Shafted.

Why do we the public put up with so much crap, duplicity, corruption, and greed from those we pay to manage our affairs? We have minsters fiddling their tax, funds stashed away in off shore accounts, over claiming expenses, while legislating austerity for us, the ones who pay their wages. You have members of Parliament going on the huff because they didn't get a seat in the House of Lords. Rishi £750 million Sunak fights hard to get a job that pays £164K a year, why? He could easily sign up with some merchant bank firm and probably earn about 5 times that salary plus bonuses and privileges. What was his real motive, could it be to get his hands on the control levers of our society and direct our affairs in the favour of his wealth and that of his cronies. We have ministers overseeing the building of schools, hospitals and social centres with our tax money, that are not fit for purpose. Why would you even considering building schools with a life expectancy of 30 years and then they become a risk to the lives of those who use them How many high private office buildings are built useing this weak cheap crap concrete? Is this material just for the peasants and tax payers money?

Of course you could go on, they start and indulge in wars, apart from pouring billions of pounds of our tax money into this savagery for power and resources they kill thousands of innocent people, displace millions, then set up a "hostile environment" for those displaced because of their state terrorism called war. They push the irrational illusion of perpetual growth at the expense of all life on the planet, why?
Since we stupidly accepted the state and capitalism, we have seen poverty mushroom across the planet, wars and destruction devastating the lives of millions and a few war mongering wealthy parasites get richer and richer. Still millions run to the ballot box to vote in more of the same. Surely insanity, we can't just go on the way things are, we have to call enough is enough and do our damnedest to bring this whole edifice to greed, insanity and selfishness crumbling down. There is a better way to organise our society, if only we would take control and shape our communities, workplaces and towns and cities they way we want them, to be fair, just and seeing to the needs of all our people. When will we ever learn.

Crisis.

Saturday 12th November, an opportunity to show your anger and disgust at a system that destroys the planet, plunges millions in to poverty and fattens the bank accounts of those destroying the planet. A chance to show your anger, disgust and distrust of the managers of the system, the politicians, who are in the pockets of big business, and who hand in hand are dragging us to oblivion.
November 12th. raise your voice, show your anger.

Youth.

If anything positive can be taken from the climate emergency, it's the fact that so many young people have taken to criticising the present economic system. The young have grasped the need to take action on the streets, form groups and challenge the government on its complete failure to address these problems. there are thousands more young people now interest in politics and acting on that, than there was before the climate emergence gripped the headlines. All us old campaigners and activist can do, is join with them and offer our experience if they want it, but we shouldn't give up the streets, that's where the changes needed will come from, not from the corridors of power and privilege, they are the problem. Thanks Bob for the links.

1%?

Why should people suffer poverty in a world with abundant wealth, especially since it is those very poor who produce that wealth. Without that army of poor the capitalist system would grind to a halt, it depends on them to make its profits, so we can never look to the capitalist economics to solve the problem of the poor, it simply isn't in its DNA. As long as there is poverty in the midst of wealth there will be discontent, at what point will that discontent turn to righteous anger that drives the action to rid our world of the poverty of inequality and the insanity of capitalist economics.

When we talk about climate emergency it is the rich and powerful that tell us we will have to change our way of living. They of course mean us ordinary people, not them, the richest and most powerful. A recent Oxfam report states: "The richest one percent of the world’s population are responsible for more than twice as much carbon pollution as the 3.1 billion people who made up the poorest half of humanity during a critical 25-year period of unprecedented emissions growth."  To my simple mind the first thing we must do to stop the capitalist driven climate suicide journey is get rid of that 1% of the richest billionaire parasites responsible for a massive portion of the earth's carbon footprint. and the only way to do that is bring down the capitalist system that creates and feeds them their unearned opulence, power, and privileges. Poverty always comes with discontent, discontent must breed resistance. In this type of society resistance must be resolute, rebellious until poverty and all its attendant miseries and injustices and the capitalist economics that spawns them, are written into history's annals as human's darkest hour.

