Solidarity.

We are all suffering from this crisis in exploitation, in relation to inflation wages are dropping rapidly, prices are skyrocketing, the winter promises illness and deaths, through lack of heating, plus the prediction that in two years time we will be 7% poorer than we are now. We must, on the streets, in a untied and determined manner show our anger and disgust at the powers that be who are heaping this poverty on us, shout loud and clear, that we will not tolerate this any longer, there is no law that says we must be poor so that the rich can get richer. There is no rationale that says we must pay for the blunders of the capitalist financial gambling casino Time to say, Enough is Enough, support the strikers in every and any way you can, it is not just their fight, it is our fight for a decent standard of living.

 Glasgow Keelie supports the strikers.

Multiple pickets around schools, universities, and Royal Mail centres on Thursday. We have been asked to support one at Strathclyde University by folk in UCU and students solidarity group. Their main picket at Strathclyde on the morning of the 24th will be at the Collins Building or the Learning and Teaching Building on Richmond Street from 9am, probably marching to Glasgow Green for 12.30 for the big union rally.
Friday the main event will be a joint union rally at Buchanan St steps at 12.30.
And on Saturday, there is the annual Anti Racism march gathering at Glasgow Green at 10.30, leaving at 11am sharp.

Justice.

The state is a brutal and vindictive organisation that will go to any ends to protect its claimed monopoly on power. It will create laws and punishments arbitrarily, in an attempt to crush any resistance to its  attempt to control the population and protect its wealth and power. The only road to freedom and true democracy is to resist and work towards the abolition of the whole state apparatus. Take a journey across the planet and you will come across in every so called country, similar cases of state brutality against groups and individuals who seek freedom from the control and shackles of the oppressive state apparatus, many pay with their life for persisting in their desire for freedom and justice.

That is why all those lovers of freedom and justice should support the call for a day of action
30th November: Day of action in solidarity with Alfredo and other comrades on hunger strike [Alfredo Cospito]

The following extract from Enough is Enough.

Since 20 October, the anarchist Alfredo Cospito has been on hunger strike against his detention in total isolation and torture and against imprisonment without parole. Other detained comrades (Anna Beniamino, Ivan Alocco, Juan Sorroche and Toby Shone) as a sign of solidarity and to give strength to Alfredo’s struggle, have also started a hunger strike.
Alfredo has been in prison uninterruptedly for ten years, spent in High Security sections until his transfer to 41 bis. The 41 bis is a prison regime of annihilation, as it is designed to cause physical and mental damage through the technique of sensory deprivation; it is a political and social death sentence, aimed at cutting off all contact with the outside world.
Our comrade was transferred to these torture chambers because, despite his imprisonment, he never stopped contributing to the international anarchist debate with articles, editorial projects and proposals.
The re-examination of the 41 bis measure against Alfredo is set for 1 December. This hearing will be very important because it will have to pronounce on the legitimacy of the previous Justice Minister Marta Cartabia’s decision to apply the 41 bis prison regime against our comrade.
Alfredo was convicted, along with Anna Beniamino and other anarchists, in the mega trial Scripta Manent, a trial aimed at criminalising anarchist ideas and hostile practices against all forms of authority and domination. Specifically, Alfredo and Anna were accused of being responsible for the double explosive attack against the Scuola Allievi Carabinieri in Fossano, on 2 June 2006, claimed by Rivolta Anonima and Tremenda / Federazione Anarchica Informale. For this attack, on 6 July, the Court of Cassation reformulated the sentence to ‘political massacre’. Life imprisonment is the only penalty the Italian penal code provides for political massacre. After reclassifying the crime, the Cassation sent the case back to the Court of Appeal to redetermine the convictions. The hearing that will decide the extent of these sentences is set for 5 December in Turin.
The Italian state, which has always protected the fascist strategy of mass murder, now wants to convict two anarchists of massacre for an explosive attack that caused neither victims nor injuries.

Injustice.

So the Sunak/Hunt duo in their Autumn statement, have done their duty, they paid homage to the financial Mafia, and the financial mafia liked it. This millionaire duo, yes they are both millionaires, Sunak is in the £700 million bracket while Hunt gets by on approximately £14 million, have a plan. This plan is to raise taxes and cut public spending. How will this hit you and I, well all the economic and financial experts state that it means that we will be approximately 7% poorer by the next two years. So you think times are tough now, well just imagine being 7% poorer, not a pleasant thought. Of course our Sunak/Hunt duo with their plan will not feel the pinch, cushioned as they are by their ill-gotten millions, how else do you gather millions, certainly not by the sweat of your brow.

