The Creeping Disease Of Corporate Fascism.

We all know that we live under the illusion of democracy, governments are in the pockets of the corporate world and the financial Mafia. However, if the world of big business gets its way, even that veneer of the illusion of democracy will evaporate. The big corporate players have come together and are in secret negotiations with EU governments, to remove completely any shred of power that governments may still have, they are trying to put the final nail in the coffin of the voice of the people. Governments will be held to account by the CEO and shareholders of big business, should they attempt any legislation that might in any way hinder their drive for increase profits. They want to get their grubby plundering hands on all public assets, privatisation will be the law, NHS, education, social services, all must be open to them for profit. Any legislation that might improve working conditions or wages will be challenged, and governments fined, as it may hit the  profits of the corporate greed merchants. Corporate fascism will be the only power, unless we wake up and bring this whole stinking, corrupt, unjust, exploitative system to an end.

Something exciting is about to happen. On Saturday 10 October thousands of people from across the EU and the USA will be taking to the streets to protest against dangerous trade agreements that could put more than 1 million of us out of work, ruin public services like our NHS, and allow dangerous chemicals and hormones in our food.  Probably the best known of these deals is TTIP which is being negotiated between the EU and the US. There’s a Stop TTIP action in Glasgow starting at 9.30am outside the SECC. Please come along and join in. www.globaljustice.org.uk/events/stop-ttip-action-glasgow
We’ll be there celebrating the enormous amount of names added to the Europe-wide petition against TTIP which closes in four days. If you haven’t already you can sign the EU-wide petition here. It’s reached almost 3 million signatures! Acting together, we can beat TTIP.
Best wishes, Guy Taylor Trade campaigner
P.S. Another dangerous trade deal is CETA between the EU and Canada. It could lock-in privatisation of public services and open up our government to huge lawsuits by corporations. If you haven’t already, tell your Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to vote against CETA.

Corporate Fascism's Strangle Hold.

Every day it becomes ever more clear that the world is not controlled by governments, but by corporations. More and more the big corporations and the financial Mafia, shape the structure of our societies, they dictate to governments the policies that they want, and these policies are never for the benefit of the citizens of those countries. All is to maximise profit for their shareholders, anything that gets in the way of that aim, has to be removed. This corporate fascism is not in its initial stages, they are at the point of dotting the i's and crossing the t's to finalise their total control over our lives, irrespective of what government you vote in to power. Today we have the illusion of democracy, tomorrow we will real corporatism. The shape of our world will be in the hands of CEOs in the marble halls of corporate power. If you're naive enough to believe that you can somehow stop this by voting in some messiah and a bunch of their cronies, you will be sadly disappointed. Governments are the paid managers of the corporate plan, the are there to give the corporate fascism the semblance of legitimise, and to control the civil population.
An appeal from Global Justice Now:
Remember the secret corporate courts that allow corporations to sue governments for protecting their citizens?
Following pressure from thousands of people like you from across Europe, the European Commission has now admitted that these courts are bad in their current form. However, the EU now wants to sign a lesser-known toxic trade agreement leaving our government open to huge law suits for things like raising the minimum wage or stopping fracking.

Take action now to stop the corporate courts.

Today is one year since the EU and Canada finished negotiating the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA). Our elected representatives in the EU parliament will vote on CETA next year. We need to remind them that as they have already rejected secret corporate courts, they will also have to reject CETA.

Tell your Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) it’s time to reject CETA now.

CETA is TTIP's little brother. It poses major threats to our public services, local jobs, the environment, and to the safety of our food. We’re facing raft of dangerous trade deals, and as CETA is the furthest progressed, it is vital we stop this toxic deal.

Best wishes

Anti-TTIP Global Day Of Action, Glasgow.