When persistence and insistence becomes a war cry that spreads through different territories and in different languages, but with the same language of war as the genuine voice of struggle for the destruction of prison society, capitalist normality, domination and all its devices of assimilation, control and punishment.
This cry came out of prison more than 20 years ago and was reaffirmed again loudly almost 13 years ago and today. It is part of the practical-theoretical arsenal of many in the unavoidable framework of the Social War!!!
“AS LONG AS POVERTY EXISTS THERE WILL BE REBELLION!!!!

Thoughts?

Living in Glasgow close to the Cop-Out-26 Carnival of Illusions it seems more phoney, the hypocrisy seems to scream louder, the waffle and the phoney platitudes much more brazen. If it was a comedy on TV we could laugh, but it was for real, the illusions were meant mesmerise you, instead they angered and baffled you. Now that is all over, the ballerinas will go home and carry on as before. So what are my simple thoughts on this bizarre extravaganza. Apart from the anger, which has increased, and a feeling of "I told you so", and a desire to shout louder, not much. Of course the planet will not dye just most of the life on it, including us weird and stupid humans.

New Life?

You my friend will you be the one to pluck the last flower
perhaps you’ll be the one to chop down that last tree
or maybe you will be the lonely one to eat the last fish
as you gaze in disbelief across a parched earth
though not a barren one
the planet will continue spinning on its journey
alive with millions of microbes and tiny insects
evolution will continue to develop
a new cycle of varied vibrant life
this time without it fiercest predator
the human species.

Angry Youth.

What a heart warming sight it was in Glasgow today, to see thousands of young people take to the streets to voice their anger and disgust at the powers that be for the way they are plunging the planet into extinction. They are alive to the lies and the illusions that are being spun around their phoney, going green. The kids are wise to you lot and they are angry and prepared to take to the streets to vent their righteous anger and change the direction in which the present system is dragging them. They are the ones who will pick up the price tag for this plundering and pillage of the Earths resources for the personal gain of the few pampered privileged parasites. George Square was a microcosm of the planet's people, there were young people from all over the world, letting the powers that be, that they have had enough. Join them tomorrow, November 6th. no matter where you are, tomorrow is world day of action by the young and the old, and those who wish the kids and grand kids to have a planet they can live on with safety, comfort and a future.

Cop-in.

Saturday September 24th. George Square Glasgow saw a youth protest against the pillaging and plundering of their future for the benefit of the corporate bosses. Great to see so many young people active and well keyed-up on the climate emergency issue and the array of colourful posters and street chalking was a pleasure and inspiring to see. We owe it to the younger generation to get ourselves involved and bring an end to this insane capitalist suicide mission. We owe the future generations the right to live on a planet that is sustainable and can provide for their needs.  We can't be the generation that handed our kids and grand-kids a heritage of a disintegrating eco-system and oblivion. Unless we join them on the streets, workplaces and communities, that will be our gift to the next generation, time is running out faster than we can imagine. Solidarity and direct action now could save the day, and ours and their tomorrows.

Some photos from Saturdays protest.

Cop-26.

Dear friends,

In less than 6 weeks, world leaders will meet in Glasgow at COP26 to discuss our future. We already know that many groups and communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis will not be able to make it to Glasgow this November.

This means that it’s more important than ever to get organised so that our demands for climate justice are loud enough that they can’t be ignored.

Global Day of Action for Climate Justice

On 6th November, movements across the world are coming together to take action – from indigenous struggles to trade unions, from racial justice groups to youth strikers.

The Covid pandemic means that not everyone can travel to Glasgow. That is why on the 6th November, we’re calling for decentralised actions worldwide. Wherever you are in the world, you can help bring climate justice to COP26.

Find your Local Action for Climate Justice

When you find your local action, make sure to click ‘More Info’ and RSVP to be kept up to date. Can’t find an action or local hub near you? We can help you organise one.
Help us build the movement by spreading the word far and wide - see template WhatsApp, email, social media text here.

Want to get involved but not sure where to start?

There are many ways you can get involved in our movement. We need all hands on deck: in workplaces, communities, schools, hospitals and across national borders.  Now is the time to join the fight.
Join us for our webinar to find out how you can get involved - from volunteering to mobilising, from local to international levels. We'll discuss why and how we're getting organised for COP, our plans for and before COP, and the different ways you can get stuck in.