Well there you have it, the plan for the UK, increased poverty for the ordinary people of this country, just to please the financial Mafia and their cohorts. So we can just tighten our belts and knuckle down and accept what is being heaped on us. Or we can take to the streets, display our anger and contempt, take mass strike action, organise together to end this plundering of the ordinary people to suit the fat cats of this festering cancerous economic system of insanity and greed.

Homes.

More relevant today than ever, the struggle for affordable homes, with the economic plundering of the public by the Sunak/Hunt duo of financial market appeasers, we are facing higher rents, higher mortgages, more evictions and homelessness. Though this book was first published in 1992, it is the same struggle that the ordinary people have faced all their lives. I hope you can get along and join this struggle for decent, affordable and secure homes for all.

Lies.

We all know that politicians lie, they lie with ambiguous statements, phoney predictions and promises they have no way or intentions of delivering. At the moment the BIG lie is inflation, they have just announced that inflation is running at the highest for 41 years at 11.1%. Of course if you are one of the very many millions who struggle to make ends meet, then the picture is a little bit different. You will obviously spend more of your income on food than the likes of Rishi Sunak and Jeremey Hunt, who will have no problem with inflation. However you are facing a food inflation rate of 16.2%. Even that is not the true figure for the vast majority of the population, who spend the biggest part of their income on the basics, they are facing something in the region of 30% inflation. The poorest always pay to keep the financial Mafia happy.

  The following figures explain this.
        The inflation rate over the previous year for the following is eye watering;

         Low-fat milk up 47.9%
         Margarine up 42.1%
         Pasta up 34%
         Sauces and spices up 33.2%
         Oils and fats up 33.2%
         Butter up 29.7%
         Flour and cereals up 28.1%
         Cheese up 27.1%
         Eggs up 22.3%
         Jams and honey up 22.2%

How do these figures relate to you and the so called inflation rate of 11.1%
Don't you think we have had enough of the lies, austerity and exploitation of this economic system of greed with milk and honey for the few and a little bread and perhaps a scrap of margarine for the rest of us.

The Streets.

A wee bit late with this one, but better late than never. On Saturday 12th. November in Edinburgh, Friends of the Earth Scotland, organised a march and protest demanding a system change. It was massive, colourful, with meaningful banners and costumes, and they were joined by many other groups, all displaying their anger and disgust at the powers that be and their intransigence, all in the name of profit, in meaningful action to stop this climate disaster. It would appear that it is nonsense to expect the present capitalist system to stop its plundering of the Earth that continually fattens their coffers. They are in it for the money and power, not for the well being of any living thing. It is on the streets that we will destroy this system of exploitation. We have to keep up the organising and demonstrating in ever larger numbers and support the strikers, if we are are to make an impact on this system of insane economics of greed. Don't demand change, make change, we owe it to our grandchildren.
A few photos from the very colourful and peaceful event.

Rip-Off.

As I have spouted many times, the wholesale price of gas has been falling for sometime now, but we're told that they can't reduce the price to us as that is not how the markets work. Well an interesting little snippet appeared in the press, the Isle of Man has reduced its energy prices by 25% due to the falling gas price. Perhaps they haven't yet learned how the markets work, or perhaps we are just being ripped off. I know where my thoughts lie. For how much longer will be put up with being shafted on a daily basis by the rich and powerful?

Black Hole

Is austerity necessary or unnecessary, after all it is just to balance the books to the satisfaction of the financial Mafia. According to our Rishi Sunak team we have a £50 billion black hole in our finances and it has to be filled. However according to a group of economic experts, it isn't there. It appears it is all down to the way you do your calculations, and apparently Rishi, as Chancellor of the Exchequer, in 2020-2021 changed the way we do our counting the state finances, so now we have a £50 billion black hole. If however we revert to the previous accounting method, we end up with a £14 billion surplus. It seems that the figures are all based on predictions, you just pick the way you make your predictions. So it seems we have a choice, either a £50 billion black hole or a £14 billion surplus, however, we will not be given that choice, that's up to the lovers of the markets and the financial Mafia. The £50 billion black hole suits big business as austerity will drive down inflation, which in turn will depress wages and cut government spending with the added bonus for big business, that cuts to government spending will eventually lead to tax cuts. Big business doesn't want to pay taxes, it cuts into their profit margins.
The question is of course, do we put up with this mathematical fiddling to suit big business and the fanancial Mafia, or do we organise to bring down the whole stinking rotten gambling casino of the rich, where we always pay for their greed driven loses. The choice is ours, what heritage do we want to leave to our grandchildren?

