The Ben peekin' its heid above the parapet
What a great day, what a great climate, what a great country. Another glorious day on the bike, again it was "The Loch" cloudless blue sky all the way and back. On the way home, at Duck Bay, met two guys on nice road bikes, they had cycled up from Abington and wanted to know if they were OK for Luss, where they had booked into a hotel for the night, before continuing their ride to John O'Groats. Nice wee run.
My favourite refuelling stop when in Tarbet.
Tarbet Tearoom. I guess they also have beer in this beautiful place. The splendid day makes it desirable.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a traditionalist, but one of my friends, Joe, is a folk singer, I'll speak to him. You could no better than starting with the music of Martyn Bennett, he died, very young but he composed for and played a variety of instruments and merged traditional Scottish music with modern/classical

I'm not a lover of the bagpipes, acceptable outdoors, on a moorland, but not indoors. Though folk music is the history of a people and should be preserved.

Martyn Bennett was an wonderful musician and an exceptional composer, sadly he died aged 33/34 of cancer. His mother is the writer and folklorist Margaret Bennett, he was the step son of my friend Joe, folk singer. That piece is just one of many wonderful compositions.
