The stories are many and varied on what went on in Catalonia when the state's bully-boys, the police, started their crack-down on the voting in the Catalonia referendum. To get a full span of the police violence, here are a collection of videos from the streets of Catalonia. Again, I'm not putting my voice behind the nationalism in this case, but highlighting how the state behaves when its people do something it doesn't like. Thanks Loam for the link.

It is no longer just about the independence of Catalonia, it is about ending the Spanish central state, heir to the Franco dictatorship. It's about unmasking it. Here in Spain in general and in Catalonia in particular the resistance capacity of the working class is being tested: how much repression, social cuts and wage cuts will it be able to assume? The back steps we take here will be decisive in the rest of Europe. Above all, we must support the Catalan people.

ReplyDeleteTHE PROPAGANDISTS.
When the hordes run with their flaming torches,
When they light the torch of freedom
Burning all injustices
Scorching all hypocrisies
Making a bonfire of poverty
Throwing dogma, patriotism and religion on the flames,
I’ll be there, among them with my box of matches.