Right now, our MP candidates are making all kinds of claims about how they’ll protect our NHS. But there’s a key issue our politicians are keeping quiet on - TTIP. It’s the US-EU trade agreement being drawn up in secret - it threatens many of the things we hold dear, from our democracy and environment, to the NHS. [1]
So this Saturday 18th April, 38 Degrees members from across Glasgow will be gathering at the Buchanan Street steps to join a global day of action to stop TTIP. [2] It'll be a chance to hear from campaigners across the country and take part in exciting public stunts to shine a light on this dodgy deal.
The more of us that join in, the bigger our impact will be - so can you come along on Saturday?
WHEN: Saturday 18th April, 11am
WHERE: Buchanan Street Steps, Glasgow
YES, I’LL JOIN IN
The TTIP trade deal could open the doors to US medical companies buying NHS services, with one motive in mind - profit. And our NHS isn’t the only thing under threat: schools, social care and our treasured public services could also go under the knife. [3]
Recently 38 Degrees members have been taking action in huge numbers to tell our candidates standing for election that they must take a firm stand against TTIP - collecting signatures, emailing and tweeting candidates, and holding street events. [4]
On Saturday, let’s make sure MP candidates from every party see us out on the street mobilising people across Glasgow against TTIP. Together, we’ll spark hundreds more important conversations as the election draws near.
Saturday's event is being organised by a host of local groups across Glasgow and national groups who have been campaigning to stop TTIP. [5] Can you spare an hour or two on Saturday to join in? Everyone is welcome and it will be a great way to meet other 38 Degrees members who live near you.
Please click the link to let other 38 Degrees members know you’ll be there:

Hope to see you on the streets!

PS: If you can’t make it on the day, can you take two minutes to support the fight against the dodgy TTIP trade deal by emailing your MP candidates? Just click the link here to get started:

Glasgow TTIP Meeting.

TTIP still rumbles on, wheeling and dealing behind closed doors. The corporate world's attempt at a final thrust to take control of the world, and bring an end to any shape, form or illusion of democracy. What is more our elected politicians are in there stitching us up, all in secret.
Global Justice Now is holding a meeting regarding TTIP in Glasgow this Friday, 27th. February.
On Friday 27 February, Global Justice Now campaigner Ed Lewis will be in Glasgow speaking at a public meeting about the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Treaty (TTIP), the EU-US mega-trade deal that could hand unprecedented power to multinational businesses. You are very warmly invited.
Come along and find out more about how TTIP threatens hard-won regulations to protect the environment, food, workers' rights and our public services. Hear the latest on where the negotiations are up to, how the opposition is growing and what action we can take to stop TTIP.
TTIP will affect people in Scotland: from the NHS and other public services, to laws on fracking, local procurement, and the food we eat.  Make your voice heard with others across Europe to stop this free trade deal. Please come along on Friday to find out more.
Best wishes

If Davos Was A Toilet???

Two days to go until the world's richest parasites gather to discuss how best to get fatter, how best to milk the system harder, how best to increase their pilfering of the earth's resources, all for their own greed and gratification. Yes, it's banquet time for the plunderers of the planet, it's Davos time, World Economic Forum time.
On the 24th. January they will come from all over the world, to lavish in resplendent pomp and wealth, the powerful corporate moguls, the billionaires, the pampered parasites of industry, representatives of the financial Mafia, the two-faced political pundits, the heads of state, all members of that putrid mass that feeds of the backs of the ordinary people. We are expected to believe that they are indulging in this frenzy of pleasure, all for our benefit, we are supposed to believe that they are wrestling with such problems as how best to eradicate poverty, how best to share their ill-gotten wealth with the ordinary people.
Of course if you believe that, then you probably still believe in Santa Claus. What the babbling brook of bullshit, the mainstream media, will spew out about this four Michelin star festival of indulgence, will be the usual pattern of myths, illusions, and down right lies. We will be told that between the clinking of the champaign glasses, they will be trying to sort out the inequalities in this world. When in fact all they will be doing is trying to smooth out any obstacles in their path to further exploitation of the planet and its people.
It would be wonderful if we could, for one glorious day, turn Davos into one large toilet, then we could flush them all down the toilet in one historic moment for humanity, and the world would be a much fresher smelling place.
This week, 1,500 business leaders and 40 heads of state are meeting in Davos, Switzerland, for the annual World Economic Forum. They will be discussing how big business can help improve the state of the world – in their own best interests.
The rhetoric from Davos is so deeply engrained in society that it can be difficult to challenge the power that they hold. Our new series of interactive infographics exposes seven myths that exist to perpetuate injustice and poverty across the world - find out who is really getting richer; who the real scroungers are; and how Africa is really the one aiding us.

The world will not be saved a tiny group of the super-rich. Hope lies in challenging the power and wealth of this small elite and the orthodoxy of neoliberalism. By working with social movements around the world another world is possible.
At Global Justice Now we are campaigning for a world where resources are controlled by the many and not the few. And the first step to do this is to debunk the myth that big business is the solution to all our problems.
Best wishes,
Alex Scrivener,
