a road accident you will pay the price, so if you kill somebody with fuel poverty, surely you should pay the price.
While the millionaire club at Westminster decide how difficult it will for you and I, are we going to sit back and take it? Every penny of wealth created in this country is created by those ordinary people who work and those who shop. It is not created by the billionaire/millionaire parasite class. Their wealth is created by pillaging and plundering that wealth that we the ordinary people create. Let's take it all back and create a society of justice, of mutual aid and co-operation between communities, workplaces and distribution centres all freed for the exploitative and cancerous profit motive. A society that sees to the needs of all our people, not one that just sees to those who can pay. We have the numbers, we have the power, all we need is the will to bring down this stinking parasitic, exploitative system of greed.

Pot & Kettle.

With the farce, pantomime, call it what you will, that is going on in the Westminster Houses of Hypocrisy and Corruption and people calling for a general election, I thought I would try to make it easier to choose between Tories or Labour. So let's look at how the Tories work, they will follow the dictate of the "markets", They will be business friendly, they will balance the books, which translates as the people will have to pay for this mess. So misery and hardship with poverty for us will be the result.

Now Labour, however, will follow the dictates of the "markets", They will be business friendly, they will balance the books, which translates as the people will have to pay for this mess. So misery and hardship with poverty for us will be the result.

So there you have it, so why bother supporting any of them, the system is rigged in favour of big business. You will be asked, without an option, to bear the brunt of their gambling casino addiction.
There is a better way to organise society, based on mutual aid, freed from the cancer of profit and exploitation. A society of community organising and control of production and distribution by the people, and seeing to the needs of all our people. Anarchism shows the way, we just have to have the courage and determination to end the state system and build that better world for all.