Crisis.

Saturday 12th November, an opportunity to show your anger and disgust at a system that destroys the planet, plunges millions in to poverty and fattens the bank accounts of those destroying the planet. A chance to show your anger, disgust and distrust of the managers of the system, the politicians, who are in the pockets of big business, and who hand in hand are dragging us to oblivion.
November 12th. raise your voice, show your anger.

Fail 18.

Again SubMedia brings you the news that the mainstream media seem not to notice. Our mainstream media tend to show how well capitalism is working, somehow or other overlooking the mass unrest and anger among the population across the planet. This episode, System Fail 18 takes a look at the elections in Brazil and protests across the world. Thanks SubMedia for shining a light on the reality of capitalism and its corrupt so called democracy.

Paranoia?

This post does in no way mean I am a supporter of Russian imperialism or any other machinations of states powerful or otherwise. It just tries to show we have a very biased information system called mainstream media. That same organ of misinformation continually spouts about Putin's paranoia about America wanting to break up Russia. Perhaps we should listen to the words of those in power in America to get a better picture of what are America's intentions towards Russia.

Extract from an article by Mike Whiteny He can be contacted at fergiewhitney@msn.com

Here’s how Washington’s geopolitical mastermind Zbigniew Brzezinski summed it up an article in Foreign Affairs:

“Given (Russia’s) size and diversity, a decentralized political system and free-market economics would be most likely to unleash the creative potential of the Russian people and Russia’s vast natural resources. A loosely confederated Russia — composed of a European Russia, a Siberian Republic, and a Far Eastern Republic — would also find it easier to cultivate closer economic relations with its neighbors. Each of the confederated entitles would be able to tap its local creative potential, stifled for centuries by Moscow’s heavy bureaucratic hand. In turn, a decentralized Russia would be less susceptible to imperial mobilization.” (Zbigniew Brzezinski, “A Geostrategy for Eurasia”, Foreign Affairs, 1997)

The “loosely confederated Russia”, that Brzezinski imagines, would be a toothless, dependent nation that could not defend its own borders or sovereignty. It would not be able to prevent more powerful countries from invading, occupying and establishing military bases on its soil. Nor would it be able to unify its disparate people beneath a single banner or pursue a positive “unified” vision for the future of the country. A confederal Russia –fragmented into a myriad of smaller parts– would allow the US to maintain its dominant role in the region without threat of challenge or interference. And that appears to be Brzezinski’s real goal as he pointed out in this passage in his magnum opus The Grand Chessboard. Here’s what he said:

“For America, the chief geopolitical prize is Eurasia…and America’s global primacy is directly dependent on how long and how effectively its preponderance on the Eurasian continent is sustained.” (“THE GRAND CHESSBOARD – American Primacy And It’s Geostrategic Imperatives”, Zbigniew Brzezinski, page 30, Basic Books, 1997)

Brzezinski sums up US imperial ambitions succinctly. Washington plans to establish its primacy in the world’s most prosperous and populous region, Eurasia. And–in order to do so– Russia must be decimated and partitioned, its leaders must be toppled and replaced, and its vast resources must be transferred to the iron grip of global transnationals who will use them to perpetuate the flow of wealth from east to west. In other words, Moscow must accept its humble role in the new order as America’s de-facto Gas and Mining Company.

No Poverty.

Get behind this mass protest, if you can't get to London, then try to organise one in your own locality. We have to get the message across, we will no longer be poor to pay for the gambling machinations of the financial mafia. Glasgow will be holding one in Buchanan Street at the Donald Dewar statue. Saturday 1pm give these all the support you can muster, it's your standard of living.

Another new Prime Minister, same old war policy. Rishi Sunak's selection to No. 10 is unlikely to see any trimming of the magic money tree for war.
The re-appointment of Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace, means that huge proposed increases in military spending are set to be maintained. We're told that all departmental budgets are could face cuts but the 'defence' budget is going to be doubled to £100 billion by 2030.
Cuts for the NHS, our schools and possibly pensions but mammoth increases for weapons and war. It's a disgrace. We have to get rid of this government before these ludicrous hikes in military spending become reality.
That’s why Stop the War and CND are throwing our weight behind The People’s Assembly’s ‘Tories Out’ demonstration this Saturday (5 Nov). Join us on the 'Welfare Not Warfare' bloc which is assembling at midday at Embankment Bistro Cafe.
